Celeste turned slightly towards the door as Peregrine walked in. One of her older students, but definitely one of the more keener ones, very intent on learning and who actually seemed to be there because they enjoyed the experience.

"Not at all, Mr Walter. You are right on time actually. We were just welcoming Mr. Mayakovsky to the class,' she informed Peregrine.

"Now, now Ms. Forestier, I wouldn't want Miss Drakengardt feeling left out. Honestly, this fascination you have with me is most improper," he quipped, pressing a hand to his heart and looking faux-scandalized. Turning to Peregrine, he said "Welcome, Mr. Walter. Apparently we will be preparing sushi today - assuming Ms. Forestier can acclimate to the sudden heat in the room," he added with a smirk.

Oh man, this dude was so full of himself. Ava hid an amused smirk, and instead glanced at Peregrine who had just come in. Wasn't this dude a bit too old for this class? And how did he have such a good but bad timing? Since he had missed the cringy but funny scene from earlier.
"Funny you should mention heat..."
Ava muttered to herself and snickered, Celeste's boyfriend was called Hotplate so that certain way of putting it was hilarious.

Celeste glanced at Ava and squinted hard when the young Drakenhardt snickered and made the heat comment. Celeste could easily guess what or who she was referencing and felt herself going red. Oh boy, she thought in quiet dismay, today's class was going to be interesting.

"Okay, enough," Celeste said firmly. wanting to put an end to the bantering before it got into her private life somehow, "Let's just get started on the sushi recipe."

And with that, she started explaining how they would need to take the rice - which was now cooled hopefully - and measure out the rice vinegar, salt and sugar and add it to the rice and mix it together thoroughly.

Peregrine walked over to one of the stations, giving a look at the other two students. He didn't particularly recognise either of them, but he assumed the student not in uniform was the newer one. Peregrine narrowed his eyes at Cesare for a moment before his face returned to neutral, and he stiffly nodded in greeting.

Internally he decided that today it would be best he kept to himself. Seemed like he wouldn't get along with the other two students in the room. With that thought in mind, he focused on watching Celeste with genuine interest. He had heard of sushi, it being one the foods various students had recommended him, but he still hadn't tried it yet. Peregrine listened to the instructions carefully before he would begin to follow them, his movements much slower to make sure he followed correctly.

For all his earlier playing around, Cesare listened intently as Celeste explained how to begin preparing the rice. He'd never actually prepared food before - that's what chefs were for - and he didn't want to mess it up. Not that he really cared about the sushi in and of itself, but it was the principle of the thing - Whatever he did, his did well.
Looking down at his own set of materials, he began to measure the ingredients into the proper proportions, enjoying the novelty of using measuring cups and spoons.

"Very good," Celeste said as she moved about the stations, making sure each student was mixing their ingredients properly into the rice. When she had checked each students' bowl of rice, Celeste went back and handed out to each station the fish which she brought out of the fridge.

"Now, take the fish and slice each piece very thinly," Celeste instructed as she handed out the plates of pieces of tuna, salmon and a variety of other fish and seafood to each student.
