"Yeah, only everyone hates the DC movies," Jackal said with an exaggerated sigh. "People would just be horrified. Hold out for a new MCU movie to do it. Maybe one with... what's her name. Spider chick."

He'd seen the movies like once. Wasn't like he was a huge fan or anything. But you had to watch the big movies if you wanted to be hip with the times and get everyone's references.

"It's wild, right? Totally unlike anywhere else in the world. Supposedly there are other supernatural colonies, but there's nothing like here. Nothing like... every day running into something new and totally weird."

Because there was a lot of weird.

Rada proclaimed and cackled, she did like DC movies. She liked almost any movie with action and heroics. Rada was picky with food and alcohol but rarely with everything else.
"Though I don't care where they stuff food, as long as people start taking it seriously."

"I know 'bout those colonies, been to one or two. You're right, they're nothing like this. They were mostly neighbourhoods or villages trying to blend in, this is a whole damn island and everything in plain sight."

"Not like I can visit," Jackal said with a brief gesture to his tail. He couldn't pass for human in the slightest. "Narrow reality's basically out of bounds for me. I'd need a hell of a human shape charm, and the one time I tried one it just felt... weird."

Boy had it felt weird. It just felt unnatural. Like he wasn't even himself. He could probably use one in a pinch, but that didn't mean he liked it.

"You're lucky you can manage without it. I'm kind of envious of all the people who can just get up and go elsewhere."

Rada said into her glass, staring towards the bar in a kind of daze. Yes, she looked normal, and even her pheromones could be dealt with since there weren't werewolves in every corner of the world. And yet, she couldn't go anywhere.
Soon enough Rada was over her sentimental moment and grinned over at Jackal, her cheeks getting a bit red from the alcohol.
"If only there wasn't the damn veil, right?! Then you could just go walk around in streets of Paris or alleys of Berlin and no one could complain! Let it all hang out!"
Rada laughed and hit the table once with her hand. She really did think it was unfair for those that human charms didn't work on or who didn't want to use them. But she was just joking, Rada knew the Veil was, at least for now, there for a reason.

The me too was weird. Rada looked human. She passed. No one would peg her as anything but human unless they knew something about her already, so the whole exchange was unusual.

But then she was off, bustling the conversation along, and Jackal was... thrown off.

Okay.

That was weird.

"Yeah, but imagine the wars. Imagine finding out angels and demons are real, as someone who thought that shit was all fake. It'd be chaos."

He paused, squinted, and then decided to fish a bit.

"Some reason you can't just go gallivanting in the narrow reality?"
