Mmm, the winter weather really left a fuzzy chill on his nose. Morgan enjoyed the chill more than some people. It made his wearing a <a href='http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=108296607' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>hat</a> more understandable. As opposed to when he wore it in summer. He really got interrogated then.It was uncomfortable, being interrogated. So, the winter, feeling fuzzy and chilly, made him more comfortable. Although, he was going to a new school. Which was not fun. This was going to be great. Sure, he was going to be older than more than half of them, but he was still going to get the usual names. Though, it couldn't be too bad.

Bundled up in his warmest clothing, Morgan entered the office, looking around to find nothing of great interest. What did he expect? It was a school. Though he was kind of hoping to find something cool that symbolized that the school had powerful people. Oh well. Not like he could really see it all.

It took him longer than normal students to fill out the paper work, but he eventually go it done. Okay, so none of them were normal students. Whatever. But most of them could see print, as far as he was concerned. They needed to write things down for those with echolocation. But he'd finished, and now he was on his way to find the dorms. He looked down at the blank sheet of paper in his hand and then realized....

They'd given him a printed map, after all of that! Argh. Morgan threw his hands up in frustration and then slammed them down against his thighs. Whatever. He'd just have to find someone to show him where they were. He could sense someone nearby, They should be some help, right? Even if they weren't, he at least could say he met someone already. Not that anyone was going to keep track of who he met.

"Heya, I'm Morgan, kinda new here if you haven't yet noticed. Could you help me find the dorms?" He asked them, hoping they would be some help. He checked his beanie to make sure it was pulled snug over his ears.

<div align=center>Evan was flustered, he'd had a terrible struggle this morning trying to get dressed, worse than it usually was. He was exhausted and it was shown plainly on the poor boy's face, he'd stayed up half the night trying to finish an assignment he'd completely forgotten about. He'd only just managed to hand it in on time, though there was no doubt in his head that he had failed. For once in his whole life, he didn't care, he was too tired to care. It was difficult having antlers in situations when you were so tired you could barely process thoughts, it had made showering and getting dressed more or less a nightmare.

A new voice met his ears, and he paused, blinking and turning around to see who was talking to him. A new student, he assumed, he'd never seen him before. His suspicions were confirmed by the other boy's words a moment later, Evan stifled a yawn with his hand. "I can help you find the dorms." Evan confirmed, accompanying his words with a small, tired smile. Morgan. It took a moment or two for him to realize he should probably introduce himself, "ah, nice to meet you, Morgan." He held a hand out for the other boy to shake, "I'm Evan."</div>

The kid he came across was proof that this school hosted special students. He had antlers! That was insane! It was also really cool. It made him look kind of like a satyr. Though he was sure that he wasn't a satyr because if he was he wouldn't wear pants because their legs were covered in fur and were probably really well insulated. So he was just a kid with antlers. Wow. That made him feel less freaky. At least he could hide his ears.

"Thanks, man." He said with a smile. He looked really tired. Maybe he was. Should he say never mind and just tell him that he could find them himself? That would be a lie, but it would probably be nice. But he had already offered and was introducing himself.

"Nice ta meet ya, Evan." He greeted, taking Evan's hand for a shake. It was nice that he'd run into someone who was nice. It made him feel more comfortable when he met someone at a new place that was nice. It normally meant that he'd run into nice people all the way through school. That probably wasn't completely true, but it was some kind of universal law that he hardly ran into mean people.

"I'm normally really good at reading maps. It's just, they gave me a printed one." He said, indicating the piece of paper in his hands. He grinned goofily at this and chuckled lightly. He might be confusing Evan a little bit, but at least he was making conversation of some sort.

<div align=center>Evan smiled, and nodded a little, "that's alright... I was kinda lost when I first came here, too, it's really big." He more or less knew his way round nicely, now. He could get lost if he didn't concentrate, but that was more or less always his fault. He could feel Morgan's eyes flicker to his antlers, and it made him blush. They weren't something he was proud of, and if he could get rid of them he would have done so in a heartbeat. It would probably be horribly painful if he were to cut them off, though, he really didn't like the thought of that.

