If there was a feeling, that could only be described as "Disney princess", Camille would've been pretty damn close to that feeling. Hell, he was almost swimming in it. He was just way too happy over him and Kal getting together. It all felt like some fairytale for Cam, even if it sounded cheesy as fuck. Kal was just as cheesy as Cam and that was exactly why he liked the guy so much.
It was gradually gettinh chillier outside, but despite that Cam was prancing through the woods like it was spring and all the flowers were in bloom. The animals around him, that Cam could now understand, were all talking about how the fall was coming or how they had to collect food. But Cam was too lovestruck to actually let that into his ears. Nothing could ruin his great mood. Well, the fact that Kal had to work dampened it a bit, but not enough to strip Cam of those rose-coloured glasses he had on.

Cam was in his fae form, and it was great to be able to smell and hear better, and he could feel the earth under his three feet. His right back leg was missing, just how Cam lacked a right leg in his human form. Cam had a custom-made bag around him, that was tightly closed and contained his prosthetic leg, wallet, keys and such other necessary equipment.
Cam, if he had been able to, would've hummed some disney princess some. Shit like "So this is love" or "Once upon a dream" or "Some day my prince will come". Normally Cam would've slapped himself over those kinda thoughts, but right now he was too giddy to care he was going off the rails cringy with this mood. Well, it was not like there was anyone around seeing him. At least Cam couldn't hear or smell anyone.
Cam hopped over a fallen tree, but couldn't see a tree branch on the other side that had snapped at the base, leaving a jagged stump on the trunk. But his bag caught on it, and Cam was yanked back and hit his head on the tree trunk. Quite hard, he might've added, since that knocked the rose-coloured glasses right off. Cam tried to stand up properly, but the bag was tangled in an awkward position, preventing him from doing anything else than hanging strangely, his front feet off the ground. Cam let out some frustrated fox sounds as he tried getting himself free, in vain.

It was only natural that a nature-connected spirit would like to spend some time outside rather than being closed inside of the small rooms of the academy. Well, Leila wasn't really quite aware of the fact that she was a full-on spirit just yet, but that did not change things in the least. It was pretty much instinctive, translating as some sort of desire, her preferred environment. And so she was happily lying on a thick branch connected to one of the many trees in this place. It really was quite good to see that there were proper woods on this Island, as the girl would probably go insane otherwise.

She didn't even mind the fact that she chose a spot that no other person would ever describe as comfortable to lay on. She just had her eyes closed, humming to herself a quiet melody as the light that made it's way through the leaves above her warmed up her body. A passing thought reminded her that she should probably try to get some local clothes, as she still wore what she brought with herself from her own world, a tight-fitting leotard with a purple and green short skirt and skirt above it. And surely, shopping in this place would be a valuable experience for her as well, wouldn't it?

As she made this mental notes and plans, however, she suddenly heard something in distance. It was faint, a sound that many would probably ignore as an animal being nearby. But as she listened to the Forest itself, it became clear to her that she should go investigate, just in case. Swiftly hopping down from the elevated point, she performed a masterful landing on the grass-covered ground and started sprinting in the direction from which she heard the sound. And sure enough, she soon found herself looking over some manner of creature that got stuck on a tree... somehow.

"Oh dear, hang on!" Being the nature-loving spirit she was, Leila did not hesitate in attempting a rescue. Quickly rushing over it and seeing what was the problem. It appeared that this creature was wearing some sort of bag that got caught on the snapped branch. Was it actually intelligent? Well, there no time to think about that now! Placing her hands on the fallen tree, the girl worked her magic as the world suddenly start shifting, moving around and the branches twisting. It might have been fallen, but it was still part of nature. Soon enough, the creature was completely free with Leila squatting next to it, looking it over to see any potential injuries. "Are you okay, buddy?"

Cam was starting to consider turning back into his human form, even though he might not be better off or maybe even worse off like that, but after some useless wiggling it was becoming clear he wasn't able to get off. But before Cam could he heard someone approaching and he turned to look towards the direction they were coming from, his ears twitching. And what do you know, soon a girl came in sight and Cam started letting out frustrated fox sounds and wiggling, hoping the girl was here to help. And she was, though she did it in an unusual way. Rather than snapping the branch Cam was stuck on she set her hands on the tree itself and apparently did some nature magic. The fallen tree started moving and twisting and Cam's branch did the same, freeing him and dropping him on the ground. Cam shook himself, his feet had started to fall asleep, and turned to look at the girl that had helped him. Her aura was pretty, and it was a vibrant green like the nature that was surrounding them. She was a nice person, and Cam did a small fox smile and bowed a bit towards her as thanks when she asked if he was okay. But it seemed like she thought Cam was a real animal, and he lifted his chin to show her the shifter tags on his neck. Cam didn't want to shift and scare the poor girl.

