Born and raised in Kelowna, BC, many would liken Sarah to the average homely girl, but there is way more to her than meets the eye. A patient, cheerful and caring personality, there is definitely basis for others to assume Sarah a sweet, young and innocent girl who has yet to learn the lessons of reality. They would be wrong, however. She has been through a lot, and it is somewhat incredible that her attitude towards life has stayed the same even since.
// appearance
Sarah's appearance is a fairly rare case - she's white and a born and bred Canadian, but she has Asian-like features which sets her slightly apart from her fellow white Canadians, and causes her to struggle to prove her whiteness to others. She is 1.54m tall and keeps her weight a closely-guarded secret.

She complements her dark brown eyes with hair a deep brown and waist-length at longest. Her skin tone is caught in-between skin tones of whites and Asians.

Her normal fashion is a self-fashioned hybrid of traditional and arty styles, wearing time-honoured favourites while occasionally mixing it up with unconventional choices.

A classic T-shirt and jeans would do the trick in warmer climes, while one could see her wrapped up in scarves and hoodies, cardigans or sweaters during the winter. As such, she normally gives off a 'girl next door' vibe with elements of her style hinting at an innately arty dress sense. She sometimes wears glasses, although they are more to complement her look, since she has perfect eyesight.
// personality
Sarah is a joy to be friends with - she is an incredibly cheerful and caring character towards her friends and is willing to pull out all the stops to break down the walls of the more frosty individuals she attempts to befriend.

Some might even say that she sometimes gravitates towards attempting to befriend the colder of individuals, simply because it provides her a challenge that she could not turn down.

She has an infectious smile, is effusive with her positivity, and has patience to an angelic degree.

She cares deeply for friends and family and wants nothing more than for them to be happy. To that end, she is willing to sacrifice her own well-being to improve the lives of the people she comes into contact with.

She is fairly intelligent for her age, and is able to pick things up fairly quickly.

Yet, to classify her as a simple and one-dimensional caring and loving personality at face value is a mistake - she has a colourful, multi-layered personality that sometimes goes in tandem, or flagrantly contradicts her own usual demeanor.

She definitely has a limit to her temper - she has a vicious streak against those that particularly draw her ire, and if any relationship deteriorates beyond salvaging, Sarah has a tendency to go all out to erase her newly-made enemy's existence from her life and sometimes, the rest of the world's. She's kinda ruthless that way.

Left to her own devices, however, her true self comes to light. To say that she had a tormented past would be a masterstroke of understatement. She is a tortured soul - haunted by the ghosts of her past, her having to bear witness to the events she had borne has crippled her, almost to a fatal degree.

Seeing others being happy in her stead has become somewhat of an emotional crutch for her - a poisonous act for her psyche, no doubt, but whatever staved off the crippling depression for later.

What do your eyes see?
-------------
[WARNING: Implicit references to abuse, graphic imagery, and death.]

The mother I knew never looked as tired of life as she did right then. Not even when I first saw her face, when I opened my eyes after her nine-hour-long ordeal.

The mother I knew never wanted to leave as much as she did right then. The packed bags, the divorce papers, the shattered bottles, the safe-kept possessions. The secret account, the rental arrangement, the gun for protection, even the deed poll.

The mother I knew never drank this much after such a long night as she did right then. Only for Nate did she even drink anywhere near the amount she had splayed empty on the kitchen counter. I remember clearly - to have downed copious amounts myself. I had to.

It was semi-open - he was the palest in his sleep.

I would know. We grew up together. He left without me. He left me alone.
-------------
The father I knew never hit my mother as hard as he hit her right then. She still loved him. But no longer.

The father I knew never felt the amount of rage as he did right then. He should have stayed off the alcohol. The blood I'd seen had not pooled as much as they did right then. The knives I've seen had never shone with such an evil glint as it did in his hand right then. I had never hated anyone as much as I did right then.

I had never looked at someone with such a murderous glare as I did right then. The torment, the hurt, the hate, the longstanding animosity and the sheer injustice of it all - all of it, all in one glare, all in a transfixing gaze, as the raw emotions funnelled themselves through. Drunk people shouldn't have had to deal with such emotion, sure - but it was worth it that he was driven insane.

I've seen this much. I've grown used to it all. Yet I can't have a break. Ever. And the image of him that night keeps me up all night. The nightmares planted in my brain get me to scream in fear every so often.

Help me.

The letter was my big break - providing me the opportunity to channel my stress, my emotions, and my capabilities through magic, that they would help to improve? Yessiree.

Caught in the mire of BC social services, the one plus side was that it gave me much more freedom of correspondence. After all, the postmaster had a calling card for this very building. How fast could I escape continental Canada? Apparently really, really fast.

PERCEPTIVE EYES
To say that she's had an excellent eyesight is a masterstroke of understatement. Her eyesight has always been perfect, and even the most abusive of reading habits had not diminished her eyesight one bit. It's no wonder, then, that her eyes became the vectors for her powers, letting her see way more in others than meets the eye.

She is able to gaze through the windows of the soul into the minds and memories of others and can connect with others to an unprecedented scale. However long she uses her Perceptive Eyes, she will have considerable headaches for 5 times her abilities' duration after she disables the power.

Sunglasses are a good way to avoid direct eye contact - by obscuring direct eye contact, Sarah is considerably less able to activate her power. They also double the duration of subsequent headaches in relation to her powers' effective duration. Sunglasses temper her ability to project her powers through direct eye contact - they require twice the duration of uninterrupted eye contact in order for her abilities to activate, while spectacles require 1.5 times the duration of uninterrupted eye contact, and add a duration equivalent to her powers' effective duration to the overall duration of her subsequent headaches.

Recalling Eyes
The ability for her to dredge up the most significant or traumatic memories of whomever she achieves a prolonged period - ten seconds or more - of uninterrupted direct eye contact with. The memories can range from meeting the love of their life, to the death of their loved ones, spanning the entire spectrum of happiness and despair. The memories are then relived in both Sarah's and her target's minds. Sarah, of course, gains knowledge of this.

Telling Eyes
The ability for her to communicate telepathically with whomever she establishes five or more seconds of uninterrupted direct eye contact with. She is also able to project her own emotions onto others, having kept uninterrupted direct eye contact with her target for 7 or more seconds. She is unable to control her emotional output - if she is happy, her output would be the feeling of happiness, however if she is feeling nonchalant, her nonchalance would also be projected onto others.
