Skye walked into the large ballroom, twirling around in the dress her mom sent her for her birthday, which was the next day. She looked at her reflection in the mirror, and smiled. This is perfect for the dance! she thought happily. Oh yeah, the dance... she thought, slightly less enthusiasticly. Speaking of the dance, the soon to be fourteen-year-old girl was still dateless, 11 days before the dance. She had put it off so long because she was too shy to ask anyone.
She sighed, and walked to the center of the magnificent ballroom. It was so huge that she must've looked like an ant compared the the size of her surrondings. It was so quiet and empty. The whole time that she had been at the Academy she was surronded with others, and now she was suddenly alone...and she wished that she wasn't.
