Decided to expand some more on how Rei's ink works, change the color of his ink slightly and add in more stuff on his octopus physiology.
Rei's liquids are a dark blue inky substance, including his saliva and blood. When experience intense emotions (and with his personality, it's usually anger), Rei can secrete this substance naturally, sometimes in less than uncomfortable ways. It can drip from his horns, his eyes, his hands, his mouth (which will not choke him, but it is an uncomfortable experience), and anywhere else on his body. The more intense his feelings, the more the ink covers his body.
All of Rei's bodily fluids are replaced with ink. For the most part, they are all regularly colored, though his blood is as blue as his "hair," and his main ink is dark blue. When experiencing intense emotions, Rei can secrete this substance naturally, sometimes in less than uncomfortable ways. It always starts from the top of his head, going from his horns to his "hair" to the rest of his face. Once his entire body is covered in ink, the ink can potentially come out of his eyes and mouth, though they will not blind or choke him. Nevertheless, it is still a very uncomfortable experience, and the latter can make it hard for him to speak or remove his ability to entirely. Rei can produce liquidy and gooey ink. The ink that comes from his head is almost always liquidy, but the texture can be changed if needed. When paired with his camouflage, his ink will not change, making his camouflage fail as soon as he begins getting covered.
Octopus Physiology - Obvious from Rei's cephalopod limbs, he has the abilities of a cephalopod, or to be more specific, an octopus. He can stick onto surfaces, constrict his body to fit into small spaces, use his limbs even if they are detached, and produce transparent slime to protect his skin. In addition to that, when Rei is in a dark area, his body will naturally light up, he is nocturnal, and highly intelligent, though he still has the personality and social skills of a young child. Funnily enough, despite his species requiring wet environments and a lot of water to survive, Rei hates the sensation of water on his skin and is a terrible swimmer. Fortunately, he can be on land without dying, but he just needs to have a good source of water nearby in case he starts to dehydrate.
Octopus Physiology -
- Brains - Rei has nineteen brains. He has his main brain in his head, and the other eighteen for his cephalopod limbs. The brains are nowhere near as advanced as his main one and only allows him to be able to move his cephalopod limbs if they are ever cut off. The longer his limbs are detached, the harder it will be for him to control them before they stop moving completely after about fifteen minutes. He also needs to be able to see his limbs; otherwise, he is moving them blindly and can only guess what he is doing based on his sense of touch. If his main brain is heavily damaged, he will die and return to Hell for regeneration.
- Hearts - Rei has three hearts, with the main one circulating blood and the other two pump it through his gills. If his main heart is heavily damaged, he will die and return to Hell for regeneration.
- Arms - Rei has eighteen cephalopod limbs. Eight on his head acting as hair, and eight more coming from the bottom of his torso which replaces where his legs would be. The ones replacing his legs are around eight feet long. Rei's body is disproportionate to the limbs replacing his legs, as they are almost fully grown for adulthood. The number of limbs he has and how large they are (specifically, the ones replacing his legs) add a significant amount of weight to his body.
- Suckers - All of Rei's cephalopod limbs are lined with two rows of suckers. They can stick tightly onto almost any type of surface, but only if Rei wants to or they are cut off. He also has suckers on the front hands. Occasionally, if Rei is not paying attention, he will grab and stick onto things without realizing it.
- Beak - Instead of teeth, Rei has a white beak. They are sharp and are used to bite people for feeding, but otherwise, they are as strong as human teeth.
- Soft-Bodied - Rei's body lacks bones, making him very flexible and capable of deforming his body and constricting himself into small spaces. This also makes him very vulnerable to anything that can slash or pierce objects. Will naturally produce transparent slime to help protect his skin, but it can be dried out from heat. Almost anything his beak can fit through, Rei can force himself through.
- Bioluminescence - Can make his body glow blue or white when in the dark. Can adjust his light to be varying levels of dimness, but it can never be bright. Light is noticeable from long distances.
- Mimicry and Camouflage - Can change the color and texture of his skin. Is convincing from far away, but close up, people can tell there is something off about his appearance. Not as convincing when moving. When inking, his camouflage will fail and make himself very obvious. Can use his flexibility and limited shape-shifting to force himself into a shape of an object to add to his camouflaging.
- Senses - All of Rei's senses, other than hearing, are above average human levels. His touch is his strongest attributes, with his body being incredibly sensitive. He will instinctively squirm when touched. This can range from being lightly ticklish to genuinely uncomfortable and overwhelmed. He can taste with his suckers, as well as smell due to the sensors on the end of his limbs.
- Nocturnal - Is active during the night and sees better when in darkness. Eyes have a harder time adjusting to the light but are otherwise human in the day.
- Intelligence - Very fast at learning. Can retain information for long periods of time, and has an easier time coming up with solutions to problems than other kids his age. Still emotionally his age.
- Aquatic - Needs water to survive. Skin can easily dry out and will dry faster in the heat before peeling off. Needs to regularly douse himself with water to moisturize himself, with the average being about three times a day. Can wear sunscreen and lotion to help minimize the amount of water he needs to douse himself with. Can breathe underwater, but his a sloppy swimmer and slower than he should be.
