Standing in the police station, waiting for an officer with her lawyer, Zora looked like she felt - decidedly small, uncomfortable and panicky. It wasn't the first time she had been at a police station, it wasn't the first time she had voiced her concerns about her brother either. But today hopefully, it wouldn't be like those last times where she had not been believed or told they couldn't investigate or they wouldn't investigate what they believed was a "family grievance".
Throwing someone down the stairs, random breakins, threats, even the odd attack by unseen assailants had been dismissed as unfortunate events. And so her trust in the police was not very good and Zora prayed that they'd listen to her and not think she was making up stories or trying to get attention.
