Too Late for Dinner?

It was nearing midnight, Sohalia had always been a night person. So despite the time, she stormed into the the Cafeteria angrily. You could tell her mood just by the look on her face. Ofcourse, she was never happy, but tonight she was especially angry. She walked quickly, scowling at the space in front of her as she did so. The lights were dimmed since, even though they never completely closed the cafeteria, not many kids were expected at this time of night. The windows outside were pitch dark, and the tables and chairs were mostly empty.

She glanced at some of the food on the countertops, and looked away, disgusted. She was a very picky eater, and none of this food looked good to her. She grabbed a plate and tossed random foods on it. Carelessly dropping theplate to a table in the corner, she poked at it with a fork, but refused to eat it. She rested her elbows on the table, putting her chin in her palms and resting her eyes. Finally, after almost a half hour of sitting there, Sohalia stood up and grabbed the plate, tossing it into a garbage can. She turned the other way, too quickly at the, and lost her balance, falling to the floor.

Her head hurt, she was hungry (she wouldn't have been if she weren't so picky), and she felt suddenly tired. She cursed and glared up at the cieling. Footsteps echoed in the room, and suddenly she was glaring up at a person.

Jira looked down at her before walking past her not really caring about how she fell. He was hungry and hadn't eaten in a while so he just looked straight and shut his eyes as he noticed how almost no one was here...that would be fine for him right now he was trying to dispell the thought of his birthday being in his head...it happened to be christmas and it wasn't like it was going to be any diffrent then it would be any diffrent then what it was last year9

Sohalia, meanwhile, was making her best effort to look as dignified as she could while having just fell on the cafeteria floor. She looked up at Jira, who seemed not in the least interested in how she'd falled. She called after him, "Yeah, thanks for all the help and concern!" She stood up, and dusted off her clothes. She ran her fingers through her hai, and checked her reflection in the window and then turned back to Jira. Walking over to him, Sohalia put a hand on her hip, as if she hadn't been lying on the ground moments ago. She wanted to make a rude comment, but, none came to her. The words normally just tumbled from her lips, without a thought to it, she never bothered. Either way, she looked down at Jira, and opened her mouth, "You - I -" she stumbled, what was her problem, "Excuse you," she ended up saying, pushing past him and walking a few feet. What else could she say? Thousands of insults came to mind, but none of them would make sense out of the blue. She sighed, frustrated. Maybe it was the fact that it was Christmas, and her first one away from India, since her dad had died, too. She shrugged off the thoughts, pushing them to the corners of her mind, hoping he would say something.

Jira said nothing. That bothered Sohalia, he couldn't tell her she was rude, anything. She stomped her foot, turning back towards him. She walked up to Jira, "You know, it'd be polite to atleast say something," she told him. "I made the effort to atleast think of something to say, and you don't even return the favor," she went on. Now she was telling someone else to be polite? "It's Christmas," she went on, "you should have that whole cheery, happiness thing going on," she crossed her arms. "Shouldn't that do something!" she motioned around the room, towards the holiday decorations. All he did was walk to pick up food, "Well good luck," she murmured, "none of it's any good!"

"And what is there to be cheery for?" He asked his voice raspy and cold his eyes hidden by the brow of his blood red hair. He never got presents or even so much as a merry christmas when he was awoken so why did he have to act so happy when it would be nothing but a lie9

"Honestly, I don't care if your cheery! It doesn't matter to me, you can be suicidal for all I care, I just want a response when I say something to you! What's wrong with you anyways? Did you not get any presents?" she asked, not expecting to be right. She sighed, dropping into a nearby chair. If she was going to argue, she might as well be comfortable.
She played with a strand of black hair while waiting for a response, "and why are you eating so late, you'll get nightmares," she scolded, even though she had come to eat to, not that she even payed attention to that fact.

"No I hadn't not since I had been born." He said lying about the part of him only bering born one year. He didn't comment on the food as he began to walk to a diffrent table since he just didn't want to talk to anyone. His voice was raspy because of his sadness and almost to tears and he would rather be alone.9

Sohalia followed him to a different table, sitting down across from him. She always had something to say, and this was no different. "Well,I think it's wonderful, but if you really want a gift, go get yourself one, but atleast you said something that time, good job," she argued sarcastically.

She rested her elbows on the table, and put her chin in her palms, looking at Jira boredly. 'You're really boring," Sohalia sighed, tapping her fingers on the table, "Why are you awake late anyways?" she asked finally, tilting her head to the left.
