  • Curvy body with muscles often seen on dancers and performers
  • Blank facial expression almost all the time
  • Five horns changing from orange to yellow from bottom to top, with the largest one being the middle one that looks similar to a unicorn horn

  • Medium sized wings

  • Actually, sometimes she just put cutesy stickers on her body wherever. Her favorites are heart stickers on her cheeks
  • Wears a lot of pink, cutesy clothes. The type of clothes where she would wear earrings shaped as ice cream, or a shirt with puppies all over it. Her favorite fashion styles are Japanese street fashion, sweet lolita, and sometimes classic lolita. The stuff she wears are more subdued versions of those types of styles, as she's self-conscious about coming off as childish or weird.
  • Sometimes mistaken for a guy when wearing heavy clothing; her face is pretty androgynous

Personality:
  • Introverted - Remi likes to keep things to herself, including her emotions. She's usually the quiet one in the group, often trying to be a wallflower by standing off to the side to be "invisible." While she isn't against being more social, she prefers if people come to her first; however, lately she has been trying to get more involved with people outside of her near family. Remi is prone to rambling when she finds someone she really connects with, or if she's getting worked up and can't help but say everything on her mind to calm herself down.

  • Stoic - Some people may see Remi as being an unemotional girl, or as someone who has trouble expressing her emotions. While both are accurate to an extent, Remi was never raised to value facial expressions as an important way for her to express herself. In fact, she prefers people finding her an enigma, it makes things easier for her. Her family and close friends always seem to understand her fine enough, even if she speaks in a monotone with an apathetic look. Your best bet at knowing her emotions is to focus on her eyes, but even that can be vague. When her eyes are open, she's most likely anxious, annoyed, or angry. When they're closed, she's relaxed or happy.

When she is drunk her stoic personality will take a total 180, and she'll become extroverted and very expressive. She is extremely noisy, talkative, and brash whenever she gets drunk. Because of this, she prefers to drink in empty places, at home with her family, or with friends where they can calm her down if she goes overboard.

  • Emotional - Remi is very easily emotionally swayed. Just the slightest of things can make her happy, sad, angry, or any other emotion on the spectrum. In spite of her usual stoic attitude, when she's truly pushed to her limits her true feelings will show. Take for example her giving a small smile when she's euphoric, furrowing her eyebrows when miserable, or raising her voice when furious. If pushed further, or around those she is more comfortable around, she'll even express her emotions in a normal way that makes it easy for others to know how she feels. It's easier to get her to be like that under the influence of alcohol, though.

  • Protective - Coming from a pretty chaotic family, Remi has developed the need to protect everyone she loves. Even those who don't really deserve her protection she'll try to defend if she finds something bad may happen to them. This can make her come off as sort of pushy and clingy to people if they never asked for her protection in the first place, but she'll back off if she's firmly and obviously told to stop. Usually this "backing off" takes the form of her no longer being noticeable about her attempts at protection, and trying to help out behind the scene.

(Trigger Warning: Domestic Violence)

Remi was born from Ade Afolabi and Oyewole Ladipo as Oluremi Afolabi-Ladipo. She lived happily with her family, being given lots of resources to pursue her interests. Her mother helped her develop her talent of dancing and singing, and her father helped her learn how to craft jewelry and other types of accessories for her to wear around. Yet despite the support she got from her family, her father often put her down for qualities she lacked. She at least showed skill in using her mineral shape-shifting to change her legs for fashion purposes, and all her dancing made her body strong, especially her legs.

Oyewole mostly put her down for being average in school and having difficulties being interested. He would frequently blame Ade for it by making sarcastic insults towards her, suggesting that because she was dumb, their daughter ended up dumb too. It didn't help that Remi took her mother's habit of internalizing her emotions by putting up an uncaring attitude. Though unlike Ade, Remi just made herself seem extremely stoic and introverted, while Ade hides behind sarcastic remarks and a constant, fake smile.

Remi never felt resentment towards her father for his belittling comments though. Well, she never realized she did. She would constantly make excuses for them, saying that he was only trying to help her get better in school and explore her magical potential. That he was right that performance arts wasn't as important as being great in school. Oyewole even played with her, took care of her, and gave her lots of attention when Ade was too busy working. Plus, he even gave her nice nicknames, though Remi was the one that stuck and became her most common one.

Ade didn't take the belittling comments to both her daughter and herself well though. There were multiple times where she would threaten Oyewole physically, try to keep him away from Remi, or outright beat him up when she felt like he went to far. Eventually Ade reached her breaking point when Oyewole tried to keep a six-year-old Remi from all of her instruments and gave him one last beating before divorcing him and moving on to marry her best friend, Béatrice Soie. Remi wondered why Oyewole never pressed charges against Ade, but Ade and Béatrice would always respond with a smile, tell her that it was taken care of, and then switch the subject. Whatever was done it allowed Oyewole to visit Remi and talk to her on a regular basis, but not for a long time, and not without Ade supervising the conversations.

