While Raphael may not have outright laughed at him immediately, Ivan could see the obvious amusement. For the most part he was able to brush it off, though, even if he was embarrassed. He even chuckled, just slightly, as he gave a half shrug. A snort quickly followed as the strange blonde man mentioned the squirrels.
"I don't know.. some of those squirrels are quite murderous," He murmured softly as he shook his head. "One of them went for the jugular. Thought I was a goner." He paused, before adding, "Reminds me of that one ex I left in Texas. I mean, she didn't tell me she was a vampire...? But good god did she leave marks like one." Of course, Ivan had no exes, but he liked making up such little stories on the fly. "There's about seven in there, by the way. Maybe ten. I forget how many I let loose into the bathrooms before coming here."
Ivan, in the meantime, had begun working on setting up the slime- it would be hidden on the teacher's desk, where, if he slammed said desk hard enough the vibrations would trigger it to shoot at him. He intended to set up two or three- not too much, he didn't want the squirrels getting covered with the teacher in question, too much. Wasn't sure if it was toxic for them or not.
His eyes would also frequently look to Raphael, and a tiny smile came to him the more he watched. Something about seeing them interact with him made him feel.. happy. More at ease than before, even, and this time more naturally so.
... Of course, this calm was broken as soon as he heard the man speak. With the way he'd said those words, while looking him over, he couldn't help a tiny squeak of sorts- though he tried his hardest to suppress it- as his face erupted into quite a few shades of red. "Uhhh--..." He fumbled, looking away as a nervous laugh- though it sounded closer to a giggle- left him. "I-I see. Well. I'll help you look later! There's bound to be plenty of fish in the sea~" Fish that were anyone but him, of course.
