Appearance Description: Solus usually appears to be a young man in his early to mid twenties. He’s 5'10" and generally wears average clothing but will change into more absurd outfits if the situation calls for it. He keeps his blond hair short and neat, and his eyes are blue with a very faint glow.
Most people assume that Sol is a simple superhuman, however the truth is he’s a phoenix. He rarely assumes this form, usually only at the end of 100 years during his rebirthing cycle and once again when he’s reborn. He stands at 15 feet in this form and is adorned in golden armor. His feathers are primarily red, however under certain light you can see hues of green and purple.
Personality Description: Over his lifetimes he has often been described as wise, though clever might be a better fit. Solus is generally well humored and witty through most of his interactions. Patients tend to find his demeanor reassuring, even if he has bad news. He’s very knowledgeable about ailments both natural and supernatural. Even if he lacks the means to fix it himself he knows someone who can. He’s also skilled at explaining such things to people who may not quite understand medical jargon that may get tossed out there.
Solus has a very strong sense of justice, and while he tries to keep his judgements to himself. This sense of justice has led him down the wrong path in the past, though he has since learned from those experiences.
Powers: Solus is a phoenix and like all phoenixes is effectively immortal via his resurrection ability. Once every one hundred years Solus assumes his true form and “dies” via burning away. After about a week’s time he is reborn, fully restored from any permanent damage that had been caused during the previous life such as a missing limb. Of course, being killed before the appointed time also triggers the cycle however it can take several weeks or months to return depending on the brutality of the death. His element, naturally is fire and as such he can manipulate flames from external sources or generate them himself. Fire can heal injuries such as cuts within a matter of seconds to a few minutes depending on their severity. Solus can also similarly heal minor wounds on others via his tears.
Holy Flames: In essence they’re the opposite of hellfire, and are a radiant gold in color. They’re capable of burning away sources that could be considered “evil”. As such if it comes into contact with a demon or a vampire they will feel an agonizing burning though this does not necessarily mean that they’ll burn up. Solus has learned to control its effects to the point that it will only physically burn what he tells it to. This fire can be used to ward off or contain evil creatures as well.
Healing magic: Thanks to his natural abilities full on healing magic and is able to treat most earthly diseases and several supernatural illnesses. If he can’t cure it, then he can at most diagnose it and possibly find a way to alleviate some of the symptoms. In term of physical injuries he can close up lacerations and heal broken bones with relative ease. Solus cannot grow you a limb back, or regenerate your organs. He can’t even do that to himself(unless he dies). If you have the limb though, he can reattach it good as new.
Biography: When Solus was still in his egg he was sold to a royal family and given to the eldest son of that family as a gift. It was simply assumed that he was just a simple exotic bird. Upon hatching, they quickly realized that he was no ordinary bird and was brought up with the young prince as an equal as opposed to a pet. Solus ultimately became a close advisor and friend to the prince and that prince’s son as well. The third ruler however, was short sighted and narrow minded, choosing to serve himself over his own kingdom and ultimately led it into ruin despite the warnings of Solus.
Solus spent several lives after those events as a wanderer. Still helping people, occasionally battling against monsters, and even at one point becoming a knight for a medieval kingdom. It was during his knighthood that he opted to take measures to ensure his lord remain in power. This included completely small things from covert assassinations to completely wiping out rival kingdoms. It took a vicious battle against a much stronger nation for him to see the error of his ways as he’d lost yet another kingdom and was left to wander.
Fast forward several lives and a few medical degrees to the present day. Solus currently runs a small clinic on the island of Manta Carlos where he’ll treat any and all who seek medical aid.
