The day's turned out as Adeloise had expected. No trouble waking up — because if you have a poltergeist in your room, it's not easy to stay asleep — she wasn't late for classes, she didn't miss the pop quiz, managed to turn in most her homework of the day. Yes. All was well so far in the day and Adeloise was pretty sure nothing could make her day any worse.

To make it any better, well, that could be arranged. But first...

"Adrien, help me out here and find me a good spot!" she whispered to her friend, while she kept her eyes on the vast room, scoping out for a table she'd like.

"I'm sure you can handle it yourself, squirt," the poltergeist laughed, "I mean, there's free tables from where I can see; you got this."

Lunch at the cafeteria wasn't too busy, and while Adeloise always chose to eat elsewhere like her dorm or the courtyard, the weather starting to get cold and she preferred to be indoors. And so the story goes as to why Adeloise found herself looking for a free table in the school cafeteria.

Adeloise pouted, pretending to be hurt by her guardian ghost friend's neglect. "Fine. I'll do it myself. I'm an independent who don't need no help from the likes of you." Adeloise clearly heard him say otherwise but decided to pretend she didn't.

Her search went on until she found a rather familiar mess of red from across the room. Obviously, she only knew a few people in the island to be able to recognize him. Adeloise made a beeline to his table where he sat in his lonesome, and before nearly slamming her tray down as she arrived. "Found you!"

Stefan's day went similar to Adeloise's in the sense that he did the same old thing. He got up the same way he always did, day dreamed about what he would be doing after school and that one girl he had on his mind and did all of his work. Now he was there sitting down at the lunch table eating the same old mac and cheese.

He wasn't paying attention to his surroundings so, when Adeloise slammed her tray down he wasn't expecting it and jumped a little where he sat."Woah, you did much more then just find me you nearly scared me to death ya dingus". He said before pausing and chuckling to him self shortly after.

"What brings you here of all places". He said referring to his empty table and the fact that no one really wanted to sit with him.

Adeloise had to stifle a snort when Stefan had nearly jumped off his seat just because it was 'unlady-like' as her father would have said. She would have done it if they weren't in the cafeteria though. Instead she just passed off her usual giggle before slipping into the seat across him. "Well then, I would like to say I did a good job if I managed to scare you that much," she said daintily, placing her a hand over her chest for effect. She even managed to flutter her eyes before she broke into another laughing fit.

She quickly regained her composure at least. "Well, I guess I kinda didn't want to eat alone?" she mused aloud, picking up her fork from the tray. "I mean, yeah, I've told you I have ghosts following me around but you know: Ghosts don't really need to eat and it feels weird to eat while they're just... there, you feel me?"

He flicked her forehead and smiled."nah you caught me off guard, I was just day dreaming again, but I will admit you got me". He said as he stuck his tongue out at her. He thought to him self that he was going to get her back later on.

"Yea eating alone totally blows, but hey I guess I'm not alone anymore huh". He said while he played with his food using his fork."and yeah eating with ghosts must seem odd, I do feel ya sister, but what on this island isn't odd am I right".He said shifting his posture so that he was leaning on his hand.

"so how has your day been". He asked still semi eating with his other hand.

Adeloise made a face when he'd flicked forehead, muttering a quiet ouch before her hand flew to inspect the damage. Not that there was any. "You're fault; not mine," she said, sticking her tongue out at the older boy. Adrien seemed to be more amused at their antics than be concerned about her well-being.

She took another bite off her plate before speaking again, "It's less of odd and more on awkward I'd say," she explained. "I grew up with ghosts around me and they're almost no different with having people around if you're in my shoes. Think of it this way: you're the only one eating and the 'people'," Adeloise made air quotes for this, "sitting in the same table as you are just there, maybe even staring, and you're compelled to offer them food only to realize they don't hecking eat like we do!" Adeloise heaved a huff before shoving her fork with a slice of pork into her mouth.

When she had recovered she turned to look back at Stefan, who'd been waiting for an answer. "Oh, you know. Typical school day. My other friend didn't go with me because she thinks there's way too many people in school," Adeloise made a face of disbelief. She honestly couldn't wrap her head around how her friend Stella was so... not social. But these were things to ponder on for another day. "What about you? Found anything interesting?" she asked him, waggling her eyebrows with interest.

"Awww poor you". He said ruffling her hair with his free hand."Sorry if that hurt at all, I tend to get carried away sometimes". He said chucking at her because he knew he hadn't flicked her that hard." Yea lots of stupid yet fun stuff is usually my fault". He stared back at her smiling back as she stuck her tongue out at him.

He pay attention to how she worded her exploration."Awkward you say, i would imagine ghost and stuff watching you sleep and stuff, that must be creepy". He said finishing the last few bites of his food."And what about showers, that must be super creepy". He said exaggerating the word super, he wonderd to him self if any of these things had happened to him unknowingly."Pfft hecking, I haven't heard that one before, that sounds so pg". He laughed at her wording and gave her a smug look.

"Well at least nothing bad happend to you right and hey you got me now so that's a plus right". He said trying to make things a bit better for her, you could tell that he cared about her as if she was his sister." Oh umm my day, ehh it has been pretty boring so far, I got up and got to class, caught up on some work did some day dreaming just the usual for little ol me". He said making various hand motions mimicing what he had done durring the day.

"It didn't hurt!! ...Much," Adeloise insisted, her last word coming out more as a grumble. After then she schooled her expression to something more smug, "Well, you're lucky you're my friend or I would have done worse than startle you." Adeloise was sure Adrien was laughing at her without needing to hear him; clearly he knew she couldn't do anything besides startle Stefan.

