What was I doing again?

The sky was almost completely clear and blue this morning while the sun was high in the sky. Partially covered by an overcast of bright white clouds, the sun's intensity was dulled and thus making it a beautiful day. The breeze was amazing to the skin of anyone outside and the smell of fresh cut grass filled the air around the college grounds. It was one of those stereotypical days that only appear on the television shows that are usually made by computers and what not.

Atom stood in the middle of the schools campus while he looked above him. He basked in the sunlight sheltering him from dull feelings. A backpack on one shoulder and a black inked pen in his right hand, he was ready for the day to start even though he was ever so slightly early for the classes he had to attend. His first was science so he figured to head there first, but unusually he was able to take his time.

Approaching the science wing of the school, he had no problem finding where he needed to go since he had been here plenty of times before. This was in fact his favorite place to be on campus as of late since he has been learning the things that interest him the most. Things such as Atomic structures was what he loved and making it ironic, his powers involved the same thing. But alas, he had plenty of time to stop and relax before his classes began so he leaned on a pillar that stood proudly under an overpass open to walk under in more harsh weather. he stood there thinking about what he would learn today. Maybe the teacher would mix it up, maybe a little quantum physics?

Ryan was bored.

This was not unusual, but it could be considered slightly ominous. Only ever so slightly, of course; Ryan wasn't the type to cause problems. He was just the type to have already added three neon blue streaks to his hair, decided to wear a fluorescent yellow shirt, covered the sleeves in safety pins that did nothing to diminish the brightness, and painted his shoes yellow to match by nine in the morning. He had, unfortunately, not had time to paint his pants, so they were merely a bright red, with a line of safety pins running down the outside of each leg.

And he was on his second coffee. Just because he was bored didn't mean it wasn't still morning.

It was also getting close enough to class time that Ryan couldn't start anything too time consuming, though not quite close enough that Ryan didn't need to find something interesting to do while he waited. Fortunately, he was at a brand new school on a magic island; finding something interesting to do couldn't be very hard.

...Although he was in the college's science area, which was not the most interesting area of any school. Even if it did cause a few moments of dissonance; what exactly would they be teaching? The people on Manta Carlos, if not the existence of magic in and of itself, seemed like they would undermine most if not all of sciences's current theories. Ryan certainly hadn't been obeying any laws of physics that he knew of recently, with the invisibility and intangibility.

...Well, he was at the moment. Caffeine was too important to risk letting the coffee fall because he forgot not to fade out of reality too much. But he could choose not to, and laws of reality were definitely not supposed to be optional. Ryan was not going to be ashamed at all of laughing hysterically the next time someone tried to claim that the arts were inferior to the sciences because postmodern art made no sense.

Especially because the college didn't seem to account for that in any way Ryan could tell. He hadn't noticed any class names that referred to magic--not that he'd looked all that much--but there were some of those omnipresent science posters that schools always had on the walls. Ryan spent twenty minutes examining a hallway of them, and found nothing that accounted for magic at all.

He maybe should have kept the complaint about "why hasn't anyone scienced magic yet?" in his head, or at least at a low volume. But oh well; Ryan was an artist; a magic artist, even. He was allowed to be weird.

Hmmm. He could probably add magic to art somehow. Well, he certainly could, lots of ways. How to add his own without resorting to photography and creating ghost rumors, though, that was the difficulty. Maybe something with photosensitive paper and the shadows?

Well, he could figure that out later. For now, there was someone here! Ryan aimed toward the guy leaning against a pillar, and waved on his way over. "Hey! What class do you have?"

Atom stood against the pillar with quite a bit of boredom now that he was thinking he may have been at tad bit too early. What was he to do now that he had finished his thoughts on what to learn about in class today. It was getting closer to the beginning of class but sadly it was too far away from him to not get bored in such an hour of need. Though his situation seemed a bit exaggerated, he was indeed feeling as if he was the stereotypical guy in college without anything to do so he goes off and does something horrifically stupid. Luckily he had enough sense not to do something like that, especially for the sake of his wife. Does anyone know what she would do to him? Not a soul knows because the unspeakable horror that is his wife would diminish his way of life. But it was fine, its not the first time that Atom had to wait a while for something he wanted to do though this time it was something that would inevitably happen.

Soon enough though someone came to his area with great enthusiasm. The man seemed about his age if not maybe a bit older but there was something that seemed a bit off about him. His clothes were something special, bright and out there. There was not way he would get hit crossing a road. With those colors, anyone could see him from miles and miles away. But Atom had no complaints about it since it showed that he would more than likely be someone fun to be around. Seems a bit spontaneous as well. he was waving as he approached so Atom put his hand up with his hand opened wide showing that he was acknowledging the man's presence. It was cool to have someone to talk to now that there wasn't much to do in the time before class started.

Once he got close enough, Atom responded to his question about Atom's class. It was a good starter to a conversation but what kind of conversation remained to be seen. "I have a class on atomic structures and overlays. How about yourself?" He waited until he was close enough to say something because he didn't want to really yell. It was obvious though that this guy would be taking something out of the ordinary as a class, but then again looks can be deceiving. For all he knew, he could be another professor or something. But it would be nice if the guy would have something up his sleeve to keep the mood brighter. But that doesn't seem like it would be much a problem. Though Atom was a little tired of holding the pen he had so he cuffed it in both hands and reshaped it to be something like a bracelet made of string. It fit his wrist perfectly and was made of black and red string that intertwined one another in a design. Atom kind of hoped that the man approaching didn't notice but at the same time it would be another good conversation starter.
