Delaney smiled wide and bright when Ida agreed to be taught. This was awesome! As she was the youngest of all her siblings, she never got to be the teacher, only the student. She followed Ida's voice down the street and nodded, "You got a phone? Then we could text when we wanna meet up. Oh, I better start hitting up thrift stores for used machines." She might have to do some extra embroidery work to get the cash but thrift store sewing machines were hardly bank-breaking.

True to the donut shop worker's words, the store was only a little ways down. Delaney was busy thinking of ways to raise money for a machine but still kept an ear out for Ida's directions.

Phones... Ida wanted one but didn’t own one for herself. The technology didn’t exist where she was from and the small magic metal fascinated her, but regardless of how easy it seemed for everyone else to get one, she just didn’t have the money for it.

“I don’t got a phone, nah.” She spotted the store while she was talking and went right to pointing that out. “There’s the thing.” She pointed again.
“The Overflow thing.” She added.

She walked right up to the front of the building. “See, what’d I tell ya.” She slapped her hand against the building.

"Hmm," Ida not having a phone made things difficult, but not impossible. Right now, though, she had to celebrate finally arriving at the Overflow. Delaney grinned and mimicked the wall slap, "You told me you'd find it and you did! Thanks again, you are, like, a total life saver. I'm glad we ran into each other.

"Oh, do you go to the community center a lot? We can meet up there, like, tomorrow? And we can work out crafting lessons. Who knows, maybe you'll get good enough you can sell stuff for a phone." She added on a gut feeling that it would really entice Ida into going.

Ida smirked as she was praised. “Yeah yeah, don’t mention it.” It did not in fact sound like she didn’t want Dela to mention it.

“I guess sometimes...” Ida wasn’t so sure if the community center was such a great idea. There were a lot of terrible people there and if she ran into one there was a good chance they’d screw up the hero image in Dela’s head. Unfortunately she didn’t know any other place that wasn’t likely to suffer the same fate so it was probably risky either way. Work wasn’t really a thing she particularly enjoyed, but if she just had to craft and could make big money for a phone then it was probably worth it in her head.

“Yeah, I guess the center works, I’ve been there before.”

Delaney let out a little cheer as Ida agreed to meet up. Yes, it was very un-goth of her but she's also a teenage girl so cut her some slack. "Awesome, I'm so excited! I love crafting stuff and who knows, maybe you'll like it too and get really good at it!" She hesitated for a moment, then couched down to give Ida a clumsy but honest hug.

"I'll see you then, but right now I got some shopping to do. You take care, alright?" Delaney asked after she let go and stood again. Then, after finishing goodbyes, Delaney picked up Georgette's lead and finally entered the store she searched all day for.

Ida rolled her eyes as Delaney made a big deal of it. She somewhat humoured her by answering with a simple “Maybe.” Before Delaney went in for a hug. Ida tensed up, wearing a grouchy face but not exactly doing anything to stop the hug and more or less just accepting it. It was... nice.

Ida felt pretty confused, out of her element but not necessarily in a bad way. She seemed a little dazed, answering Dela before she headed away. “Yeah, I’ll be fine or whatever.”

She started heading back to the more familiar streets, fishing something out of her pocket. The key to her necklace, with the number 9981 engraved on it. 2 less than had been written there that morning.
