Name: Nyota Enterprise Magarian-Xia
Age: 16
Birthday: June 3rd
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Monogamous Bisexual (somewhat confused her own sexuality)
Species: Human (Possess the soul of Three-Legged Crow)
Ethnicity: American (Armenian/Chinese)
Class: High School
Grade: 10[sup]th[/sup] Grade
College Major: N/A
Appearance Description:
Face:
Nyota’s most distinguishing feature would have to be her large almond shaped eyes. Originally a dark brown, since her powers manifested her irises became so bright and luminous that staring into her eyes is like looking into a pair of tiny suns. Her pupils are so white and bright they its near impossible to make out where her pupils transition to her irises. Some people say that if you look at her eyes closely they can make out trefoil but given how blindingly bright her eyes are its difficult to know for certain. Aside from her peculiar bright eyes, the rest of her features are remarkably human. A tall but refined looking nose, round cheeks, thin lips and pointed chin are all features she inherited from her mixed Middle-Eastern and Asian ancestry. Through rarely seen, she has perfectly straight teeth with a healthy enamel coloration to them. If she was to open her mouth wide enough however for others to peer into, they can spot silver fillings in two of her upper molars, likely a result of childhood irresponsibility with proper brushing. Lastly she has dry mahogany colored hair with thin eyebrows to match.
Hair Style:
Puts minimal effort into hair care and best described by her as "fashionably sloppy". Her hair length reach just past her chin. Her hair is quite dry and feels course to the touch. The only attempt she does to avoid looking like a complete slob is to brush her hair down with a brush and tie a bun on the back of her head. Once she does so, she calls it day and proceeds to whatever she might be doing that day.
Body:
Stands pretty much at the standard height one would expect for a girl of her age. Is at a healthy weight for a girl of her age though she could use some more muscle on her body. Nyota is most definitely under the effects of a delayed puberty as her hips are just starting to develop and recently just transitioned to an A cup. Her skin is a sun kissed tan color and is without flaw. Well, nearly without flaw at least, she has a few scars such as the on her right elbow, one under her chin, and few on faint ones on her legs. Some say that her skin has peculiar radiance to it and if one were to look at her veins they could see the faint glow of her irradiated blood underneath. Perhaps her most notable feature (with the exception of her eyes) is her missing left forearm which turns into a stump by the time you reach her elbow.
Clothing Style:
Is an absolute slob when it comes to attire, picking out what is comfortable rather than what is considered fashionable. She absolutely loves to wear sweatpants and heavy boots since they keep her legs warm. For her torso, she may mix it up between a tank top with a winter jacket or a sweater depending on the weather. She will however begrudgingly wear the Academy’s standard uniform.
Personality Description:
Powers:
Nuclear Fusion:
Upon consuming the soul of the long dead sun god, Nyota is now able to able force atoms to overcome their natural repulsion from positively charge nucleus (a process that normally requires atoms to collide with each under very high speeds or pressures) and undergo nuclear fusion. This ability allows her to generate small stars from her palm or fire bolts of plasma at her enemies. While hydrogen and helium are the typical fuel that fuels stars, the lack these elements in the atmosphere forces Nyota use elements found in air (such as nitrogen and oxygen) as the nuclear fuel in to power her abilities. While her ability to create stars is a natural phenomenon, it requires her to use magic to overcome atoms natural tendency to be repulsed by one another due to their positively charged nucleus that would normally prevent atoms fusing outside the center of natural stars. Thus Nyota is limited by how much output her attacks can perform based on her own magical reserves. For simplicity sake, Nyota refers to reserve as her “Solar Charge”. Her current solar charge is capped at 30 charges and she regenerates 1 solar charge every 15 minutes. Once a charge is consumed, her body will use ambient radiation her body has soaked up and converts it into magic but as mentioned before this process will take 15 minutes.
Species Abilities:
Nyota is a human and boast of no remarkable abilities… that is until she ate a dead sun god that have bestowed on her a fraction of its divinity. So while she is just a young human girl, the fact that she now has the soul of Three-Legged Crow inside her has given her several additional abilities.

Personality Description:
- Aggressive: When it comes to fight or flight, Nyota will always pick the former. She admires those who take action and abhors what she sees as acts of cowardice.