It appeared that the creature was indeed completely fine, that was good. It even warranted a sigh of relief from Leila's side as she knelt down and stared back at this pretty being's eyes. "I know this is probably your natural environment, but you still have to be careful! Anything at all can happen, as we just learned~" It really seemed like this 'fox' was able to understand, so the girl did not hold back in trying to help it verbally as well.

But observing what it was doing in front of her, she just couldn't quite help herself. Extending her hand forward carefully, she waited if it would let her approach that close. And if it did, she would rather affectionately try to pat it and scratch it behind the ears, as well as around the neck. Which was the point where she noticed something being around that area. "Huh... runes maybe? If it's a protective ward then it kinda failed. Never seen anything like it though... do you by any chance have an owner?" She spoke only to herself, albeit out loud, at first. But the question at the end was very much directed at the creature as the girl wondered if it could answer her somehow.

Oh boy, this girl completely thought Cam was a real fox. Well, couldn't really blame her, this island had many magical wild animals. But she didn't even seem to recognize the shifter tags, though the scratches behind Cam's ears and on his neck felt nice. He did, however, shake his head when the girl wondered out loud if Cam had an owner. Cam thought he'd just have to spook the girl, he wanted to thank her face to face and speaking.

Cam stepped away from the girl and started his shift. Silver mist surrounded him completely and obscured him from sight, and few moments later Cam emerged from the mist. A beautiful person whose gender was not easy to identify, he had long brown hair in a braid on his back and a stylish light blue trench coat and black jeans. And naturally his right leg was missing, and he had a sunny wide smile on his face.
"Hey there~ It was really sweet of you to help me. My head was so high in the clouds I could've hit my forehead on the sun."
Cam laughed a bit while balancing on his left leg, waiting for the girl's reaction.

The fact that the creature was so easily able to understand and was clearly magical in some way with the runes and its very nature made Leila really wonder if it was a Kitsune of some kind. And such wonder was about to be shuffled a fair a bit as the fox started to move back, leaving the silver-haired maiden a bit puzzled. Though that was nothing in comparison to what was about to happen in only a few moments. Watching the mist suddenly appear, she got up from her kneeling position and took a single step back while being just a bit cautious, just in case.

What emerged was... probably a boy? She wasn't quite sure, regardless, her expression was somewhat blank while she tried to process what she was witnessing before she took a step forward again. "So it was a Kitsune after all! Wow, that is a good transformation! No, wait... I don't see a tail..." Now she was confused again. Were there ones without tails? Was he maybe hiding his with an illusion? That was her thought process because Kitsunes were creatures she had already met in the past, hence why her mind jumped to it. "Oh, and hello..."

Cam couldn't help but chuckle ag the girl wondering what he was outloud. Yup, he didn't have a tail, and Cam twirled just to clear that assumption. All he looked like was a normal human, only with abnormally blue eyes. And he was very good-looking on human standards, but maybe just normal on an island filled with supernaturally beautiful people.
"Just to get it out of the way, I'm fae-touched. Fae sorta fucked with me and now I can turn into a big blue fox."
Cam explained and laughed at himself, and then reached out his hand for a handshake.
"I'm Camille, but just call me Cam, okay?'

Fae-touched. Unfortunately, that didn't say much to the girl who came from a completely different world to this island in the first place. But it certainly made her wonder at least a little bit. "So that kind of power is not your own, but comes from another being... how curious..." The words were again mostly for herself, but she made sure to quickly cut herself off and look back at the boy.

"Ah, my apologies... name's Leila Vergious. I, um... recently arrived at the local academy. A pleasure to meet you!" She then tried to introduce herself as she carefully shook his hand. She felt a little awkward since she had no idea how strongly she should put force on his body due to his leg and the balance problems that it surely caused for him.

"Right, uh... you're fine now, yes?"

Huh. It seemed like the girl didn't know what a fae touched was. It was a pretty common term on the island, or at least Cam had noticed many people knew what a fae touched was. And automatically felt sorry for him since the fae touched were usually victims of the fae and their tricks, which Cam indeed was, but he didn't like the automatic assumption. So this was pretty refreshing, not to be automatically pitied. Cam smiled widely at the girl, he liked her.
"Curious indeed, and pretty damn handy."

So Leila was new. Oh, she was in for a rollercoaster ride on this island, for sure. Cam gave her hand a warm and firm shake, his balance remaining steady and sure.
"Great to meet you too, Leila! And wwlcome to the island. Or should I say welcome to the madness."
Cam said and snickered at his little joke. After the handshake Cam pulled out his prosthetic from the bag he had around him and attached it, stepping with it on the ground a couple of times.

"Oh, yeah. Completely fine. I hang from tree branches at least twice a day, keeps the body limber."
Cam joked with a chuckle and did a few exaggerated stretching movements.