Her new family was much less violent. Insults and vulgar languages were thrown, but never with the full intent to hurt. It took Remi a while to finally accept that Ade and Béatrice were just simply bantering most of the time and that they took their more aggressive, hate-filled confrontations to privacy. She often wondered if Ade was hitting Béatrice like she did was Oyewole, but there was never any mention of anything of the sort. Her new home was too big to hear any of that anyways, and with how they always went to somewhere far away and private, it was hard to know what was going on. Nevertheless, she still loved her new family. Her transition was helped even further by Béatrice and Archard (the Royal Oricenta and her step-grandparent) taking her and her mother in like they were in the family from the start. Though that may have been because Béatrice already knew about her and interact with her regularly since she was a baby, just as a family friend than a mother.

Things should have been better for Remi: she had a new family that wasn't as violent, they were royalty now, and she still got to speak to her father on a regular basis. But now she had to deal with Béatrice weird obsession with the cultures, biology, and sociology with other species. She also had an obsession with enhancing the magical properties of oricenta, mostly with allowing them to be born with other elements outside of air, earth, fire, and water, and also absolute immortality. It wasn't long until Remi and Ade were roped into her experiments. Sometimes they just helped out but getting supplies, but other times they were the subjects, but luckily that last one wasn't that common.

When they moved to Manta Carlos Islands by Archard demands Remi thought all of that experimentation stuff would be over, but instead she just got a new half-sibling that became the primary focus of it all. Arjean seemed to be more what Béatrice wanted anyways, but it was still painful to be replaced with someone younger who got hurt even more. Remi would have rather been in Arjean's place if it kept them safe, but she didn't fit the criteria Béatrice was looking for.

At the very least, on Manta Carlos Islands Remi has been trying to get herself out more, meet new people, and make friends. She's been having varying levels of success, but so far she's been enjoying her time. All the unique experiences that can be found on the islands give Remi the perfect excuses to leave the house and avoid her family or take Arjean out on sight-seeing adventures to keep them safe.

Powers:
  • Mineral Shape-Shifting - Remi has the ability to change her body, or parts of her body, into different types of minerals. Usually, she just changes her limbs like her mom, but instead of how her mom, Ade, changes her arms into rocks, Remi usually changes her legs into gemstones. Sometimes she likes to give her legs wheels so she can skate around instead of walk.

She's also able to take pieces of the minerals she makes off of her body and regrow her missing pieces back. This can be seen as a form of regenerate that she can only do while shape-shifting and growing minerals on her body. If she messes up though, she can easily make it feel like she's stabbing her body with sharp gemstones, and she's capable of hurting others too if she doesn't realize her body is too sharp.
Species Abilities:
  • Owl, Deer, and Cervitaur Shape-Shifting - In Remi's owl form she has dark brown feathers with a gold blend to them, amber eyes, and a golden beak. She's able to summon her horns, but she only uses those for when she's in danger. In her deer form she has dark brown fur, golden hooves, amber eyes, a golden nose, and the inside of her ears are gold. In her cervitaur form she looks like her normal humanoid form, but below her torso she has the body of her deer form. She's also able to summon her wings, but that's a completely useless thing for her.

  • Owl and Deer Physiology - Remi has traits similar to those of an owl and deer, but she uses the traits from her deer side more than anything else. While she's able to turn her neck around like an owl and adapt to aerial environments, due to her lack of skill in flight anything relating to the air for her is completely pointless. Instead, she uses the predator instincts from owls and prey instincts from deer to help her out. She's also more athletic, as she can jump high and run fast, though this is a mixture of her deer and owl traits, as well as her training from Ade

  • Longevity- All oricenta will stop aging at 24-years-old, the year they hit their prime, and continue to live forever, but they are still capable of being harmed and killed. They are still vulnerable to sicknesses, wounds, and whatever their weakness is depending on their oricenta type. Their best bet against those things are to be healed by either themselves or others. They cannot resurrect themselves from the dead, and even just trying to resurrect them is hard because their bodies turn into whatever oricenta type they represent. Once Remi dies she'll melt into a pile of mud.

  • Water Breathing
Skills:
  • Dancing
  • Singing
  • Jewelry designing and creating
Weaknesses:
  • Flight - Due to being part Earth oricenta, Remi's ability in flight is dramatically different than her ability on the ground. This is especially not helped in that when she goes into her mineral form her body is too heavy for her to lift herself off the ground, and having gemstones for wings leaves her incapable of flight.

  • Swimming - Despite her being part water oricenta, Remi has never truly learned how to swim. She often ignored her Water oricenta side, despite how she can breathe underwater and has the potential to learn more things regarding the sea. This has led to her not being able to walk on water like other Water oricenta, and she has no swimming abilities other than being able to doggy paddle to get herself afloat. Yet again, because of her mineral form whenever she goes into that form while swimming she'll end up sinking, and once she goes down too far she'll need assistance in swimming back up.

  • Shape-Shifting - When an oricenta shape-shifts with their deer, owl, or cervitaur forms, they turn into a magical glowing cell-like form that lets them shape-shift without any pain. The time spent changing depends entirely on the experience an oricenta has with shape-shifting, but during this time they are very vulnerable to attacks. If they are interrupted, such as being touched or even stabbed, they can come out disfigured or dead. If they're disfigured, there's the chance of them being healed back to normal depending on the severity of their interruption and where they were interrupted, but if their dead the only thing that can bring them back is the power of resurrection that doesn't require a body to resurrect.
