"Oh!" Annaleise had almost forgotten that she gave the boy a shell as a present. It didn't look nearly as pretty as the one he had gifted her, but it still was nice enough.
Annaleise followed his gaze out to the horizon. The sun was spilling over into the clouds, staining them with bright orange and pink.
"Worried? Nah, I live away from my parents. I live by myself in the dorms because I am a grown up! I can handle myself!" Though, that wasn't entirely true. She still had nannies and babysitters to tend to her, but once they went off duty, she imagined her caretakers were more than happy to rid their minds of her.

"Why, aren't yours worried? It's awfully late." She hoped Albus wasn't scared of the dark, anyway. That would make the walk back home much more difficult. She didn't like the dark much, either. "Should we go back? While there's still a little bit of sunlight left? I hate walking in the dark... You never know when something is going to pop out at you." Anna wrinkled up her nose accordingly. She hated surprises.