Adeloise had to stick her tongue out again, "Adrien pinches my cheeks when I say the f-word," she said in a mock pout. The ghost in question laughed right next to her before making a gesture of patting her on the head. Adeloise just gave him a soft glare (not that it looked any scary with her baby face). She ate in-between her explanations. "And actually, random ghosts used to float around and watch me in my sleep before my friends came along," she explained, scrunching her nose at the strange memories. It wasn't that creepy, but it was kind of felt invasive on her part. She didn't like anyone watching her sleep, human or no. She didn't like anyone watching her, breathing over her neck, when she was doing things. Period. "I used to go on staring contests so they'd leave me alone on anything I wanted privacy at. Some of them actually just settle with a please but the others still need to have me yell at them."

Adeloise scoffed playfully, "How's having you around a plus? Pretty you'd be in trouble if a violent ghost comes out of a corner and you can't see them," she teased. She giggled before taking another bite out from her food, "Well, anyway your day sounds really boring," she decided, "Why doesn't anything super fun happen here during school hours anyway?"

"Oh i'm really glad i'm your friend then, i can just imagine the untold horrors....". He said dramatically while smiling at her, he knew that she wasn't capable of hurting him very much."What are you going to do to me, kill me with your cuteness". He laughed at Adeloise and made a cutesy face mocking her." Or perhaps you will call some spooky ghosts to come and watch me shower oooo scary". He said making ghost noises.

He turned his head to the side slightly wondering who she was talking about."Who is Adrien?". He was puzzled with the talk in general Stefan knew nothing about ghosts other then the basics." Is there a ghost or something here right now, because by the way your looking at nothing it seems like what ever it is, is making fun of you". He would look in the direction she was staring and laughed." Or maybe you just like to stare off into space" he joked. He wondered what kind of ghost it was, if there even was a ghost that was just his guess, his mind was cluttered with thoughts of big scary monsters.

"Bahh i think i'm a pretty good friend and having me around is nice..... at times". He looked at her weirdly. "And i guess i would scream and run like a little girl if that were to happen, to be a hundred precent honest". He said making fun of him self as he usually did."Yea nothing really happens during school hours, its probably because powers are usually banned in most classes..... well i know mine is at least". He said looking rather bored as well.

For a second there was a somewhat sinister grin on Adeloise's face. It was a playful sneer but it was probably hard to notice a little discomfort for bringing up the fact she couldn't really do anything harmful. Not that it bothered her! But sometimes she just felt lame. "Oh, I don't knoooow," she sang, waving her fork around, "I mean cuteness can be very deadly; but I could have also passed by and pretend to accidentally spill my drink on you." A beat, and the sneer passed, replaced by a friendly, if not a little smug, "But that's bullying and I do not condone such behaviors."

As he finally asked of her friend, Adeloise was just reaching for her drink, taking a sip from it before replying. "Oh, he's one of my ghost friends. He's with me right now." She nodded to her side where the aforementioned spirit sat, appearing as nothing but faint light if Stefan would squint. "He's the poltergeist I mentioned before — if I ever did get to mention that. And yeah, he makes it a habit to make fun of me." Adeloise snuck another quick look at Adrien, sticking out her tongue with the gesture which the latter only laughed at. She ignored the comment about her spacing out as she'd grown to be a little unaffected by it. "But, I mean he's nice as long as you don't get on his bad side."

Adeloise seemed a little in thought before she continued. "I mean... I guess it's nice I have another friend who isn't a ghost, too," she admitted. "Sometimes the ghosts do get a little pushy... and kinda threatening... and just super dramatic. And I have to put up with that a lot of times. Like... ghost are practically pure emotions so... you can't really helpt it if they get all emotional like that." A sigh. "You do just gotta leave ghosts alone sometimes; and just steer clear from really violent ones when they're on a rampage," she added as a warning.

Adeloise snuck another sip off her drink before she spoke again, "Your powers can be super distracting though. And pretty flashy if you ask me. Meanwhile, my powers just so passive no one needs to ban me from it," she giggled.

Stefan looked at her devilish grin and tried to hold back the laughter, he found it really funny when people he knew that were not considered scary try to be something that they are not. But he kept a straight face as she explained things further to him."Good on you friend, i'm glad to hear that you don't support such things. Besides i probably wouldn't mind the drink getting dumped on me. Its honestly better then it getting burnt to a crisp" he said back to her. She had no idea how many pieces of clothing he had gone through because of "accidental" combustion.

"Oh thats pretty sweet. Well uhh nice to meet you ghost....." he said as he held out his hand quickly realizing that it was a ghost and couldn't shake it."Yeah people who make fun of you are usually good friends..... or so i have heard" he said despite only now starting to have real friends for the first time recently."Well isn't almost everyone nice if you don't get on there bad side" he said shrugging while giggling a little as it looked like she had just stuck her tongue out at nothing.

"Yea its nice to have friends in general but having more alive ones are more nice to have in my eyes" he said listing to her closely. Stefan thought how many violent ghost she had come across in her time here on Manta Carlos."Ok thanks for the info that might prove useful one day..... probably" he said looking at her impressed by how she knew how ghosts worked so well."Well i can't do much about ghost but if you ever get picked on or anything you can call big brother and ill probably help in some way" he said chuckling a little because he knew he usually made things worse.

"Yea having fire is pretty sweet. It can be convenient and a disaster at the same time" he sighed."Its hard to be around the people you love when you know at anytime could mess up and hurt them badly" he said and slightly looked down."But hey i got lots of friends now and my control over my powers are getting much better" he looked back up and smiled.
