Alex would have been quite happy to lie by his brothers feet and sleep all day, it was cold and he didn't much like the cold. Especially when he didn't have that thick fur coat to keep him warm. A hand moved up to the collar tight around his neck, slipping his fingers underneath and tugging lightly at it. If he'd tried to go too far from his brother, he'd find his chain pulled taught and himself yanked back to the younger man's side. This place was different to him, however, there were new smells and sounds and lots of new people that he'd liked to have tear the throats from. A little alarmed at that more aggressive thought, the man's eyes widened, shuffling back to Ezra's side and sticking close to him.

His brother - who wasn't really his brother, not really, Alex had merely grown so used to addressing him and viewing him as so. He was his brother, nonetheless, a pretty man who had grown awfully well into his body. Alex found himself staring and a small frown crossed his face, was his mind really so one track that it snapped onto relatives as well? He shook the thoughts away out of his mind, though shuffled closer again despite himself. "It's cold." He complained, glowering just a little. "Can't you let me off?" He whined, pouting at his little brother and tilting his head to the side. "Please? I swear I won't do anything." That was probably a lie, however.

A man on a leash. It was an odd sight for Avian but she had no room to talk. A girl with bleach white hair and a seagull nestled on her sunhat. A girl who had been there for a solid 20 minutes shading the same owl. She tapped her pencil on her sketchbook as she watched the leashed man, studying the odd marking on his face. Never had she seen a design so unique. Flipping to a fresh page, she made a quick, rough sketch of the marking, all while wondering why it was there along with the leash and collar. Avian raised the book to the seagull for it to see her work but then she noticed it was gone!

*Was it the doggy man that frightened it off?* She thought to herself.
She couldn't help but snicker a little at the nickname, Doggy Man. Although she tried to hide her giggle as best she could by covering her face with her sunhat.

Taking Alex out on his walks was probably one of the highlights of Ezra's day. He liked spending time out in the open with his brother, it made him happy just to be close. His grip tightened on the leash, watching Alex tense up at the new smells and things. He relaxed a little, as his brother returned to his side, and Ezra's faint smile grew a little. "It is a bit cold, isn't it?" The days had been getting shorter and darker, and Ezra had been anticipating snow for the last few days. He knew it was probably a little too early for the tropical island to snow, but the steadily dropping temperature made him wonder.

"Hmm. I'm not sure I trust you." Gently reaching to pat Alex's face with his free hand. His favourite staff rested in the crook of his arm, ready to be caught up and used in case of an emergency. He hoped very much that Alex wouldn't act up today. Letting him off the leash felt like even worse of an idea without the stick, especially the way he had been eyeing all the people earlier. Tapping his fingers on the leash a moment, he grasped his brother's face in his hands tightly, a stern expression on his face. "Atticus, I swear I won't feed you tonight if you're bad." His eyes narrowing a moment, Ezra hesitated before unclasping Alex from his restraint.

Alex's lips formed a stern pout as Ezra's hand came up to touch his face, and he likely would have growled if one eye hadn't been set upon that stick cradled in the crook of his little brother's arm. He'd received more that a few bruises from that damn thing, but for some reason he didn't at all have the heart to chew it up, though if you looked close enough you'd probably find a few little teeth marks in it. Atticus, I swear I won't feed you tonight if you're bad. The man lifted an eyebrow, "pfft. Why would I be bad?" Especially at the risk of not being fed. Depends what I'm missing.

His ears pricked at a sound, and he bared his teeth in a snarl that probably suggested he'd just forgotten what Ezra had just told him. There was a girl perched close by, sketch pad in hand with long, white hair that billowed about her waist. I'll teach you to laugh you damn little weakling. How dare she laugh at him, he was the alpha. He stopped next to Ezra, turning to face the girl and growling softly, a feral sound that rose up from the back of his throat.

Shading the eyes just right, Avian heard a tiny growl. Looking around timidly, she couldn't find a source, other than the doggy man. Did he make that noise? He looked a little feral but could he really growl like that? She quickly became absorbed in her work, trying to look busy so that doggy man might miss her. She didn't want to be noticed anymore. It was her usual strategy: freeze and hope the predator passes by, much like that of a bird's strategy. So she went back to diligently shading the black owl's pupils and the white shine they gave off in the moonlight the night she took the photo.

Shooting his half-brother one final look, Ezra let the chain fall through his fingers, looping it around his forearm. He knew that Alex needed more time off the leash, hopefully one day he could function without the aid of a well placed hit of his staff.
Distracted for a moment by the coil of the chain, Ezra didn't notice at first that Alex had already found a target. The familiar growl made him freeze, squinting first at his beast, and then at the thing he was growling at. A small girl with white hair was sat on a bench, frozen over a sketch pad. Firmly grasping his staff, Ezra turned it in his fingers, giving his brother a sharp swat to the side of the head with the thick crescent piece of his staff.

"No." Quickly, Ezra grasped a hold of Alex's collar once again, clipping his chain back on. "I just said to behave, and what do you do?" Giving a sharp tug on his chain, Ezra led the way over to the female creature Alex had growled at. Maybe if he just ... Met her a little, he wouldn't be so aggressive. A little more socialisation rather than just being cooped up next to him all day long. "See, this isn't so bad, right? Friends are nice to make."

A sharp crack sounded and before Alex knew it, his brother's staff had come into contact with his skull. Letting out a sharp yelp, the man whipped round in an effort to bury his teeth into the wood, but he wasn't fast enough and they merely ended up snapping together with a loud clack. He snarled at the younger man for a moment, bristling and baring his teeth in full. He'd never turn on Ezra though, he'd probably lose that fight, despite how strong and mighty he might be, Ezra was an Alex-expert. A whimper sounded from the man as he found himself yanked close and his leash clipped back on. He could have easily yanked his brother from his feet, but he didn't dare do that. He winced to think at the thwack he'd get.

Friends. He didn't need friends, he was happy without company for the most part. Alex was very much a solitary creature aside from his brother. Though company was good for some things. Reluctantly, he was dragged over to the girl, grumbling softly and pulling back on his leash, the chain clinking softly as he did so. "Why do I have to?" A hand moved up to rub at the side of his head Ezra had hit.

Avian noticed the Doggy Man not only acting like a dog, but being treated like one. The way his "owner" yanked on his leash made her cringe a little, her animal loving heart aching a bit. She wanted to go up and maybe help the Doggy Man...but as usual she wasn't near brave enough. So as usual, she slowly began closing her sketchbook and packing up her pencils. Maybe somebody else would come along and stand up for the Doggy Man. She allowed her one, visible cerulean to linger on the canine-like man for a little longer.
Curiosity often got the better of her and she'd gaze on at strangers like a rare bird. What intrigued her most about him was the tattoo on his face she had sketched earlier. Realizing it was rude to stare at markings or scars, Avian looked down and went back to packing up her art bag.