- Arrogant: Is remarkably confident of her abilities. Those who agree earn her is a good way to her earn her friendship. Those who disagree will find her is an invitation for a challenge.
- Art Minded: For being a bit of brute, Nyota is an admirer of fine art and will paint to help calm herself in stressful situations. When asked about, she isn’t certain way that that is. Just something about finding meaning in the artists’ works is oddly relaxing for her.
- Crass: This girl has no tact and cares little if her bluntness offends people. She doesn’t sugarcoat her words and will speak her mind about things. Its less about being truthful and more about coming up crafty lies too complicated to bother with.
- Distant: Struggles to understand others and even herself at times. This distance leads to her having a few topics to discuss with others and dislikes having to indicate conversations.
- Homophilic: While she is confused of her own sexuality, she is highly supportive of homosexuals given her upbringing being raised by a lesbian couple.
- Hydrophobia: Nyota does not know how to swim and is terrified of being near large bodies of water that are at depths greater than her toes can reach. Refuses to attend pool parties or swimming in the ocean without an inflatable she can hold onto.
- Individualistic: Nyota is all for everyone being capable of taking care of themselves. People who rely too much on others are in her eyes parasites.
- Irritable: Tends to get annoyed easily, especially when things do not go her way. She will make snarky comments to those who offend her and may even challenge them to a fight.
- Lax: Tends to do things at a slow pace, seeing no point rushing things. She figured that as long as things get done then all will eventually turn out in the end. Also tends to not take things seriously unless the situation becomes dire.
- Scatterbrain: Tends to get lost in her thoughts and frequently forgets what she is even doing half the time. Sometimes people just find her staring at the sun or at walls for seemingly no reason… as if she was just in her own little world.
- Simple: Dislikes complexity, the less things to think about the better. Thinks overly complicated plans are dumb and appreciates it when things are things are straight forward.
- Threatening: Likes to use shows of force to get what she wants and will intimidate other to do what she wills. The weak naturally serve the strong. Those who disagree merely have to prove themselves worthy in her eyes.
- Trekkie: Is a fan of Star Trek and is quite receptive to those who are familiar with the franchise.

Once a charge is consumed, her body will use ambient radiation her body has soaked up and converts it into magic but as mentioned before this process will take 15 minutes.
1) Miniature Star (3 charge to activate, 1 charge to maintain for 5 minutes):
Creating a miniature star is Nyota’s signature move. By using local gas in the atmosphere as nuclear fuel (mostly elemental Nitrogen or Oxygen), Nyota can create a tiny star the size of a basketball. The process of fusing enough atoms to convert from a hot gas into a miniature star takes about 20 seconds. Once formed, the tiny star fly can float anywhere within 10 feet of Nyota and will remain so long as Nyota consciously feeds the fusion process. While the miniature star is on the field, Nyota controls its movements by directing moving her arm or making hand gestures to command the miniature star. After 15 minutes however, iron (which is notoriously difficult to fuse due to its stability) accumulating within the core of the miniature star will make fusion impossible to maintain and thus is forced to let the star die. Once Nyota stops the fusion process for a minister, the hot ball will seemingly poof out of existence. The only trace of its existence is the small pellet of pure iron (no bigger than a rice grain) that is cool to the touch by the time it falls to the ground.
Mundane uses of this mini-star revolves mostly around illumination as the mini-star (dispite its small size) glows with the intensity of the sun and radiates heat like that of a large bonfire. This sunlight is genuine and thus everyone would be effected by this light as if it was natural sunlight. This means that species who benefit from sunlight will benefit from her mini-star while those who are negatively impacted by sunlight will be negatively impacted by the light of her miniature star as well.
In combat, Nyota can command her tiny star to any location around her within 10 feet of her at the speed of a thrown volleyball. Being hit this tiny star will feel a lot like being hit by one too since the radiating energy of the miniature star will push back against any solid object as if it was solid itself. While the surface of the miniature star a dangerous 9000 degrees in Fahrenheit (5000 Celsius) hot. While such temperatures are dangerous to anyone, thankfully exposure to such temperatures are limited as the miniature sun will “push away” from any solid object it makes contact with and leaves exposure time to be less than one second. That one second of exposure is enough how to cause 1[sup]st[/sup] or 2[sup]nd[/sup] degree burns on most normal humans. The intense heat for that one second can also leave scorch marks on concrete, heat metal, and ignite flammable objects such as paper.
