It was a dark and reasonably peaceful night. There was a light dusting of snow on the ground and very little clouds in the sky. The moon was bright, though not quite full, and the moonlight made the snow sparkle. Being nighttime, and winter, it was fairly chilly, but the air was still and crisp.
Eek had pretty much just arrived on the island, which was why he was wandering alone and unsupervised in the middle of the night. Of course, the baby-fae was also nocturnal, so he was wide awake. He had decided to wander in the park because he was nervous about meeting new people and possibly getting shot at or screamed at by said new people. Also he was a little hungry, and it seemed like the best place to get food.
The boy was only wearing an oversized, long-sleeved t-shirt, and his fuzz didn't do much to protect him from the cold, so he was kind of huddled in the crook of a tree. This did give him a good vantage point, though, and was also a great spot for finding some tasty bugs.
He would tap at a branch and listen. Then, when he found a nice, bug-infested one, he would gnaw it open with his front teeth, stick in his ridiculously long finger, pull out some bugs, and pop them in his mouth. He kind of liked bugs more than fruit, just cause of their funny crunching noise, although fruit was really tasty when he could get it.
