The small waves which formed at the edge of the lake suddenley burst apart with a large splash as a purple-tinted dolphin leapt out from them, heading straight for the sandy beach and ultimately to become a beached dolphin. However, as the marine-mammal hit the soft whitened sand of the shore, it instantly let off a small bright glow and began to twist and turn at an incredible speed, until with a small blast of violet energy there appeared where the dolphin has laid a fairly short, but nonetheless happy-looking boy, no more than 15 years old, and with an expression that suggested he'd just stepped off a rather thrilling rollercoaster ride.
"Never swam that far, that fast before!" The boy, Joseph Crow, exclaimed to himself before giving the surrounding area a quick glance-around, before proceeding on his way at a brisk step.
His legs moving quite quickly as his eccentric excitement for what lay ahead began to sink in and dominate his thoughts, Crow didn't realise he was overtaking a surly-looking twelve-year-old with a can of beer in his hand until he almost walked into the poor lad. Avoiding the 'near-disaster' in time, Crow stumbled slightly before the boy before saying with an appologetic nod,
"Sorry about that! Wasn't looking where I was going!" Crow had a feeling his generally friendly but slightly over-the-top tone wasn't going to go down with this kid, "The name's Crow! Joseph Crow, to be exact. What's your name?"
He extended his hand.
