Some news is bigger than others, and some news is so prominent that it gets featured in the Manta Carlos Print, the cities largest newspaper. Experts have declared the island's continual snowfall to be a 'crisis'. While the snow isn't coming down heavily, the sheer quantity of it is beginning to verge on life threatening. Those who can safely clear snow without risk of refreeze are encouraged to speak to city hall, and will be paid for their efforts. Citizen are also encouraged to clear roofs where possible, in order to avoid building collapse in the event of rain.

The snow has passed three feet in uncleared areas.

Story: Sunday, February third, the unnatural winter we have been suffering through for two months escalated to dangerous proportions as a massive ice spike grew from a family home. The iceberg spread quickly, consuming several homes in the process as well as seemingly teleporting several people who had arrived onto the scene into a parallel dimension.

Though there were apparently no fatalities, several people are currently in critical condition. We will report as more information becomes available.

Two young Manta Carlos residents are in police custody as of today. Their involvement with the unprecedented snowfall has been rumored but not confirmed as of yet.

Sources indicate that the boys in question are fourteen years old Garland Folkes, a Starlight Academy first year high school student who is known for utilizing a pocket dimension for item storage.

The other boy is sixteen years old
Acharya Pravin, who has had trouble with the law in the past for misusing his ability to create thought constructs.

Why are these two young men being held by the police? Further research shows that the home that was the epicenter of the tragedy was actually Garland's home. We'll be updating as more comes to light.

October and September, two representatives of the Twelve, have come forward with a statement regarding the months' long snowfall that has plagued Manta Carlos until yesterday.

According to their statement, the cause was the god known as December, who set his magical snow to work independently. His intention was to deactivate the magic sometime after Christmas day, but found himself trapped in a pocket dimension, unable to leave or meaningfully affect the outside world.

As thanks both for December's rescue and as an apology for the mishap, the Twelve will be hosting a party this upcoming weekend at the Manta Carlos Community Center. The Twelve will be providing food and entertainment and ask only for people to come out and have a good time.
