"Do not let the darkness consume you."
Name: Sarah Davis
Age:
Birthday: December 7th
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Category: Citizen
Career: Leader of Mortal Coil (organization)
Appearance Description: Sarah stands at 6'1''. She has fair skin and wavy, dark brown hair that hangs down past the center of her back. She usually wears it in a ponytail to keep it from snagging on anything in battle. Her eyes almost seem unnaturally black, especially in the light. Sarah's body is toned from years of combat experience. However, multiple scars can be found on her body, including ones on her arms, legs, torso, and even one on the left side of her neck. To hide these scars, and her identity in general, she wears a long, black cloak that covers the entirety of her body, including a hood. Underneath this cloak are usually dark sweatpants and light a light colored t-shirt. Around her waist is a belt that has ten holders for throwing knives and two holsters for pistols.
Personality Description: Sarah might appear distant and nonchalant when you first meet her. This is because she's trying to assess you, not only to see if you're worth talking to, but to see if you're trustworthy. In her eyes, there's no telling who might be out to get you. However, even if she deems it okay to talk to you, it will take a while for her to open up.
Sarah is perfectly capable of being friendly and kind to the people she feels deserve it, but is also perfectly capable of being ruthless and unforgiving. That is what makes her dangerous. She can kill without remorse, and will do so if someone is attacking her with seemingly no intention of stopping. This rule also applies to animals and any other sentient being. Of course, she will give a fair warning, but that, there are rarely exceptions.
Sarah's views on certain topics can be rather cynical, but she is always down to hear what other people have to say. Any and all information can be helpful. However, when she's dead set on something, it's hard to change her mind. Sometimes, this can affect her leadership skills, which are usually helpful in battle.
Sarah is not usually the one to start a conversation, but it's not because she's shy. In fact, she has a liking for social situations. She just isn't the talkative type. However, Sarah is not the same when she's with her team. When she's with them, she feels like she can be as talkative as she wants. They all trust each other dearly. Neither of these personalities is a facade, either.
Species Abilities: N/A
Powers:
- Words of Darkness - Sarah mutters a word to enhance herself.
- Legnatrion (leg-nah-tree-ohn) - When Sarah speaks this word, she moves twice as fast. Basically, if it takes ten seconds for her to run to a car, it would take five seconds with the spell activated. This also applies to her reaction time. This spell lasts for thirty seconds, and she wouldn't be able to do it again for three minutes.
- Resberiot (rez-bury-it) - When Sarah speaks this word, her body's durability increases. With this, she can withstand strikes with blades from people with normal human strength. Bullets can lodge into her skin. However, concentrated attacks on any certain area will cause her skin to weaken, and ultimately pierce it. With this ability she can fall from the roof of a two story building unscathed. This spell also lasts for thirty seconds, and takes three minutes to be able to do again.
- Darkness Shaping - Sarah pulls shadows from her soul.
- Tendrils - Sarah puts a hand up to her right eye. This hand acts as a suction, and pulls four black tendrils from her eye. These tendrils are extremely flexible, but can't grow larger than their original size. They have the same durability as Sarah's skin with the Resberiot spell. They are capable of piercing humans. The tendrils are primarily used for offense, but can also be used for precise defense. Sarah can also use them for throwing throwing knives or utilizing melee weapons. This ability does not have a time limit like the others, but it's cool down depends on how long Sarah uses it. For example, if she uses it for a minute straight, and then retracts them, it will take a minute before she can use it again.
- Sarah is trained in many fields. She is trained in hand-to-hand combat and martial arts. She's an expert with small firearms (pistols). Her aim with throwing knives is impeccable. She is an expert in espionage, sticking to the shadows, and gathering information. A lie can escape her lips without a second thought, and she doesn't have many tells. She is able to easily traverse many environments with her skills in parkour.
- Sarah can use her tendrils while using a Word of Darkness.
- Sarah can identify other users of black magic.
Weaknesses/Limitations:
- After saying one Word of Darkness, Sarah must wait thirty seconds before using the other.
- Even if each word has a three minute cool down, she must use them sparingly, as each word slightly corrupts her soul. So do the tendrils.
- Legnatrion does not increase the speed of her tendrils.
- Bright lights cause her pain, but cannot kill her. She also can't use her tendrils under these conditions.
- Her tendrils can stretch up the twenty feet before they begin to strain her body.
- When using her tendrils, she cannot see out of that eye.
Biography: At a young age, Sarah was content with her life. She had many close friends. Her parents were loving and supporting. Her grades in school were great. At the time, that was all she really wanted. Anything more would be overwhelming.
However, all of that changed one day when Sarah was coming home from school. She stumbled upon a random book on the sidewalk. It was beat up and torn, and when Sarah picked it up to look at the cover, she found that it was in some kind of strange language. There was no one in sight, and she wasn't going to leave it there for someone irresponsible to get their hands on it, so she decided to take it home with her. If anyone was looking for it, she would gladly give it to them.
Once Sarah got home, she immediately ran to her room to read the book—or, tried to read, rather. There were no letters of the English alphabet, and the characters weren't ones she recognized, so she had not idea what to look up to try and find the language. Nevertheless, she skimmed the characters.
Time passed all too quickly, and before Sarah knew it, she had gotten half way through the book in thirty minutes. Although she hadn't done anything else at that time but read the book, she was extremely tired, and decided to take a nap right then and there.
When she woke up an unknown amount of time later, what sounded like a scuffle immediately caught her attention. She ran downstairs to find two strange men fighting in her kitchen. One had a crazed look in his blackened eyes, while the other looked terrified. Not knowing what to do, Sarah just stood there in terror, and could do nothing but watch as the corrupted man gruesomely tore into the normal man. Once he was done, he turned towards Sarah, and the feeling of terror from those blackened eyes was all that was needed to activate her black magic. She killed the man the same way he killed the other man.
Sarah found that she was oddly unfazed by this ordeal. She was suddenly compelled to go back upstairs, and once in her room, the book had a strange aura about it. Without having any evidence for her claim, she figured that the men were fighting over the book. Her parents weren't home yet, but once they got there, they would surely be terrified by their corrupted daughter--or, at least, that was her thought process. So, with a strange new sense of responsibility and fearlessness, Sarah fled from her home, hoping her parents would be fine without her.
From then on, Sarah resided in the shadows of dark alleyways and various buildings. She used the knowledge she gained from the book--which she eventually completed--to help her live. She resorted to thievery and robbery for food and other essentials, and eventually got involved in larger ordeals. This lead to her being kidnapped, tortured, injured, hunted, and many other things that would have broken her is she didn't have her black magic.
Years down the line, Sarah created an organization which she named "Mortal Coil." It was designed for people like her that started off as normal humans but went through many hardships and struggles only to become anything but normal. At first, she didn't have faith that it would gain any traction, but it eventually accumulated seven members including herself. She gained trust with these people to the point where she felt like she could trust her life with them. Months prior to coming to the Manta Carlos Islands--which she did to escape enemies closing in on her--the group temporarily separated to avoid getting caught. She's informed all of them on her location, and they've all planned to meet up soon.
