"I'm so fucking bored."

With the sun hiding its face, soft gray clouds blanketing the sky, a cool wind and a drizzle, weather outside could not have matched better with the attitude of the one standing in it. With her powder blue hair pulled up into its signature rigid hearts, her arms crossed and her face pulled into a dark scowl, Clementine O'Sara was not feeling pleasant. Not at all. Muttering under her breath, she turned face and kicked a rock across the ground, before sliding to the floor with a sigh.

It was after classes, and the young girl could not be in a worse mood. She had just been bored to death by the curse that was education, forced to deal with all the idiots in her grade, and left with homework and anger under her belt. However, this was only the shallow reasoning behind her emotions. In truth, Clementine always felt like this at the end of the school day. The true reason for it had to do with something much different - her parents, a thought that made her sick to her stomach.

Sure, Clem liked to play herself up as confident. She was the witty one, the outspoken one, the person in the group who appeared as if nothing could bring her down. Yet few knew the crumbling sense of self worth that lay beneath this mask. Fewer still knew that it was all because of her parents that she acted this way, and that she dreaded going home each day to face their neglect and abuse. Every single day she covered it up with lies. Subtly acting as if she was rich, she had a wonderful life, her parents were loving people who gave her everything she wanted. Nobody had to know she came from a poor family with disgusting excuses for parents, right? Right?

Who was she kidding. With a heavy sigh, Clem swallowed back the tears that threatened to bubble up in her throat. Another miserable day, another period of miserable brooding. She was prepared to do what she always did: linger about the academy and surrounding town, and go home as late as possible. All she had to do with herself at the moment was wallow in self pity, and thus she did, not seeming to care that she was getting wet.

In fact, she was so absorbed in her troubles, she didn't seem to notice that someone may be approaching her.

School had finally started and Lucas could not have been any happier. At least as happy he could be with the things in his control, everything else he just kind of had to roll with. He walked out of his first last period class with a grin plastered on his face. Everything went just how he planned the night before, from the high marks on his summer assignments to introducing himself to a class where less and less people knew who he was. Not the dying boy or the one with the weird family, but the secretary of student council and a chicken enthusiast. A handful of the upperclassmen still gave him those pity smiles, but high school had more newcomers to the island, people who didn’t know about the past.

The cloudy did not fit with his elated mood, but something about the gray atmosphere made the grass and trees so seem more greener. As he walked out, he could feel the humidity already clinging onto his skin. Any hope he had for his hair looking halfway decent for the remainder of the day was long gone. It still felt like summer, too soon to start school if he was a regular kid. Lucas was drawn to school like a fly to honey. It gave him a way to act and sometimes feel normal, spend some as much time as possible away from his bumpy homelife. He was the black sheep at home, whereas at school he had the popular vote. That’s why he was here on campus trying to kill as much time on before going home for dinner, pretending everything was fine there too.

As Lucas was on his way to the library to get ahead on schoolwork, he saw a girl staring up at the sky. It was hard to tell what kind of look she had on her face. Agitated? Sad? Whatever it was, clearly, she was not in a good mood. Probably annoyed about the bad weather, maybe a club meeting got canceled because of it.

Lucas approached her, a faint smile on already quite wet himself. Not completely soaked yet, but more or less damp from the drizzling sky. He carried himself well, like a small adult instead of a teenager. Definitely the type of person that comes to mind for a student council member.

“ Hey.” He said.
“ Earth to blue haired girl.” Lucas repeated, slightly louder.
“ Why are you outside? You’re going to catch a cold you know.”

In the midst of what could rather be described as her own teenage angst, Clementine suddenly became aware that in the back of her mind, it sounded as if someone was... talking to her? Then this background noise repeated, and she suddenly became aware that there was someone standing in front of her, calling out to her. Startled, her whole body gave a shudder, as her head jerked up and her eyes widened. How long had he been there? He was definitely talking to her, there wasn't a single other blue haired girl in sight.

"H - Huh? Who the hell are you?

It only barely occurred to her that this was a rather rude way to greet someone. Struggling to her feet, she attempted desperately to appear like she hadn't just been about to cry. Then, defensive anger started to kick in. Who was he? What gave him the right to approach her? Who did he think he was, questioning her behavior? Yes, his sentiment was rather obviously a good natured one - but in her current state, Clem couldn't be bothered to notice those details.

"I can stand wherever I want, kid. What's it to you?"

However, just as she spoke she became extremely aware of the cold rain splattering against her skin, a rain that was growing harder with every passing second. Perhaps... perhaps she should stop being gruff for just a second and get out of the rain. It didn't matter where, she just decided she wanted to be less miserable. As such, she mumbled another response under her breath.

"Y... Yeah. Let's get out of the rain."
