"What was she like?" He said, chuckling. "An annoying nightmare would be the simplest way to put it. But if she heard me say that, she'd kick my butt. Aside from that, she's cool. A little bubbly, not worried about getting into trouble." And boy did they get in a lot of trouble. So she hadn't been to Japan before? She must have moved to Canada at a very young age then. "That's cool. No need for a language charm then. When you do go to Japan, head over to a shrine and see if you can find one of us there."

Nodding vigorously, Amia began to poke her cheeks in an excited manner. She was extremely proud of the fact that she'd been able to learn Japanese, and languages in general were a favorite topic of hers.

"Yep! Yep! No need! Learning Japanese was so much fun, and I love learning about different languages! I can also speak Spanish, French and Mandarin!" It took quite a bit of self restraint to prevent herself from launching into a verbal example of each of these languages.

After managing not to, however, she once again thought about Japan and about what it would be like to visit there. She had done plenty of research into shrines before, since she wanted to be as respectful as possible when she finally got the chance to visit one.

"I'll definitely look for one of you, ehe!"

A wistful look came over her face as she thought more about that topic. "Traveling in general would be so nice. I'm... not all that good at it 'cause I have issues with adapting to new places. But I still would like to! Imagine visiting Spain, or France, or Mexico and South America... it sounds like so much fun!"

With any luck, the kitsune she'd find wasn't the friend he talked about. Because given this girl's volatile mood, that would only be a recipe for disaster. But then again, there's the slight chance that she'd have toned down the mischief by then, having to be stuck home. What impressed Ater was how many languages the girl knew. He himself could only speak English and Japanese, with very little in the way of vocabulary on other languages. What he knew was only the phrases and certain words that were pretty commonly said around the school and a few friends of his. But as she listed off the places she went to, he couldn't help but add, "You know, those are great choices. I'm not really the sort to travel a lot, but I'd like to see those places too at least once. My parents were thinking of going to India to commune with all the gods there. And you know, for some reason, I feel like I've already been to some places before. Like I've walked the streets there."

Amia looked quite curious as he mentioned feeling like he'd walked the streets of other places. It sounded very similar to the supernatural phenomena described in the books she liked to read, and it interested her greatly.

"Wow, really? Already walked them before? That's so cool! Do you think it's a sign of some form of reincarnation? There are actually lots of people who feel like that, as if they've been somewhere they've never visited before, and people theorize that it's evidence of a past life of theirs!"

"Reincarnation, huh?" Ater thought about it and wondered if that were the case. "I guess that would make sense. But I'm not sure if my clan ever had anyone that's been reincarnated before." That was indeed quite the possibility. He had to think how to check something like that. "Do you know you can tell if someone's been reincarnated? I can see souls, but I don't know if there's something there I've missed that could tell me if someone's reincarnated. I suppose a grim reaper would be able to tell..."

Amia entered a moment of deep thought,as she tried to remember all the obsessive research she'd done into topics such as reincarnation. However, she couldn't seem to recall exactly how you were supposed to tell when someone had been truly reincarnated. As such, she simply shrugged.

"I dunno, actually. I'm there's someone somewhere with some kind of ability that allows them to tell when you've been reincarnated. I don't know anyone like that, though."

Flapping her hands in a mixture of excitement and thought, she began to go off into a fast-talking tangent about everything she'd read on the subject.

"There's all these cool signs, though! Like in India, where you said! There was this little girl who talked from a young age about places she should have known nothing about, about details of a home she used to live in, she even named her past family members! So they found the people she named and discovered they'd lost a daughter when she was around her exact age! It's all so cool! So who knows, it's always a possibility!" All of this was said at an immensely fast pace, enough to make any average person dizzy.

Luckily, Ater had heard of the story she talked about, so even though he didn't catch every word, he knew what she was talking about. "Well I do dream up some places, but it's hard to tell if its a lost memory or just something from a movie." It was a little hard to justify knowing certain details when people can just go to wikipedia and learn about one place or another and cram it in there. And movies filmed all over the world shows real locations. But sometimes he does remember something that would have happened a long, long time ago. "Oh, while we're on the topic, have you heard that some people believe birthmarks mark where you've been killed in your past life? Because I'd like to know what killed me with this birthmark on the corner of my mouth."

Amia clapped her hands a bit and nodded vigorously when Ater mentioned what some believed about birthmarks.

"Ooo, yeah! I've heard about stuff like that! Corner of the mouth? Hmm... Well, I can't think about how it would have happened, but I'm sure that's an interesting way to die!" She then laughed, shrill and happy, liking this conversation plenty.

It took a moment of contemplation for her to remember whether or not she has any birthmarks of her own. None came to mind, though, so she merely shrugged. "I don't have any birthmarks, so I guess that means I wasn't killed! Just a lot of - uh, scars." Mentioning her scars caused her to tug at the sleeve of her sweater nervouslessly, wishing as she seemed to do often that she hadn't said anything.

"Scars, huh?" He commented, rubbing the back of his head. "Given how many times I've fallen out of a tree, I probably should have a lot more scars to be honest." He quickly and playfully snapped back, saying, "And for the records, most of those times were because someone threw something at me. And then there were the bats and owls." Was that a strange thing to say? After a short internal debate, he thought a little context was needed. "We used to hop from tree to tree back home, you see. So I guess you could call me a tree-climbing expert."
