The moment was here, and it had come in a rush when the darkest part of night had arrived. Both on Manta Carlos and on her home plane. When it all started Kaya feared the worst and didn't know what to do in the shock of things. But here she waiting for news in a waiting room. When she had begun to hear Sarah's and Sylvia's pain filled screams Kaya wanted to break who ever had caused her pain. But that would have just been herself. In a way she was feeling guilty for putting her lovely ladies in pain.
However Kaya also knew what was coming. Their darling daughter. Darcy... what would she look like? Would she have Kaya's skin with horns and tail, or would they look more human and have her mothers' beauty. So Kaya paced as her thoughts drifted around trying to think of many different things at the same time. Should they stay in the Shadow Realm or come here to the Isle on a more permanent basis? Kaya's home would require constant tests of strength and will from her child. Perhaps it would be a good idea to have them grow away from the struggles of demon life at least to start.
Thoughts only continued to tumble over one another as Kaya continued to have her hooves click on tile flooring. After a while Kaya found herself looking out the window into the dark cloud filled sky. There were no stars out tonight, could that mean something? In Kaya's home the number of stars in the sky would change, but there was never no light from the sky.
As she stood there watching the sky for an unknown amount of time Kaya heard footsteps approaching. Upon turning she saw a nurse coming towards her. "Mam, we have some good news and some bad news." The nurses voice was filled with sorrow as the spoke.
Even hearing that there was good with the ill Kaya could feel her heart sinking. "What happened?"
"The child was delivered healthy and they are being moved to the nursery. They should be released to you in a few days at most. Unfortunately, the mother... it was a hard labor for her. Though she's still alive. She seems to have fallen asleep and will not wake."
Kaya took a step back, she couldn't help but think to herself and ask if there was anything she could have done. "But they are both alive?"
The nurse nodded. "Yes, though we are unsure as to what is keeping the mother from waking and we are doing everything in our power to wake her." The nurses voice still held that tone filled with sorrow. Almost likely the felt guilty for not being able to help bring a new mother together with their child.
"I- I understand. C....can I see my child?" Kaya felt in her heart as well as hear in her voice that she was breaking inside. Even though she and her loves hasn't known each other long. They had all still loved each other. Kaya was going to pay for Sylvia and Sarah's hospital bills and she would raise their daughter to the best of her abilities.
After she had spoken the nurse had motioned for Kaya to follow. It wasn't long before she was standing, in a kinda cliched way, in front of a window into the nursery. There were many children in tiny little beds, all unique. But Kaya only had eyes for a baby she felt with body and soul was her daughter. She lay there skin cream white with hair as black as a nights sky. The very tips of the fine covering of hair a bright white like their mothers. Though Kaya couldn't see the rest of her daughter she knew that she was a beautiful human-like baby. Seeing her made tears come to Kaya's eyes. "My little Darcy... you look so beautiful... and I will keep you safe."
