Today was the big day Arthesia thought as she laid in her bed squirming a bit thinking about the long day she was going to have today. Today was December 25th the day of giving and spending time with your loved ones. For many years Arthesia spent Christmas alone and missed her family on this day but this year... there was someone that was special to her that was going to spend the holidays with her which made her blush slightly as she thought about him. Arthesia sat up and placed her hand on the side of her face as she looked over towards the small wooden box sitting gently on her vanity. She wondered how Liun would react to his gift and she wondered how she would even go about giving it to him. This worried her slightly but as she thought about all the hard word she put into his gift she had some courage and tried to pump herself up to doing it. Shaking her head side to side to try and clear thoughts she clapped her hands and decided to get a start on her day.

(Later that day around 4pm)
Arthesia checked her refrigerator to see if she had everything somewhat ready to go. She lifted up on the Carmel-Peacan Apple pie that she made about 4 hours ago to see if it had set correctly and was happy with the result. She had to remind herself to put the pie back in the oven to warm it up before they eat. She closed the refrigerator after she made sure she had everything set but knew she would most likely check there again in 5 mins as she was making herself nervous to try and get everything perfectly made for their holiday dinner and dessert. She then walked over towards the oven to check on her 5 pound boneless Cranberry Glazed Ham. It looked like it was cooking wonderfully and she looked over at her clock seeing that is has already been in the oven for about an hour and needed to cook for at least another hour. She whispered to herself trying to remind herself to make sure to keep applying the cranberry mix glaze every so often.
Arthesia paced back and fourth trying to think if she was forgetting anything. Her apron strings flowed slightly as she walked back and fourth and her long green hair bobbled back and fourth as she had her hair tied up in a pony tail to make sure she did not get her hair near the food. Thinking about it for a moment she recalled that she forgot to start making the mashed potatoes. She looked over at the clock and remembered Liun saying he was going to arrive around 5:00pm so she had about 1 hours so she still had enough time to make the mashed potatoes. She looked around for the potatoes and was starting to panic somewhat as she did not see them anywhere. She looked to see if she put them in the refrigerator but they were not there then she looked back on her counter which had recipe lists which she wrote herself based on things she made in the past. She then checked her cupboards and saw that one of them had a medium sized basket that had hand picked vegetables that she made in her garden. Pulling out the basket she looked and saw her potatoes and sighed in relief as she put the basket on the counter.
After looking over the potatoes she wondered if she even had enough for the two of them. Was 5 enough? They looked somewhat big and she tried to visualize to see how much it would make. She thought about this for a moment before hearing her doorbell ring which surprised her. Who would be visiting her on Christmas? It could not be Liun as he said he was going to be at her place around 5. Bewildered she left her kitchen and walked down one of the hallways leading to the front door. She then opened the door and to her surprise it was Liun! Why was Liun here early?? Arthesia thought to herself a bit worried as she did not have the dinner done yet not to mention she was not at all dressed up or anything. She felt slightly embarrassed as she was just wearing her traditional elven silk like nightdress and a shawl that helped to keep her warm not to mention she had her earth day apron on that has a picture of the earth poorly drawn and a butch of color glittered glue spelling out names. She use to teach a small class of kids about growing food and plants and every April they use to celebrate Earth day and her students made this apron for her in thanks. She blushed slightly and addressed Liun. "Hello Liun... your early." she said wondering if maybe there was a change in plans?
