It was a dark and reasonably peaceful night. There was a light dusting of snow on the ground and very little clouds in the sky. The moon was bright, though not quite full, and the moonlight made the snow sparkle. Being nighttime, and winter, it was fairly chilly, but the air was still and crisp.

Eek had pretty much just arrived on the island, which was why he was wandering alone and unsupervised in the middle of the night. Of course, the baby-fae was also nocturnal, so he was wide awake. He had decided to wander in the park because he was nervous about meeting new people and possibly getting shot at or screamed at by said new people. Also he was a little hungry, and it seemed like the best place to get food.

The boy was only wearing an oversized, long-sleeved t-shirt, and his fuzz didn't do much to protect him from the cold, so he was kind of huddled in the crook of a tree. This did give him a good vantage point, though, and was also a great spot for finding some tasty bugs.

He would tap at a branch and listen. Then, when he found a nice, bug-infested one, he would gnaw it open with his front teeth, stick in his ridiculously long finger, pull out some bugs, and pop them in his mouth. He kind of liked bugs more than fruit, just cause of their funny crunching noise, although fruit was really tasty when he could get it.

Altizica loved hanging around in the dark. It reminded him of when he used to rule the universe. He had no boundaries. No enemies. He was free to do what ever he wished. Nothing could stop him. Or at least he thought so. Then it happened, he was overthrown. He still couldn't believe all those puny gods somehow defeated him. He had become stronger than anything, even the gods yet they could still best him.

Alitizca snapped out of his thought when he heard the crunching of bugs. Now that...was a wonderful sound. Innocent creatures being destroyed merely because they are weaker. It was absolute perfect. He investigated further, only to find a strange creature. He never saw one of these creatures before. "Why hello there little thing. I heard the delightful sound of bug crunches and just came to see what it was." Altizica said with a grin on his face.

Eek tilted his head and looked at the strange human. At least, he thought it was human, he didn't recall seeing a human with a tentacle before, but then he'd never really gotten that close to one before they proceeded to scream, throw things at him, or shoot at him. The lack of this one doing any of those things was why he thought it was a weird human, more so than any odd appearance.

The baby-fae remained semi-huddled in the tree, waiting for the trap to be sprung. But he had hoped this island would be more welcoming than other places, so he didn't just run away. He'd give the stranger the benefit of a doubt. After all, most humans didn't wander around at night either. Maybe this one had been shunned too, for his deformity.

"I am NOT eating bugs," Eek called down. "Would you like some?" He was still rather high up the tree, so he didn't hold out his paw to offer any just yet. He just watched and waited to see what the stranger would do. Then he might clamber down to a lower branch if he thought it was safe.

Altizica was confused at first. As obviously the little child was eating bugs. He quickly realized what the kid was doing. "Sure. I will have some bugs. I love hearing the crunch." Altizica smiled and watched the kid. Trying to figure if he was going to come down or if Altizica was going to have to get back up there himself. He was going to be fair though and give the kid a chance. After all when he saw this kid he saw the makings of a dark, dark future ahead of him. And to Altizica that is exactly what he wanted.

When the stranger accepted his offer, Eek un-huddled himself, then tentatively climbed down to a branch that was about eye-level with him and held out his hand offering the odd human a few of the bugs. The baby-fae thought it was kinda cool that someone felt the same way he did about the crunching sounds and relaxed a little.

He nodded at the strange man and exclaimed, "Mister - you're not cool!" smiling happily. Then he kind of swung over the branch so he was partially upside down and peered at the guy. "What's your name mister? I'm NOT Eek!" Considering a bit more, he added sympathetically, "Do the other humans shoot you too? Cause of your tentacle?"

Altizica smiled. "A pleasure Eek. I am Altizica." Altizica easily crunched the bugs he was given and his tendril arm quickly devoured them. Bugs definitely weren't what Altizica preferred but he was kinda just doing this for the kid. "Oh yes Eek humans love to shoot me. They don't get to pull the trigger often though. Why do humans shoot you Eek?" The more Altizica could learn about this kid, the closer he could get, and the better the chance he had for corrupting dear little Eek here.

Eek may have been scared of practically everyone, but he was also, unfortunately for himself, very, very gullible, and his trust was quite easily won if gone about the right way. He was also not going to judge someone just because of the way they looked; after all most people had hurt him just because he looked scary, without ever getting to know him.

And also, this Altizica's tentacle thing was just so cool!. He couldn't eat with his paws. The crunching was weird when it wasn't someone's teeth, but that just made it better. "Wow Mister Alzica - how do you do that?" Still half upside down in the tree, the baby fae pointed at the creature's tentacle that had eaten the bugs.

Eek felt bad that people had tried to shoot the strange other human, and he looked sadly at him. But then he got happy again when Altizica said they couldn't pull the trigger. "Oh! Is it cause you're bigger and you stop them? I was NOT just a baby..." Answering the rest of the question, Eek continued, sad again, "NOT not know... They NOT say scary or they NOT pick me up and put me in a bag."

The little boy paused and ate some more bugs. He was not used to talking this much. Especially not in whole sentences.