2) Plasma Pulse (1 charge per use):
Using a clever little trick, Nyota can fire a bolt of hot plasma at her enemy. First she would start to generate a miniature star as she would normal but instead of waiting for 15 seconds for it to reach maturation, it instead is forced to collapse into a neutron star within 5 seconds. This sudden collapse causes the barely forming star to expel a plasma from the poles of the star much like a tiny temporary pulsar. One pole is aimed to towards her palm which will absorb the impact while the other end a white-yellow plasma is ejected out to wherever Nyota was aiming her palm at.
While the bolt of plasma can reach speeds of 1,000 feet per second (365 meters per second), this is about 40% the speed of the average bullet which can reach 2500 feet per second (760 meters per second). The maximum distance these super-heated globs of plasma can reach is 220 feet (67 meters) before they dissipate into nothingness. It should be noted that the heat of the plasma is linear, meaning that the bolts do less damage the further out they when strike an object. Direct hits one normal humans can cause either 1[sup]st[/sup] degree burns (more likely at further range) or 2[sup]nd[/sup] degree burns (more likely at closer range) upon contact. Such heated plasma will scorch concrete, deform metals, and may ignite flammable targets. Nyota currently has too little control of her powers to scale her attack any more than she is currently able.
3) Sun Flash (6 charge to activate):
The Solar Flash is a fancy technique that Nyota has learned by exploited exploiting her miniature star. First she must create a miniature star as normal but once it has reached to its maximum size (which takes 20 seconds), Nyota must immediately force the star to consume even more nearly 5 times the normal amount of available fuel. This excites the star to glow with a blinding light in all directions. If she does not do this immediately after the star formed, the star will act just like one of her normal mini-stars and is unable to create a Solar Flash unless she was to try again with another mini-star. The star becomes so bright that it that it’s difficult to make out Nyota as she appears to be bathed in a large ball of pure light. This effect lasts for only 30 seconds before the iron accumulation in the core of the star halts any further nuclear fusion and will quickly cease to exist like any other normal mini-star Nyota creates. During those 30 seconds however, looking in the direction of the glowing orb for even a moment will cause temporary blindness. The temporary blindness varies from individual to individual but most can regain sight within a few seconds.
Since Nyota is able to see through her own blinding light, she able to move and bring her luminous orb with her so long as she continues to holds it high above her. Nyota is unable to attack (even to just kick blinded foes) since the act of doing so is too distracting and will snuff out her star early. She is however free to job with her orb to take advantage of the cover of light to make her escape. Nyota’s blinding lights can be overcome by other senses such as echolocation, motion sensing, thermal sensing, bio sensors, magic sensing, or telepathy. Ordinary sunglasses will only limit the intensity by a small amount as it would require something on par of welder’s mask to see through the entense amount of light.
4) Red Shift (5 charge to activate):
S Sometimes Nyota finds the temperature to be a little too cool for her liking. When using this technique, she must first form a miniature star which can take 20 seconds to form. Once formed, she must immediately force the mini star into expand further. If she doesn’t not do so, the star will remain a normal miniature star and will have to create another one to try to perform the Red Shift again. Otherwise, the mini-star will expand and expand, becoming larger and more red as it approaches the size of beach ball. The star continues to expand until nothing remains as it blankets the area 75 feet (23 meters) around Nyota in disgusting wave of heat. The entire process takes only a minute for Nyota to achieve as the heat of the star is dissipated in the area around her. Temperatures increase up 64 degrees Fahrenheit (18 degrees Celsius) for the first minute after the star is consumed. Afterwards, temperatures cool over a 7-minute period until they return to normal as the residue heat lingers away. Those who like hotter temperatures are bound to enjoy the temporary warmth she can provide while everyone else will likely complain of the sudden increase in temperatures.

Strengths
Radiation Sink:
Nyota’s blood passively absorbs local ambient radiation like a sponge. While the radiation could originate from source, most of the absorb radiation consist of mostly solar energy from the sun and trace amounts of radiation emitted from electronics and naturally radioactive on the earth’s surface undergoing decay. So effective her radiation absorption that radiation detectors such as Geiger counters will show no signs or radiation around her, even the radiation expected to be observed rom natural sources. Thus no one is at any danger of getting cancer from Nyota. While Nyota’s body is highly radioactive, her flesh and blood is curiously safe to eat (provided she is still alive) since her body will quickly reabsorb the radiation from any removed blood or flesh. Should Nyota be killed however, her corpse will have to be treated as if it was nuclear waste as the high concentrations of radioactive particles she absorbed in life will leak out of her body and her flesh/blood would be lethal to consume for normal humans.
