Ross shook his head. "I insist on paying for the first date...er, as friends."

Loser, loser, loser.

"Who? Me?" he asked. He laughed - which, in retrospect, might not have helped him plead his sanity. "I'm fine. Why?"

Danica laughed, just because.

"I don't know. You just seem... weird." Why he laughed when she asked, she didn't know, but she had just laughed for no reason as well, so maybe they were both a little... weird.

Ross couldn't help laughing.

"I am weird." I did not just say that. Please God, tell me I didn't just say that.

"Uh, da, um, shall wee go inside now? I mean, the mocie isn't going to start for a few minutes, but, er, maybe we could just sit in the dark alone?" Oh, dear.

Danica laughed. "Me too, sometimes."

Sit in the dark? Alone? What? she thought for a minute. Was this just a 'friends' thing, or did he like her? Maybe he just accidentally sounded that way...

She wrinkled her nose at him. "In the dark? Alone? Aren't you worried I'll turn into a vampire and start eating you or something?" She paused, cocked her head. "Or maybe you're a vampire..."

She grinned. "I guess."

Ross laughed. "I'm definately not a vampire. And if you were, you would've suggested sitting in the dark, not me."

He opened the door to escort her into the theater.
