Chris took another deep breath as she knocked on the door of the Evita household. She'd found it on the (faster now) Google search she did, and, well... She heard that this woman was something of a cyborg. Imagine that. A cyborg. On this island. Mind-boggling. One thing was certain, anyway - if there was someone who might have known about being a cyborg, Ms. Evita was definitely high up on the list.

Her head pounded, and she tilted her head back a smidge, trying to alleviate the pressure. Stupid metal plating on stupid giant antlers on her stupid giant head. A hand flew to her temple and massaged it. Oh well. Tylenol 3s were on the menu after this, for sure.

"Um... hello? I'm looking for a Sarah Evita."

Proximity sensors alerted Sarah of an unscheduled visitor. She rarely had those kinds of visitors, it was a sort of treat for her. At first she thought it was her daughter's friend, but the stranger asked for her specifically and by name. Maybe a courier then? She monitored the visitor while she tidying up her workshop, knowing that Belladonna was already on the way to receive the guest. The front door would open and a young girl would emerge with a welcoming smile. She held herself as if she was meeting with a monarch, hands clasped in front of her.. "Good day, visitor. Please come in, my mother will be up shortly." She retreated back into the house and gestured for the guest to follow her into the parlor just to the side of the hall where they usually met guests. "Please take a seat," she'd gesture towards the coffee table surrounded by a long couch and two arm chairs. "May I get you some refreshments while waiting?"

The girl who came to greet her looked like, five. Okay maybe she was exaggerating, but it really was a young person. And she talked so... monotone. It kind of freaked Chris out a little, being greeted with such a weird uptight kind of manner. "Um... thanks." She ducked her head to avoid the top of the door, but her horns got caught anyway, and she ducked even more to compensate, muttering about a headache.

Luckily the hall wasn't too different from what she'd expected. The little waiting-room-thing the kid pulled her into was really prim and posh and another fancy P-word Chris couldn't quite think of. Long, pristine couch. Two armchairs. A long coffee table.

"May I get you some refreshments while waiting?"

Finally, someone who spoke her language. "Yeah, sure. Shepherd's tea, if you've got it. Thanks."

Chris made herself comfortable on one of the armchairs - well, as comfortable as she could be in this prissy house - and waited.

Belladonna nodded at the request and walked to a door on the other end of the room, on the left side from the entrance where a reading area was set up with a book shelf standing on the corner. She returned shortly and placed the cup and saucer on the table before giving a bow and heading out the same door she just came from. Around 5 minutes later, the entrance to the parlor opened and Sarah walked in, dressed in an open lab coat, under which were a black vest and slacks. "I hope I didn't keep you waiting for too long. You came here to see me?" she asked as she made her way towards the opposite armchair. "Are you here for yourself or are you representing someone?"

Chris was about to attempt to sip at the scalding hot tea. She lifted the cup of home slowly, carefully, and put her lips up to the rim of the cup. And then Sarah Evita walked in.

Startled, she almost dropped her tea, but somehow caught herself, placing the tea on the table rather crudely. The woman was dressed in a nice black vest and a pair of black pants, under a white lab coat that made her a bit uneasy. She cleared her throat.

"Um. Hey. I'm Chris and I wanted to see you. I looked you up on Google and, um. Apparently you know a thing or two about having technological body parts? I need to know how to manage mine." There were no two ways about it - she needed to figure out what her technological side did and why it worked, how it worked. Why bother being polite or pansylike around it? She stuck her hand out - an offer of a handshake for Sarah. Ms. Evita? Ms. Sarah?

"Yes, that is... accurate." While Chris was talking, Sarah had been observing her guest. It seems she had some cybernetics installed, the level of technology however, seemed dated, though that's mostly because bronze had a low-tech aesthetic. Unless there was shielding under those bronze layers, Sarah would never accept such implementation. Bronze was conductive, and could cause electrical arcs between it and other conductors, humans included. Not to mention the potential for short circuits being lethal for whoever was using it. It was dangerous, to put it lightly. Sarah leaned over to shake Chris' hand. Despite Sarah's hand being metallic, it wasn't cold. "Are you having trouble with your cybernetics or prostheses? Admittedly I have only worked with humans, but I will help you out as best I can if it's within my scope of expertise."

While she was talking, the tall-ish woman gave her a once-over. At her antlers. At her hands. At her metal plates. Bronze, all of them. She leaned over to shake her hand. Hers gleamed. Metal, definitely. She took it somewhat confidently with her own metal hand. Even though hers were metal, like Chris', they weren't cold like hers were sometimes. That was weird. And cool. How did she control the temperature of her hands?

"Well, sort of." She took a deep breath. "Okay, so here's the deal. A few... thousand... years ago, some demigod did some major metalwork on me. I ended up with these." She shook her hands, then gestured up at her antlers. "Plus some weird electricity stuff. Because of Hephaestus magic, maybe? I don't know. All I know is that these clunky metal things are weird and really kind of unmanageable. You've got experience with prosthetics. So... yeah."

A few thousand years ago? Sarah's surprise wasn't as much as it would have been had she met Chris during her first months on the island. That explained why bronze was so prominent in her design. Sarah tapped her chin in thought. On one hand if a demigod created Chris' metallic parts with magic, then Sarah would immediately hit a brick wall. She still didn't know the intricacies of magic all that well. It was such an odd concept to her that all her models failed to predict outcomes. On the other hand, this could lead to a badly needed revelation for her. If Chris' prostheses worked like her own, then she may be able to stitch clues together that'll give her a better understanding of magic. "Depending on the complexity of your prostheses, I may be able to help. Perhaps even replace them to be less bulky while maintaining a balance on mass in line with your natural parts, but I will need to make sure that doing so doesn't outright kill you." A finger scratched the bridge of Sarah's nose. "Do you know how entwined you are with this technology? Are you able to detach and reattach them, or are they fused with your biology?"

"That's the thing. I kinda don't know much about it. I mean, I've tried taking them off, but they're like glued to my skin or something. Fused, probably, since it hurts when I bang them on stuff or try to pull them off. I can do some sort of electricity bullshit with them, I think. Uh... the guy who put them on was obsessed with giving me some stupid electric powers or something. He plated my horns too, which was kinda a dick move because they hurt really bad now. Uh... I think that's it? He tried to do this skin-graft thing with metal in a few places, so there's a few places where that's there... uh... yeah I think that's it."

Throughout the conversation, Chris could see that her prostheses - as Sarah called them - confused her. Would Sarah even be able to help her? She sat back down slowly, reaching for her cup of tea.

"Amazing." Sarah sighed. Her line of technological advancements barely managed to compare to what Chris had. She could feel from them! That kind of technology wasn't around 15 years ago. Sarah herself developed some prototypes but never pursued them for her own reasons as well as her time being used to develop other things like security androids. Electric powers was not as interesting however. She had plenty of schematics for personal devices that bent electricity in various ways, from diverting bullets to shooting arcs of energy outward. "I will be honest with you. With how intertwined you are with that technology, helping you will be a challenge, but a great opportunity... Depending on what you actually want to do with your condition, pursuing my help will be taxing for you as I will need to do some tests and diagnostics to help me understand how you and your mechanical parts work together. Will that be alright with you?"
