Tobias is pretty average in terms of appearance. He's 5'8", with a fit but slim build. His hair is black and kept fairly shaggy, while his eyes are a light green. He's mixed race, and more or less anyone would have a hard time guessing his ethnicity. He wears glasses to see distance, and needs them more or less all the time. Tobias tends to look awkward more often than not, but he also keeps himself neat and tidy. Clean shaven, with clear skin and good personal grooming. He has a thin scar on his right calf, leftover from surgery.

When he's not wearing his uniform, he's dressed mostly in classy but comfortable clothes.

Tobias would be described as the friendly boys-next-door type if not for one crucial factor: how open he is. Tobias isn't the kind of person who keeps secrets, and considers himself an open book. If someone asks, he'll answer, and unless he's actually bound by confidentiality rules, the answer'll be right. He just doesn't see the point of keeping secrets, and a large part of that is simply having grown up on the island, around all kinds of weird stuff, and being used to it.

He's got a good idea of where he wants to go with life, but he's not terribly hard working, so it won't be an easy thing. He's planning to major in business, but doesn't actually enjoy any of the stuff that comes with it.

Tobias is generally polite, and rarely swears. His mother would always get on his case when he did, and aside from a few slips he mostly goes day by day with nothing more serious than a damn.

He's wary of cars, and refuses to ride in them, even if they're the easiest option to where he's going.

Tobias's power is simple enough: he can talk to birds. This includes earthly birds, as well as other things that would be considered birds if they were on earth, and allows him to both understand them communicating to him, as well as to communicate back. The birds aren't required to listen to him or follow his orders, but most birds tend to be pretty easy to bribe anyway.

Tying in with his job, Tobias has invested some of his money into two important pieces of equipment:

Anti-Aura Bracelet: It's a simple silver bangle, and when wearing it Tobias feels no effect from any aura powers. Targeted powers just work just fine, but passive abilities like attraction auras simply have no effect. He can't tell when he'd be under the effect of one without it.

Anti-Disease Bracelet: A simple golden band, intended to match his other one, this simply protects him from the nasty risks of being sexually active. It also renders him sterile while wearing it.

Tobias was born on the island, the only child of the Madame of Home Sweet Home. Being raised by her--a single mother by way of a sperm bank--lead to some fairly interesting views. Tobias grew up around sex workers, and as a result is a pretty open person. While his mother never pressured him, Tobias always intended to take over the business when he was older, and set his sights on that. He was never bothered by his lack of a father figure, having plenty of mature adults in his life of all genders, and was on track to graduate on time despite his lack of actual interest in most of his classes.

Right up until his mother passed away. It was a simple accident--she swerved to avoid an animal in the road--but the car flipped. She died instantly, but Tobias lived, the damage he sustained comparatively minor. His leg was broken, shattered in the impact, and while he suddenly had the money to pay to have it healed instantly, his doctor suggested that he let it heal the old fashioned way, and give himself time to mourn.

It was a good choice. The loss of his mother was devastating to Tobias, and he suddenly found himself unanchored. He dropped out of school, missing his entire last year of high school, and focused instead on recovery. His leg healed, but slowly, and it gave him time to process what he'd lost.

A year later, he decided it was time to go back--so he went back to finish off high school, refusing to let himself be stopped by what had happened.

It was what his mom would have wanted, after all.

Tobias is the sole owner of Home Sweet Home, a small but high class brothel focused primarily on providing the 'girlfriend experience' for clients. He doesn't run it day to day, or even weigh in on management decisions, although he's planning to pursue a business degree and take it over when he's graduated from college.
