Hazel hummed to herself, getting the living room ready. She had just gotten word from a client recently that they were going to be moving into town. An Oricenta named Beatrice. Rather memorable person, given her rather large body, mainly in height. Part of it might be because Hazel is short, but still she was probably tall to others. Plus, Hazel never met an Oricenta before. So she was going to ask a fair amount of questions.

So there she was, setting up the living room. There was a few slices of cheesecake as well as a set of tea. Coffee as well, of course. But that was over in the kitchen when she was done drinking the tea. The house was fairly clean, everything was set up, and Hazel had remembered to finished getting dressed first. It was a good day and she was gonna have a nice calming day.

Finally being freed of the stress of moving, Béatrice was relieved almost to tears to be allowed to have a day where she could just sit down and enjoy a snack with a friendly acquaintance she met before she officially moved to the island. Her name was Hazel, and they both had some stuff in common, specifically, they were both water-aligned and had owl traits. As much as Béatrice loved learning about new people and studying them, it was just as nice to make some friends she related to and didn't feel out of place being around.

Arriving at the entrance of Hazel's house, Béatrice did one last check to make sure she looked proper and had everything she needed before knocking on the door. Not like there was much to check other than her hair being cleaned and trimmed, her dress not being dirty, and that she was still carrying the tray of rainbow cupcakes she made before leaving her house. It didn't feel right to arrive at a person's home without a gift. Back on Ilada, everyone was expected to have a gift when visiting a person's house, and that wasn't a tradition she was ready to give up after moving here.

With there nothing left to check, Béatrice knocked on the door and waited for an answer.

Hazel heard the knock at the door, turning her head. Well, it looked like the time had come for that. She floated over, then landed at the door, smoothing her skirt out. Alright, she was looking quite presentable. Time to greet her.

Hazel opened the door, bowing slightly toward to her. It was a bit intimidating, given the women's massive....Well, everything, compared to Hazel. Body, height, age, knowledge, breast. Hell, her hair was longer then Hazel. "Hello Beatrice. Come in and sit down. Make yourself at home." She would take the tray of cupcakes, smiling. She started to float in a criss-cross way, setting the cupcakes on her lap. "And thank you for cupcakes. I appreciate it, though you didn't have to."

"Hello, Hazel," Béatrice said before bending down to enter the house, carefully avoiding her horns from getting stuck. With how small the people around here were, Béatrice expected that she would have to get used to crouching to enter houses. At least most buildings were tall enough where she didn't have to squat too low to be comfortable.

Once inside, she still kept herself low but made sure she didn't show any discomfort. A cheery smile was still on her face, and the way she spoke was as bouncy as ever. "No need to worry! Back home, it is common and polite to have a gift for someone when visiting their home. Even if it wasn't custom, I do not think I could accept visiting a friend without something to give to them."

Hazel saw her duck, trying to walk in her house. It looked quite uncomfortable, but it seemed like it was very annoying. Made sense given the horns with it. Beatrice didn't show any signs of discomfort. Though, maybe going outside would be better in the long run anyway.

"Alright, I understand that. I feel the same way when visiting someone as well. At the very least if they offer food or something. But anyway, why don't we head to the back porch. It'd be a bit better given your size and horns." She floated to the table, awaiting an answer from Beatrice.

Béatrice was tempted to insist that sitting inside wouldn't have been an issue, but the position she was in was already becoming uncomfortable, and her wings needed to spread out a bit more. Going from being on the taller side but not being anything spectacular in her species to being a giant was a transition she was going to have to take a long time getting used to. "Ah, was I that obvious? I would have been just fine sitting down, but yes, being outside would be preferable. Thank you."

Hazel nodded, instantly going to work. A bunch of ice owls would fly out, grabbing the trays and setting them on her lap, as well as the plates and silverware. When everything was on her lap, she gestured at Beatrice to follow. "A bit. Your face didn't, but the position said otherwise."

She floated, quickly leading Beatrice outside. Afterword, Hazel set up a place, letting her guest take the more open side of the table. She then poured two cups of tea, setting one down for her as she would sit down. "Okay, this seems to be a bit better now. So, go ahead and sit down then. Let's properly start this."

Outside, Béatrice stretched her back and spread her wings as much as she could, as well as her arms. "Ah, this is so much better! Thank you."

Now that her body was back to normal and comfortable, she seated herself in the open chair Hazel left. Before speaking, she took a bite out of one of the cupcakes she brought, then sat it down on a napkin. "Now then . . . I actually did not have a starter for our conversation." She giggled nervously. "I could just bombard you with endless questions about the island. How do you like it? Are the people here nice? Did you live elsewhere before coming here? Stuff like that. I am a woman full of questions. I can not help it."

Hazel was glad too see her so cheery. Not that she wasn't cheery before of course. But anyway, Hazel sipped her tea, setting it on a little cup as she listened to Beatrice go off on her questions. These were fair things to ask. "No, probably, I'm glad these are the questions I am being bombarded with. So, I like this place a lot, most are nice, I lived in New York till I was 8, then started traveling with my master."

"To get in a bit more details, my parents were killed by witch hunters when I was 8. I was found by someone named Gwyn. Then he basically gave me to Logan, a rather old mage. Eventually he died and I moved here. Not this house specifically, but to the island." She sipped her tea again, then laughed nervously. She probably put this way to bluntly. Kind of stupid on Hazel's behalf really. "I uh, have been telling people more about my past. It's a bit weird, usually I just kind of blow over it..."

Béatrice listened intently to Hazel's answers, once in a while taking a bite from her cupcake while she processed all she was hearing. Once the girl was finished, Béatrice was even more excited to learn but tried to keep herself reserved. "Many people tell me the same thing about Manta Carlos. That everyone is nice, that the environment is peaceful and lovely to live in, it makes me wonder about the darker aspects. I do not believe in utopias, and no matter how splendid an area may be, there will always be grime hidden underneath . . . Oh, that sounded ominous, did it not? My apologies, I often think out loud." Her cheeks turned violet, with her violet freckles and the purple pattern on her nose becoming white in contrast to the blush.

"Anyway, back to you." The blush lightened. "My compassion goes out to you about your parents, but I am pleased that you seem to be living quite a pleasant life without them. I have seen how cruel hunters can be, at least regarding human hunters that have spotted my people. But might I ask, what was your master like? You may also ask me any questions you have in mind as well. I love answering questions almost as much as asking them."
