Appearance Description: A short man, Stephen stands at a modest five feet and nine inches. The man has short pale orange hair which he usually keeps in place with a few swift brushes of a comb and hairspray. Overall, Steve's complexion is pale and very white, a surprising feature considering how much time he spends out in the sun or his upbringing in the American Southwest. The man's eyes are a dark brown, unflinching and filled to the brims with inner turmoil. For the most part beyond this, he has a normal face with no real marks or quirks.

His upper body is fairly lanky, following the pattern of an ectomorph regardless. His hands are slightly larger than they should be, yet not enough to warrant any real fear or whatnot. His chest and back are fairly normal, his arms as well. Overall the man's body is common with no real abnormalities or the like, there is the occasional scar here or there but beyond this his legs and the rest of him are quite unremarkable. He is somewhat built but still leans more on the lanky side of fitness.

Personality Description: Steve is a bit strange, with beliefs and quirks both forged in and strengthened by his journies across the oceans. The three factors that tend to be the most forefront are his slight coffee obsession, a propensity for making shitty jokes as often as possible, and very pacifistic tendencies.

Coffee was Steve’s first vice, and remains the most prominent to this day. Having more or less tried all there was to try in terms of the drink from fine blends of every roast to a multitude of flavor enhancers, he eventually settled on the notion that simple is best. Ignored by most people due to its harsher tones, his preferred variety of bean is Robusta and preferred method of drinking is black, sometimes with a dash of salt- a trick he learned in the South Pacific.

In terms of speaking, Steve does it often. Being a stronger speaker than he is a fighter, it ends up being how he solves most of his problems, but he tends to be more light-hearted than anything else. This extends to even more dire situations, where he will crack a joke at best and simply try to stay level headed at worst. In general, he is a very casual person, though even he has points where he snaps into a more serious mode where he acts more like a negotiator than a friend.

Steve and pacifism have a bit of a mixed relationship. Starting out against hurting people completely before loosening his standards until he ultimately regretted his actions, he has become less prone to violence now than at any other point in his life. Seeking to work things out as best he can with words and logic rather than exchanging blows, it has gotten to the point where he has no outright offensive moves in his arsenal, preferring fleeing instead.

Just because he is a pacifist and admittedly a bit of a masochist, Steve is surprisingly not much of a push-over. Maintaining an utter disregard for personal safety, he tends to be self-sacrificing to an alarming degree. He is also outspoken on his beliefs and doesn’t waiver from them lightly, which often translates to him not so subtly trying to coax others into making choices in line with his brand of morality.

Despite his open nature and rather strong will, Steve still deals with a good bit of insecurity and suffers from a lack of direction. Even though he has a good idea what he believes in, he doesn’t have a real ambition or goal to drive him forwards. He justifies his travels as a soul-searching endeavor at times, but the closest thing to the truth is probably that he seeks validation by helping others, as well as dealing with his cowardliness that day when he abandoned his friends to their deaths. On top of his ghosts haunting him, he tries to understand and learn more about the supernatural so as to be a better representative for humanity, taking his job seriously despite running on coffee and sports drinks these days.

Species Abilities: None. A regular human.

Powers: Despite being a normal human, Steve does have a few skills he's learned over the years that could be considered 'powers' of sorts do to their advanced skill. These abilities usually reflect his normal physical abilities as a human, despite a greatly advanced intellect through the sciences.
  • Human Calculator. Having graduated top of his class at one of the best Engineering universities in America as well as served as a logistics manager and chief engineer for the Navy, Steve has a skill in crucnhing numbers instantaneously in his head, solving complex problems or physics based dilemas with ease. In his role as Director of Human Resources for Starlight Academy, he uses this 'gift' to deal with the plethora of logistical and manpower problems constantly hitting the university. Dealing with the construction of new buildings, calculating wages for staff, tracking records and trends, importing required food, and many many more daily problems. Only a multi-tasking genius such as Steve could manage the many different strands in a constantly growing web.

