"Have you given me reason not to trust you?"
He peaked up from his arms, "Well... No. I guess not?" He responded softly.
"Then that makes you perfect for the job. We could discover new places together. You could show me the places you've always wanted to go to but never could."
His lips twitched in his sweater, and he hugged his legs a little tighter. He wasn't really used to smiling much, but a smirk was definitely playing at his cheeks, his fingers still busy fidgeting. It sounded so nice and so... wistful.
He may not have many friends, and definitely not yet in this strange place, but somehow regardless that he was always so suspicious of folks, Briar seemed like a very sincere guy.
"I understand if you don't want to. Perhaps we can spend some time together on the island first. There are many places here I have not yet seen. When I fly I always see something interesting."
He sat up instantly, frowning again, worried that his stand-off-ishness was already pushing the guy away, but then he was so quick to follow up with a closer-to-home suggestion. Offering that olive branch of friendship... or was that peace?
Wait.
Fly?
He could fly?
Emotions fluttered across his face, from contemplation, to desperation, then relief then confusion. He began chewing on his lip again, observing him up and down. What sort of thing was this guy then? It was so easy to forget that 'Human' was just a look everyone had adopted... though he was always to easy to sort people into 'us and them', despite the fact that he wasn't exactly human either.
Once again, that migraine was returning from such a muddle of thoughts.
"I would like to get to know you as a friend."
Rubbing his forehead with thumb and forefinger, he suddenly relaxed and blinked at ... Mr. Scribe was it?
"uh.. uhm...." His mouth was so dry, and he found himself losing his words again.
He shook his head, then nodded, then just held out his hand awkwardly.
"Y-yea. Sure. I'd uh... I'd like that... The trip too, would be... fun. Eventually?" Gawd he felt so weird and awkward.
"I.... havn't really had a...in person... friend in a while.... so I might not... you know. Be great at it... at first." He admitted quietly, staring out at the lake and burning his cheeks in his arms as they flushed furiously.
He buried his head, the pink heat reaching his ears.
"But that sounds nice.... Briar."
