Hello everyone!
We have some of the highest participation in the Spotlight voting each month of active RP forums our size. That's amazing!
However, only a small percentage of people nominate each month, and it's been brought to my attention that there is some confusion surrounding the Spotlights.
This post will highlight what the Spotlights are, and some basic guidelines for submitting nominations. Please remember, these are just guidelines to help you if you are stumped. You are welcome to nominate a Member, Character, and Thread of your choosing based on your own criteria.

About the Spotlights
Spotlights are a way for the community to acknowledge our members for their contributions to our forums.
The Spotlights are not a "best of" category, but an acknowledgement that the Member, Character, or Thread has made a positive impact on the community. :)
Members, Characters, and Threads are nominated and voted upon by the community each month. The winners for each category are displayed upon our banner for the following month.
Members, Characters, and Threads that have recently won an Spotlight are not eligible for nomination. These members will be listed on both the Past Spotlight Winners thread and the top of the Nominations Post for the current month.
Spotlight Member:
The spotlight member of the month should be an active member of the community (i.e. a member who has posted or participated in the c-box in the last 31 days). Member Spotlights don't have to be a new member or an old member! Anyone is eligible unless stated otherwise.
Stumped? Here are some things to consider.
Have you seen a member reach out to others in the c-box? Participate in plotting, or RP in the ICbox? Have you witnessed a member with a great deal of energy or friendliness? Has a member RP'd with you or others, or come up with great plot ideas? Consider nominating them for the Spotlight!
Spotlight Character:
All currently accepted characters are eligible for Spotlight Character nominations.
You are able to nominate your own characters.
Stumped? Here are some things to consider.
Have you heard a lot about this character in the ICbox, the forums, or the plotting chat? Does the character have an interesting name, power, or history? Consider nominating the character for the Spotlight!
Spotlight Thread:
The Spotlight Thread should be a thread that is either currently being posted in, or recently finished. It does not have to have been posted in within the month of the nomination, but we encourage you to pick active threads.
It can be a thread you have created or are participating in. If the thread is a large group thread (more than three players), only the original creator of the thread will be eligible for the medal.
While in-character threads are preferred, threads from the alternate universe, social media, and community lounge are acceptable. Threads from the Free for All Section are not eligible for Spotlight nomination.
Stumped? Here are some things to consider:
You don't have to have read the threads you nominate. If you hear people talking about a particular thread in the c-box, see a thread constantly pop up in recent posts, or see a thread happen as a result of a wanted ad/plotting forum post, feel free to nominate it!
Ineligible Nomination
Members of the staff team (admins, mods, and cbox rangers) are not eligible to be nominated for member spotlight.
Official Event Threads (example:"The Masquerade Ball," "Snowball Fight (Official)," "Picnic in the Park," etc) are not eligible for Spotlight Thread nominations.
For example, the staff-created event thread "Official Masquerade Ball Event" is not eligible. However, if a member creates a thread that takes place during the masquerade ball, this is eligible.
