Private Surprise Meetings

"Of course I look younger than 200. Is there any 200 year old that looks their age?" Casey answered with a snort of their own. "And what's a 17-year-old doing calling someone kid - I'm sure I don't look that young. "

"Oh I am blind right now. But - You'll see. I was taking a break." Casey said as they headed out the door. They didn't go far from the centre, sitting back on their haunches and tilting their head towards Eein again. "Now we wait. It takes a bit. I just wanted to be outside to save our noses a bit from the smell of flowers. Also just in case you needed room to shift. If you want."

It would be a couple minutes before Eein would be able to see anything at all, but then Casey winced as the vines began to poke out through their skin. "Yes, before you ask, this is as uncomfortable as it looks. So let's talk about anything else... You go to the school here?"

"Height isn't everything you know. Sometimes you can't beat experience. And I definitely have more of that than a 17-year-old." They tilted their head, considering, "Even a ridiculously tall one. "

Once the vines had grown out through their skin, the worst of it was over, though it still stung enough that Casey was distracted and not really paying attention to Eein's answers.

"I'm from the tree like you said. It never stays anywhere long, and this place seems nice enough. The older inhabitants might tell you about our original planet." They shrugged one set of arms, "But I've never been there."

Finally, three strongly scented roses bloomed from the vines on Casey's back and they looked up at Eein, taking a moment to adjust to the light.
