At 5'4", Revel is shorter than average, but he makes up for it with a lean, slender build and good posture. He generally seems relaxed and confident with his body, neither slouching or attempting to puff himself up to appear larger. His face is expressive and given to smirks and raised eyebrows. His eyes, though usually a very dark blue, occasionally flash silver, especially when he's tired. He has curly, medium-length, light brown hair with natural blond highlights. He has pianist's hands with long slender fingers. His blood is like liquid silver in either form. Revel is always dressed simply, in black, usually in a long-sleeved shirt and pants. The discorn doesn't accessorize, except for always wearing sunglasses if forced to be awake during the day, or under fluorescent lights. Often can be seen sucking on a lollipop or chewing on an empty stick, when not at work. Secretly likes flavoured lip gloss. He has a natural grace, especially when walking - he's the kind of person who saunters and manages to look elegant even when sprawled across a bench.
Revel's unicorn form appears to have been made from pure molten silver, which still swirls and shimmers when he walks. This form also seems somewhat out of focus even when looking straight at it, and will often flicker or appear to melt when seen from the corner of the eye. If the discorn were an actual horse he would be on the taller side of average for a medium-sized breed of horse, standing at 15 hands (5' at the withers). He weighs approximately 1/4 of the expected weight for a horse his size (266 lbs).
Personality Description:
The discorn uses a combination of therapy and abilities to subtly corrupt people, poison their mind, and/or bring out their darker side while pretending to help them. Often does help them with the issue they came in for, as a matter of professional pride, but leaves them changed somehow.
Why? First, because it's in his nature to cause trouble, and he is corrupted himself. Second, because he has set himself to this task and it requires artistry, precision, and an attention to detail. Third, because it's entertaining and he enjoys both the process and its results, as well as it enabling him to satisfy his curiousity about how the mind works, what will break it or bend it without breaking it, and how versatile a tool his abilities can be.
Revel has a devious, adaptable, chameleon-like personality and prefers to be subtle and indirect. He handles other people and tasks with delicacy and a light-touch, patiently, carefully experimenting to find which of their buttons to press, preferably accomplishing this without leaving a trace. The discorn spends a lot of time in fantasy - a dreamer, an artist, with a streak of curiousity and a creative imagination.
Once Revel sets a personal goal, he will follow through, launching himself at challenges with passion and flair. Yet with people, he is usually fickle and easily bored. Tends to jump into activities and adventures and new things without hesitation, but will be observant of others, tread carefully, and research as much as possible once he has made up in his mind to do something. An hour in the dreamworld is only a minute in the waking world. The discorn experiences no hunger/thirst/tiredness while in the dreamworld, but can worsen injuries or be harmed/killed by other dream creatures. Can "see" all the dreams of every dreaming being on Earth (Not in another dimension such as Heaven/Hell/Underworld). Still has to take the time to "walk" there. Travel in dreamworld coincides with travel in waking world. Is tired when leaving the dreamworld, even if they were only in for a minute. Will pass out for 30 minutes on reentering world.
When inside dreamworld - (all done with player permission/collaboration)
Can enter dreams to manipulate them and/or communicate with someone. Only one dream can be entered every 8 hours from the time dream is left - personal time.
Can leave a navigation marker that will enable him to refind the person when they dream again. Can only leave 10 markers at a time. Can remove markers at will or let them vanish. Markers last 24 hours and then must be replaced. Will immediately be able to tell if a marked person is dreaming in the dreamworld, can tell if he's getting closer or farther within a 2-mile radius, and can pinpoint direction within 100 feet. On returning to waking-world he can sense if a person is marked when within 25'.
Inside the dream, time in the waking world passes by however long the dreamer is asleep for.
The discorn can't enter the dreams of holy beings/anyone with a mental shield. If they enter a young child's dream, they will appear in their unicorn form and be under the control of the child until the child lets them go or wakes up. If they stay in the dream they could be under control until the dreamers lets them go or wakens.
They can be harmed by aspects of the dreams even when not being controlled if they do not pay enough attention.
They can choose a vague human or unicorn body or just stay invisible and talk to people in their dreams. The dreamer will remember what he said, but won't have any reason to believe it was more than a dream unless he lets them know.
For manipulation - there's a chance the person doesn't even remember their dreams, but the more often he does this with the same person, the more likely dreams are to stick and infiltrate subconscious.

Potentially fatal.