Biography: Stephen McQueen was born into a normal family in San Diego, USA. The older of two siblings, the younger being his sister Agatha, Stephen was a fairly unassuming youth. An earnest desire to learn at school, a love of the arts even at a young age, and a clear talent for math and science stood out in these formative years. The child got along with others well enough at school, but still preferred to remain somewhat aloof, watching cartoons for much of his childhood in the 80's while others played sports or got into drugs. For the most part though, the boy's childhood was uneventful. High School was similar really, Stephen had never been much of an athlete, instead preferring to join groups like the chess club in his spare time. Still, as these years flew by, his skill with numbers and calculations seemed to become only more evident, competing in math tournaments around the state as well as winning the national cup for his school. This last achievement proved to be the most impactful of his early life, as it was ultimately the very thing that got him into college.

Moving to Boston, Steve went to MIT to study Engineering, something he had a passion for despite it keeping him up to 2am with 5 cups of coffee. It was a pretty simple existence, he'd get up in the morning, grab his coffee and bagel from the local cafe, and sit in a dark room in front of a computer screen for the next 5 or so hours save for lunch. Truth be told, he sort of enjoyed how dull and simple it was. With not much interest in interacting with other people, his grades, the sole focus of his time and attention, shot up to become the best of his class, allowing him to graduate in the #1 spot. From here, now an adult wandering aimless, Steve surprised most of those close to him by deciding to join the Navy as an Engineer to help pay off his student loans.

For the next 8 years, Steve sailed across the world, crunching numbers for nuclear aircraft carriers as well as for his personal savings. Helping pull of logistical feats, keep the ships going, and play the occasional game of chess, Steve found that life in the military wasn't all that bad. 80% the time nothing interesting was happening, something he found to be familiar in a way. Still, that bad 20% was made all the more frightening by its sudden nature. As such, Steve found his mind starting to be weighed down by the mental toll of seeing the terrors of war, even from a distance or indirectly. His condition worsening, as well as his physical health, Steve was assigned one last operation before he could be honorably discharged.

The task had been supposedly simple, investigate reports of insurgents operating in the South Pacific and see if they were true. Unfortunately, what they accidentally stumbled upon wasn't human, literally. A strange ritual had summoned an Archdemon from hell, though the former group's identity remained unknown. Steve and his group did what they could, but, ultimately, the human became petrified at seeing how effortlessly the demon slaughtered the humans and viciously devoured them. Petrified, pissing his pants, Steve abandoned the rest of his troop, leaving them to their fate and running for his life as a coward while he heard their screams behind him. Hopping into their transport, he fled for his life, never once looking back. When he finally returned to the carrier, he was in utter shell shock, claimed to be clinically unstable from unknown trauma, going on about 'demons killing them all'.

For a few years, Steve tried to sort out what he had seen, but not no avail. Instead, the man slipped into a deep depression, beginning to contemplate taking his own life over his guilt for abandoning his friends when they had needed him most. It was only upon receiving a strange letter one day, inviting him for a job interview at a private school that he was pulled out of his stupor. Not knowing the name of the island or recognizing the school, Steve arrived to find he had stepped into another world. Monsters, aliens, strange creatures... and Demons- they all walked around the campus of the school freely in peace. Alarmed, but still interested, the man met for an interview for the recently vacated role of Director of Human Resources, a job he was supposedly a prime candidate for due to his logistical skills and experience with the supernatural.

Apparently, despite feeling somewhat unfit for the job, Steve was given an offer. Having nothing else worth living for, and still feeling guilty for fleeing his brethren, the human accepted the headmistresses offer and joined the faculty in one of its administrative roles. Currently, he works in the main School Offices, usually with multiple empty mugs of coffee littered around his room atop the MANY stacks of paperwork he deals with. Although the ghosts of his past still haunt him, Steve now tries to live his life with a renewed purpose, hoping to make the most out of the life he thinks he has no right to live, as well as try to mold the minds of tomorrow's supernatural for the better, representing humanity in the process.

Additional Information: Is there anything else to take note of?
