An amusement park, he hadn't been to one in a while, and he'd never been to one as a date before. Ride after ride, buying her candy, he spoiled her, he did everything he could to make sure she had fun.

He grinned happily as he handed her the cotton candy, "thanks for coming with me," he said truly grateful for her company, "its been amazing." She was cute and friendly, so fun to be around.

Luckily it wasn't overly crowded, summer wasn't in full swing yet, "haven't had this much fun in a while."

This was a fun day! Not only did she get to spend a day at the park, going in one thrill ride after the other, she was being coddled at every turn of it. She could still feel adrenaline pumping from all the rides, her throat felt kinda sore from the screaming and giggling but it was all worth it.

Still, it was too bad half of the day was spent following her script. She didn't get to laugh at some other rides she could have and she had to pretend to be terrified or startled, playing the role of the scared girl he probably needed to defend. It was a good thing she'd refined her acting skills well enough to keep in character.

Marian smiled sweetly as she was handed a spool of cotton candy. Cliche, but well, she'd roll with it. "Well, thanks for inviting me," she replied, gently taking it into her hands. She twirled it in her hands, for a moment appearing thoughtful. "Today's really great. I had a blast."

There wasn't so much of a crowd, which was fine -- she didn't really take to liking crowds, being more of a lone wolf type. Taking the opportunity to re-assert her bubbly nature, she lightly nudged the cotton candy towards James, playfully pouting at him. "You make it sound like you're gonna be sad and nostalgic." The pout vanished, appearing now as a soft smile. It was so fake but no one could probably tell unless they knew the real Marian. "You shouldn't have to wait a while have this much fun, silly! We can have all the fun we want and it doesn't need all the waiting."

James was fooled, cute, funny girl, what wasn't there to like? The Shadow on the other hand was not fooled, he squinted at every word, sneered at the fake expressions and emotions. He could see through Mari's mask of cuteness.

The young man chuckled at Mari, "hopefully we get to have more fun together," he said with a small grin. "Luckily we live in a magic city, so there's plenty to do," they continued on, James enjoying himself.

Stopping in front if a game, he quickly won her a stuffed animal, he hasn't dated much, but this seemed right. "Never got to come here before, happy I finally got the chance."

He looked to her grinning, "no school tomorrow, so we can stay here as long as you want." His eyes went to the ferris wheel up ahead, a small smile on his face.

"Well, definitely make more time together," Marian spoke cheerfully. Her words sounded innocent and naive, yet behind it were darker intentions, poisoning the poor boy's mind further as Marian kept on. "The city's so huge, there's gotta be something new no matter how much we try to do in one day!"

As they walked on, they found themselves stopped in front of one other park games, and again cliche, James handed her a stuffed animal. Marian wanted to laugh, though perhaps she only looked like she was containing her giddy squeals to James. "Well then, I'm glad I got to be the first person with you here, too."

Lies after lies. Marian liked turning his head around.

The little Shade followed his eyes when he'd turned to the ferris wheel, knowing full well what he was implying. Ah yes, ferris wheels. everyone said it was the perfect last ride for a date. Not that she gave a fuck about that, but well, she had plans up her sleeve.

Clinging on to the poor boy, Marian hopped giddily, trying to nudge him forward in that direction. "James! James! Let's go on that one! Come on! Come on! I think saw one with a cute heart shape!"

He grinned through it all, he'd been an emotional wreck for a while, it'd left him easily manipulated by the right people. "Yeah....we'll find more things to do together."

The Shadow continued to glare at Mari, he didn't buy any of it. He saw the girl for what she really was, poison, walking, talking toxin. He grumbled in the back of his mind, he'd wait until later to tell James.

James chuckled as she nudged him toward the ferris wheel and climbed on with her. "Today was perfect," he said smiling and looking to her as the wheel headed toward the top. It was romantic, or at least it seemed to be, it seemed to be everything James thought would make a perfect date.

He was so easy, Marian thought, she almost felt bad. Almost being the keyword, but she still didn't. She was going to keep it up for as long as she hasn't gotten bored of him.

They both went to the ferris wheel as she asked, getting onto the booth that was waiting just for the next people to arrive. In all honestly, Marian liked ferris wheels -- mainly because she liked the view. The breathtaking view of being above it all. She could do it anywhere but the ferris wheel offered her some nice seating most of the time.

Marian faked another cutesy smile at him, hugging the stuffed toy he'd won for her, "Nothing could probably ruin this," she said in response. Marian's gaze turned to he floor; from the angle they had been in, the floor was all covered by the shadow of the booth's walls. James couldn't probably be able to tell where her shadow was.

And where it was, she wouldn't say to anyone. She closed her eyes, leaning on James' shoulder while she reached out, stretching her shadow down to the shaft of the wheel until it reached the center of it all. With her human eyes closed, her full vision was down below, lodging a figurative pebble or two into the gear of the entire machine.

The ferris wheel creaked to a sudden stop, and Marian pretended to be jolted awake, appearing to be worried. "Huh? What happened?"

As she leaned on his shoulder, he blushed for a second and then wrapped an arm around her. He was completely fooled, a few months ago he would have been suspicious, but not now. So he held Mari as the wheel reached the top, unaware of her lies and deception.

The wheel halted, his gay silver eyes, looked around in confusion. "Seems like it stopped," leaning out, he looked down, seeing people gathering around as if checking to see what the problem was.

"Don't worry, shouldn't be long before they get it going," he snugged her, showing her that he wasn't going anywhere. He gave the cute girl a smile, "its not so bad up here."

"I hope they do though," Marian spoke, feigning concern, "I'm a little scared about getting stuck in places," she added. Obviously she wasn't, without having to wear a nullifying bracelet, she was free to use her abilities. It was a mistake for the people from the islet to, despite her brother's warnings. Though, it wasn't like she was about to use her powers to hurt people. Not directly of course.

The little radio inside their cart buzzed, announcing some technical difficulty and instructing the passengers to remain calm while the park's staff investigated the issue. Marian had a little inward smile in her, not that James would see it. Things were going all according to plan.

Marian seem receptive to his gesture and even went to snuggle a little closer to him as if seeing comfort. "I guess we'll be stuck here for a bit huh? It's not so bad; not when I'm with you."

Giving her a reassuring smile, he wrapped his arms around her, "yeah its not so bad." He brushed some hair out if her face, she was cute, adorable even, he hadn't dated much, but Mari was so sweet.

"I'll get us down if it takes to long," he said leaning in a bit as he talked. The poor boy was smitten, even though the feelings were more built on confusion and manipulation. "Teleportation is handy like that."

He felt like he needed to protect her, even though there was a tingle in the back of his mind, "our date just got, extended a bit I guess," he said with a chuckle.

James wanted to kiss her, the day had seemed so perfect to him. It had been everything he'd wanted in a date, a month ago he'd have noticed that it seemed to perfect, not now.

Marian giggled, all too familiar but behind it was all her intentions to keep the charade perfect as it was toxic. She snuggled closer, "That's fine," she said quietly, "You're all that I'd ask for if I get stuck anywhere at all." Making him believe he was the protector was too easy for Marian that it was too funny. How could he even think of that when he was so easily fooled?

"How long would you think it would take them?" she asked, oh so innocently. If she didn't know better, she would be worried but the ride should be functional in less than 10 minutes if they weren't bumbling fools. It wasn't as if she'd cut wires in the electronic. She only dislodged the engine with a little trick.
