Vadim let out a long sigh as the old steel door into the bar creaked shut behind him, his weary eyes scanning over the bustling room as patrons and staff members staggered about the narrow walkways of the dining area, the smell of cheap alcohol assaulting his nostrils as he made his way to a barstool. The week had just seemed to drag on and get worse with every passing day; early in the week had seen accusations of academic dishonesty from one of his professors being tossed towards him, while the very next day saw the raccoon needing to rewrite his résumé... again. As badly as the week was going, he needed a drink.

Бармен! Я бы хотел выпить, пожалуйста!” Taking a twenty out of his pocket that he had filched off some rich punk on the way in the door, the otherwise broke student hailed over the nearest bartender, who was appropriately confused by a request made in the Slavic tongue. It was, however, evidently enough to get a bottle of vodka and small bowl of peanuts sent his way within a few minutes, a sight that made the raccoon's ears perk slightly. Pouring himself a glass, he could tell it was cheap stuff as he knocked it back… Not that he minded; he was there to get drunk, not sip fine wine. The only thing that would make the occasion better would be someone to share the bottle with….

The doors of the bar abruptly slammed shut, just as soon as it flung open, catching the attention of a few patrons. Some had the sense to look away as soon as they saw him, finding nothing of interest, but some looked on curiously. The demon avoided stares pointed at him as he gathered himself, feeling a bit self-conscious, straightening his coat, and dusting way the creases on his shirt. A couple of employees seemed to observe him for a moment.

The day hadn't been great for the hellion -- not that any day was. There was always a consequent string of bad luck whenever something good happened so he wasn't seeking for it either. But right now, all he asked for was a few hours off from under his caretaker's hawk eyes. Any way would be fine as long as it could work, even if it meant tricking him and making a run for it.

Vidi made his way to the bar with measured strides, pretending nothing had happened as he took an empty seat. One of the bartenders seemed to have noticed him, but either of them addressed the other for a moment. Drinks weren't on the list tonight, but he could probably use one.

In his half-drunken stupor from 140 proof vodka, Vadim would have scarcely noticed the fellow who just walked in were it not for the fact they sat right next to the raccoon. Were he in any mood other than alcohol-induced giddiness, the furred rascal probably would have told them to piss off... But that wasn't now. Drunk Vadim was a lot nicer than sober Vadim when all the troubles that plagued his mind were pushed off to some point in the near future by a bottle of liquor, it seemed.

"Эй приятель! Вы выглядите так, как будто вы можете выпить!" the raccoon said, passing a shot glass down to the horned fellow with the dark stare beside him, and, much like with the bartender some fifteen minutes earlier, not really giving a damn if they happened to speak Russian or not.... Not that anyone would turn down a free drink.

If Vidi's attention had been elsewhere, it wouldn't have occured to him that the raccoon was speaking to him. For one, he didn't understand a lick of whatever tongues he had spoken in, but whatever it was, the shot glass that somehow found its way in front of him was enough for a translation. Honestly, he would have probably turned it down but he didn't have the mind to do that right now.

Vidi took the glass, raising it as to acknowledge the other company, but his gaze quickly turned to the bartender standing idly on the other side, voice turning to a low whisper. "Hey bud, you ever though of maybe having a language enchantment so I can thank this guy over here properly? That would really be nice," he said nonchalantly, a little smirk playing at his lip. The bartender in question looked flustered for a moment, quietly apologizing then excusing himself before moving toward his coworker. Vidi had heard rushed whispering but the demon couldn't catch whatever had been said.

Vidi just watched for a moment, his heavy mood lifted so slightly to allow a quiet inward chuckle, "I would have though these guys would have it more together than I do," he mused aloud, not particularly caring if the raccoon to his side would hear him.