This boy seemed friendly enough though, and Evan liked that, usually he'd get a nasty feeling around people that he perhaps thought would be bad news, but that feeling wasn't present, and he felt okay about it. Evan was a nervous sort of boy, but he was friendly and polite in the right situation, this was apparently one of those times. "A printed map?" A confused look crossed his features, he wondered why he could read other maps, but not printed ones. "What's wrong with printed maps?" He blinked, and tipped his head to the other side as he spoke.</div>

Morgan smiled. Evan was really nice. This was going to be fun. Maybe he'd already made a friend. That would be awesome. One more friend than he had back home. He would have smiled, but he was sure his smile was already as big as it could get. He could sense how far down the hallway went on either side and it was pretty long. When he had first arrived his echolocation had shut off because of the sheer size of the school. Yeah, that tended to happen.

"It is. I couldn't really see the entire thing when I first arrived." He commented in a way that said he wasn't really watching what he was saying. He didn't normally. Especially when he was now at a school where everyone had odd powers he was going to constantly reference his even if the person he was talking to didn't know what it was.

Morgan sensed as Evan's expression changed and he concentrated hard to get every line and crease and movement so much that all the needed was color to know what Evan looked like. He was concentrating so hard, in fact, he almost missed Evan's question. "Oh! I can't read them." Duh, he already knew that. "I mean, I'm blind. Technically. But I'm blind because my power is echolocation." He stopped, making sure Evan was getting this. "I'm like a bat, I send out sound waves that you can't hear to tell me what I'm seeing. So I can't read anything printed because it's so finally placed on the paper, it's virtually flat and it doesn't work that well. If I concentrate hard enough I can read written word, but nothing printed." He hoped that made sense. It was silly when Evan tilted his head though, made Morgan's smile come up slightly in one corner. Man, he wished he knew what colors were.

<div align=center>Evan rubbed the back of his neck and laughed softly, there was something different about Morgan, but he didn't really know what it was. That animal instinct within him could sense something there that perhaps a regular person wouldn't be able to feel. He decided not to ask him about it though, for fear that he'd think Evan was crazy. He shook the feeling off and returned Morgan's smile, he was a nice boy, he wondered which his dorm was. I couldn't really see the entire thing when I first arrived. Evan wondered what that meant, and was confused for a moment or two.

I'm blind. Ah! That made more sense, and there was the answer why he was struggling to read the map, too. Echolocation, that was an interesting power. Evan didn't really have any powers, he could more or less do everything that a deer could do, his senses were a little better than a regular human's. He was a little more agile as well, though he seldom used that to his advantage, he didn't really do much running around, and preferred to read alone in his dorm room. "I can help you." He chirped, "do you know what number your dorm is?"</div>

Morgan had no idea if he gave off some odd aura to other people that he was not human. In fact, he himself was not entirely sure why his ears were pointed. He had always been told by his parents that he was a magical elf, but as he got older he believed they had been joking with him. When he was told he was adopted he thought maybe his biological parents just had sharp ears. The thing was, now that he knew odd people existed, especially ones with antlers, maybe he really was and elf. It wouldn't be all that odd. But he would wait to see if it was possible. If he met a vampire or something, then he'd believe it.

When he spoke he knew he confused people, he knew that, he didn't really think much when he spoke, which was why he confused people. He was also blunt, but there was really no reason for his bluntness to offend anyone in this situation. So really, his words seemed to only mildly confuse Evan.

Dorm number? He mouthed this before turning to look away from Evan as if the answer was carved into the wall behind him. "Um, they told me, I know they did..." he said trailing off and tapping his foot. He bit his lip and looked back at Evan and shook his head. He held up the map and other papers in his hand and offered them to Evan. "It's probably in there somewhere, sorry, I've got a bad memory." He shrugged sheepishly and chuckled.
