Van Wagner Mansion
An old renovated mantion lies in the most mountainous region of the Forbidden Forest, well beyond The Woods, where the surrounding area is filled with vicious monsters that are not suited to living in civilization. Van Wagner Mansion is a place however where many powerful intelligent monsters dwell away from the general population of Manta Carlos Island, inside they are given free range to do whatever they please as they have choose to stay away from people so they could avoid hurting people and cannot exit without special permission from the administrators.
The mansion works as a halfway house, but inside is old and lacks electricity, though magic is used to generate power for outlets and lights in some rooms. Torch light is the most common source of light in the entire mansion, and at times it is pitch black.
Around the mansion is a barrier that stops anyone from entering and exiting except by the main gate using a combination of technology and magic, the main gate requiring a special key to open the gate temporarily. Entrance is at your own risk. The guards are Iron Golems that protect the surrounding mansion but do not enter within, the Golems are reproduced in a day if they are destroyed. Also around the castle trees blocking all view of the lower areas and paths, it is advised to not travel within without a guide and bodyguards.
Food shipments and supplies are regularly sent to Van Wagner Mansion to make sure that they are kept well fed and as happy as they could be while not leaving. While not a prison for say, they are only allowed on the island when staying in the mansion and the surrounding houses. Others may choose to live here, but only at their own risk.
There it that a huge high tech underground complex exists under the mansion where a variety of experiments and other less than legal things occur, but no one knows that and it is kept hush hush.
