"I'm so fucking bored."
With the sun hiding its face, soft gray clouds blanketing the sky, a cool wind and a drizzle, weather outside could not have matched better with the attitude of the one standing in it. With her powder blue hair pulled up into its signature rigid hearts, her arms crossed and her face pulled into a dark scowl, Clementine O'Sara was not feeling pleasant. Not at all. Muttering under her breath, she turned face and kicked a rock across the ground, before sliding to the floor with a sigh.
It was after classes, and the young girl could not be in a worse mood. She had just been bored to death by the curse that was education, forced to deal with all the idiots in her grade, and left with homework and anger under her belt. However, this was only the shallow reasoning behind her emotions. In truth, Clementine always felt like this at the end of the school day. The true reason for it had to do with something much different - her parents, a thought that made her sick to her stomach.
Sure, Clem liked to play herself up as confident. She was the witty one, the outspoken one, the person in the group who appeared as if nothing could bring her down. Yet few knew the crumbling sense of self worth that lay beneath this mask. Fewer still knew that it was all because of her parents that she acted this way, and that she dreaded going home each day to face their neglect and abuse. Every single day she covered it up with lies. Subtly acting as if she was rich, she had a wonderful life, her parents were loving people who gave her everything she wanted. Nobody had to know she came from a poor family with disgusting excuses for parents, right? Right?
Who was she kidding. With a heavy sigh, Clem swallowed back the tears that threatened to bubble up in her throat. Another miserable day, another period of miserable brooding. She was prepared to do what she always did: linger about the academy and surrounding town, and go home as late as possible. All she had to do with herself at the moment was wallow in self pity, and thus she did, not seeming to care that she was getting wet.
In fact, she was so absorbed in her troubles, she didn't seem to notice that someone may be approaching her.
