Cheeto kept watching the show, still fiddling and playing with Chloe's tail as the show began to play out. It seemed the way it always seemed to Cheeto but her mind raced at all the small differences and what they could've lead to. She looked back up to Chloe. "Wait, you okay?"

She sat up a bit, her grip on Chloe's tail tightening slightly as she grew somewhat worried. Was something up? Was she sick? Did Patrick Stewart's accent just get to her now that it wasn't french? "Something up? Want me to pause the episode?"

Chloe gasped as Cheeto tightened her grip.

“N-no… you don’t have to do that.” Her legs were trembling. She took a several short, gasping breaths. “I’m fine. It’s just… whatever you’re doing to my tail feels really nice.” She giggled a little. “Weird, but good. No one’s ever touched it that way before.”

At least Data was the same android in this version as in the last one. Now, he was supplying Picard with a list of synonyms for a phrase he had just learned. Picard’s patience was obviously wearing thin. Chloe laughed. “You have to love Data.”

Cheeto blinked a few times then looked at Chloe's tail, stroking it in her hands like it was a long, warm... "ACK!" Cheeto fell off the bed with how quickly she suddenly let go of Chloe's tail, thumping onto the floor in a pile. Somehow the girl had landed upside down, her feet folding over on either side of her head and her arms splayed wide. She looked up at Chloe as best she could from her awkward, crumpled position on the floor. "S-Sorry! I didn't mean to- I mean I didn't know..."

Cheeto had almost lost complete track of the episode, looking up at the TV gain briefly before looking back to Chloe. "Hehehe, He's like a puppy ain't he?" She seemed momentarily distracted from what had just occurred, however she did just fall on her head...

Chloe was confused. And worried. She leaned over to look at Cheeto, compromising as her position was. “Are you okay? Why are you sorry? What are you going on a –“

Her tail twitched. “…Oh.” Chloe hugged it closer to herself, away from Cheeto. Her face felt hot from blushing. She took a deep breath. “I… I didn’t even think of it that way. Didn’t realize that you were, uh…” Giving her tail a handjob. The demon shifted uncomfortably.

Cheeto changed the subject. The show continued. Chloe stayed where she was. Inexplicably British Picard met Q for the first time. Chloe had forgotten that Q was so bad at understanding humans. Or was that just something specific to this universe’s version? Not like she would ever be able to find out.

“Look, Cheeto. I’m… I mean, I didn’t…” She sighed. “Can we still be friends?”

"Oh, well..." Cheeto looked at Chloe, trying to find the right words. She frowned a bit before continuing, still upside down on the floor. "I like you!" She paused, stammered a bit, waving her arms a little as though trying to get up, then continued. "I mean, well, I didn't know how sensitive your tail was, but I... uh... well I don't wanna lose a friend over something like that!"

She eventually squirmed and wriggled until she rolled over perfectly over, now sitting on the ground and facing Chloe with a grin. "I mean, Dorito's still got friends that she... Y'know." Cheeto gave Chloe a knowing look and a nod, then suddenly looked over at the screen. "Why you gotta be so over awesome, Q?"

Chloe looked surprised. Her surprise soon gave way to a smile.

Now, Q was telling the Enterprise crew to go home and face the communist threat. Picard calmly informed him, in his weird British accent, that the Cold War hadn’t been a thing for hundreds of years. Chloe knew there was a reason she liked this show.

“I like you too, Cheeto.” Things might get steamy between them in the future, or they might not. Cheeto didn’t seem to have any expectations, and now, neither did Chloe. Either way, Chloe was sure that she would have fun with it.