- numbs pain when touched to an external wound/injury. Numbing effect lasts for as long as wound is touched minus the amount of time it takes to reach full strength. Minor wounds/injuries needing only a couple minutes. Life threatening injuries needing a couple hours. (does not actually have any healing effect)
- When placed in a container of liquid renders it within a minute into purified water containing a sedative similar in effect to nitrous oxide (sedated, stuporous and dreamy, analgesic effect). The sedative only lasts for 30 minutes before it just becomes water. The effects of the sedative last about 15 minutes when drunk (and only when drunk) and are not physically addictive. Must be a drinkable liquid, including alcohol/medication, or natural/man-made poison/chemicals, nothing magical/potions/alien/blessed, and no more than 4 cups of liquid total at a time (over 4 cups and there would simply be no effect).
Unicorn beauty -
Tends to cause people to take a second look and find him aesthetically pleasing, more in the sense of admiring a statue than any emotional/attraction sense.
Draws in and is drawn in by purity (holy beings/innocents/virgins) - they tend to want to be close to each other, are more content and calm in each other's presence. Also more fascinating to corrupt/unholy beings - the people who would corrupt a pure being will have urges to tarnish him somehow, either physically or in action.
Human form -
Revel can maintain their human form (with clothes) for 2 hours with an hour rest during the day or indefinitely during the night. His form may seem to flicker if seen from the corner of the eye, especially during the day. This form is similar to a weak glamour that is easily seen through by magical beings (not humans/aliens/undead, unless their powers allow) who will see through him as if his body is a slightly translucent covering for a rearing unicorn.
Nightmare heritage -
Can see in the dark as clearly as an average human could see in the day. Understands all human spoken language and sign language. If he concentrates and it's nighttime, he can become intangible for up to five minutes, with a resting period of however long he sustained intangibility.
Dream vision - sees flickers of images around peoples heads, their daydreams/deep hopes and fears. The pictures are highly symbolic and generally too quick to interpret, becoming clearer with more time spent with that person.
Between two planes -
When not in dreamworld, Revel is in a perpetual half-world state somewhere in between dreamworld and the real-waking world, but never fully in it. Has a hard time focusing fully on the real world, and his sight and hearing are distorted at times. Sometimes has wrong emotional response to things - fear/anger when he should be happy and vice versa.
True vision - He can partially see through illusions/glamours - they seem ghostly to him. Can not see naturally invisible creatures or see through charms that physically change a person's appearance.
- Unless the possessor is making an effort to hide, Can see when beings are sharing the same body, ie demonic possession, as they appear superimposed on each other. Can see other nightmare creatures.
- It's hard to get a reading on him telepathically, similar to bad reception.
Daydreamer's Aura (only active at night) - within 10' of the discorn, people become easily distracted, more prone to daydreams, more careless. The longer in his presence the more life takes on a dreamlike odd quality, and the more often in his presence the longer these effects last when away from him.
"Bringing nightmares to life." (only at night) - Within a 5' radius can generate an aura of fear/disgust, with small illusions that affect sight and/or hearing. Must be standing still or sitting/lying down, but can spare enough concentration to keep up a conversation. Can keep this up indefinitely, until he loses concentration or moves or voluntarily ends it, not very tiring. The illusions and aura effects vanish immediately on leaving the area of effect. The illusion's total area can not be more than a one-foot sphere but can be split into multiple smaller illusions within the area of effect. Generally creates creepy crawlies like spiders, bugs, or snakes, or creates shadow tendrils and eerie sounds. People that are not naturally afraid of the illusions will simply feel very mild disgust, people who are afraid would be terrified.

Revel's mother was a nightmare who became fascinated by a unicorn and decided to seduce him by taking on the form of an actual night mare. The discorn appeared magically fully adult, but still needing to be taught like a child.
He was immediately whisked by his mother into dreamworld where he stayed and was raised/taught by her for 25 years, never once stepping out into half-world or meeting his father, only learning about people through their dreams.
After these 25 years, Revel was shown how to leave dreamworld, somewhere in the US, and taught to blend in and mingle with humans from time to time. The discorn became interested in "getting at the mind from the other side." He discovered Art Therapy and threw himself into his studies, taking his time and eventually completing a Master's program that also lead to an LPC degree. He also got himself certified, striving for his best effort.
Revel ended up joining a group practice with his clinical supervisor who he eventually established a close bond with. His supervisor having a magical nature himself, quickly discovered that the discorn was a unicorn, though not the full extent of his nature. After 10 years, Revel's supervisor came into contact with a scout and was invited to start a private practice on Manta Carlos. They brought the discorn along with them, where he set up his own practice out of his modest new home.
