Jordan flinched at the sound of the snapping pencil. At first she thought it might've been the lake cracking and instinctively scooted back a few paces. She looked at the other two people, hoping they hadn't seen her poor display of courage.

Laetus smirked. "I could grant such a wish." He said as he took a standing position, his toes hanging down just above the frozen water, his arms crossed. His smile seemed quite a bit sinister.
"If you ever find him, I am more than willing to kill him."
A portal opened up behind him, letting out a wave of heat.
"In whatever way you chose."
The ice started to fracture from the heat.
"Drown the bastard in lava, perhaps."
Laetus laughed.
"Would this make you happy?"

With the tone change came a change in the music that poured from his headphones.

The way Laetus spoke made Jordan uneasy. And the portal certainly didn't help. She felt the heat on her skin and inched away slowly, watching Laetus at the corner of her vision. For a moment, she wondered what Cardamon must be thinking. Whoever this wizard was, Jordan was just glad it wasn't her. Anger a fairy? Are you completely mad?

Just then she realized how quiet she must seem. So, she coughed. Really? she thought. That's what you came up with?
