This board is an older one that I started last year, that never really got off the ground. I did a full sweep, and I need new members. The plot is as follows:
Arilan was founded by an order of knights a few millenia ago. Those knights formed the government of what would soon become a great and powerful kingdom. That kingdom lived in peace and harmony...until recently.
Last year, the king, Kiril Miranor, died, leaving his twin sons, Blade and Zariach, to decide between them who would rule the kingdom. Blade, the eldest, wished for Arilan to be a joint-rulership between them, but Zariach wanted it all for himself. As a result, the knights split: Those that were loyal to Zariach on one side, and those that thought that if he had all the power, the kingdom would fall, on the other, behind Blade.
With this split, the kingdom broke in two: Blade's kingdom, keeping the name Arilan, and Zariach's kingdom, taking the name Ziranath. The two kingdoms live in relative peace, but occasionally flare-ups cause miniature wars between the two. But, with the diplomatic skills of Blade still on the field, they never last long.
Zariach and Blade have always had a deep-rooted hatred of each other, ever since their father left the kingdom to Blade. This caused the rift that formed between the brothers.
In the midst of a time of restless peace, there arises a new threat. A mysterious mage offers his aid to Zariach, and places a spell upon Blade, causing him to fall in love, not with his future queen, whom he already loved dearly, but his own mother. Not that it would have surprised many people. She still looked like the beauty of an 18 year old that she was when she married her late husband.
The hope behind this spell is that a scandal will result, and Blade will be removed from power, and Zariach will be able to easily sieze control of the other half of the kingdom, thereby achieving his goal.
But there are other powers at work, on both sides of the board. Is the power of good strong enough to break the enchantment on Blade? Or will Zariach's evil wishes come true?
There are several canon positions open, as well as a full need for an admin team once the site gets on its feet.
