Shay had told Logan she would meet him at the theater. That was easier than having anybody pick anyone up. Easier, cleaner, more friendly than date-like. The method of transportation and meet-up may not have been like a date, but Shay sure dressed like it was. A light touch of makeup to highlight her dark eyes and her lips, hair a tad more stylized than usual, and clothing done just right.
When she checked herself over in the mirror, she had to come right out and say it -- she was cute. Shay didn't tend to think much regarding her own attractiveness, at least not genuinely, but she looked good today. Dark clothing more suitable to a funeral than a walk was what she normally wore, but this occasion was more special than that. So, she dressed in soft blues. It was a dress that made her look like to a doll. That had become a strong suit of hers, coming off cute at the same time as adult-like.
She laced up a pair of white flats outlined in blue and gathered her purse before being driven to the theater in one of the gang's cars. When she'd first become a Rosales, Shay would have been shifting uncomfortably at being driven around, but now it had become part of daily life.
The theater was mostly empty; the sun hadn't even fallen yet, and most people didn't come to the movies until later at night when the newer, flashier flicks were playing. This was perfect; it meant more time to talk and observe Logan. She had only seen him in passing since their last time alone together.
She had noticed he'd gained a few whispers around his person. That wasn't good, but Shay held out hope. It could have been anything, right? An accident? Indirect murder. Anything. But she knew that was unlikely. He'd mentioned, briefly, to her his desire to hurt people. But really, Shay didn't know what to do with all that. She could gain the favor of all the killers she liked, but what was the point? What did she do after that? Hopefully, intuition would guide her.
She leaned on the wall near the ticket booth as she waited for Logan, lost in her own thoughts, staring up at the sky and watching as clouds drifted.