Radiation Immunity:
Nyota is unaffected by the effects of radiation damaging her body. Good thing too since she accumulates so much of it in her body.
Energy Immunity:
Nyota is unfazed by energy attacks of all sorts (weather in the form of fire, lasers, plasma, electricity, ect) have no effect on her unless they magical in nature. At worst, these energy based attacks would do nothing but burn a hold her clothing.
Heat Immunity:
Having the soul of an ancient caretaker of the sun has its perks as she can withstand temperatures found on the surface of the sun. This effectively makes her fireproof.
Eyes that Shine of Sunlight:
A side effect of her natural ability to absorb radiation. While it may seem like her eyes are glowing, what they are actually seeing are the glow of her blood infused with highly concentrated radioactive particles from the blood vessels in her eyes. The glow of her radioactive blood is so overwhelming that it is impossible to see her natural brown eye color, giving her the appearance that her eyes are as bright as the sun. While staring at her eyes for too long won’t cause blindness, her bright eyes make it difficult for people to maintain eye contact. Her unique eyes allow her to her see through glares or sudden flashes of light while being able to stare at bright objects without any sort of eye damage. While she lacks night vision, her pair of eyes are highly visible when they are open… especially in the dark.
Divine Soul:
The three-legged crows of legends were said to be immortal beings. While it is yet to be seen if Nyota is a true immortal or not, the fact that she has a such a powerful soul in her body prevents her from dying from any illness or poison. While she can still suffer from the effects of illness or poison, she recovers from such plights 25% faster than normal humans and does not have to worry about dying from these diseases or toxins. She can be still paralyzed, put to sleep, or intoxicated like everyone else, she will just recover from such things a bit faster than normal.

Weaknesses
Cold Vulnerably:
Nyota finds temperatures under 75 degrees Fahrenheit (24 degrees Celsius) unconfortable and will compensate by wearing thick clothing to keep herself warm. Successful cold based attacks will leave her shivering, making it more difficult to concentration and her mini-star generation requires an extra post to create due to frigid temperatures. If temperatures fall too low (such as below freezing), Nyota is unable to generate miniature stars and thus powerless.
Magic Vulnerability:
Being a creature of magic, Nyota finds her highly susceptible to magical attacks which are twice as effective on her. Even magical based energy attacks will harm her but will affect her normally like any other creature.
Mental Vulnerability:
The fact that she has mind muddled with a lifetime of memories that are not her own leaves her feeling disconnected and somewhat confused about her life at times. This leaves Nyota highly vulnerable to mental attacks. Such mental attacks can include both illusions and mental suggestions. This also makes her easy to trick as her confused state of mind makes her more agreeable and thus gullible.
Weakness to Charm:
Pretty boys… pretty girls… something about them makes her heart flutter, her legs weak, and her head spinny. Such pretty people can easily manipulate her or influence her.
Human Frailty:
Despite all of her god-like powers she had now acquired, she is but vulnerable human vessel housing a power that does not belong to her. Outside of a few immunities as mentioned above, anything that could kill a human can easily kill Nyota. A bullet will injure her her and a sharp knife will make her bleed just like every other human.
Disarmed:
Her left arm is but a stump after accidently blowing it off when she first acquired her powers. The constant inconveniences of missing one arm are a daily reminder to her of how destructive her powers can be to even herself.
Dyslexia:
A disability that she had for all of her life, Nyota struggles with being able to read and writer properly. She is exceptionally slow to read words, has terrible penmanship, and constantly misspells/misuses words. Her dyslexia is often a point of frustration in her life.

Biography (Full):
Nyota means star in the Swahili language. While an appropriate name given her current powers to generate small stars, that wasn’t why she was given that name. Nyota was instead named after communications officer named Nyota Uhura from the hit TV series Star Trek. In fact, her middle name is Enterprise, that famous ship of the Star Trek series. As one could quickly guess, both of her mom’s really big time Trekkies. And yes she has two moms. Mother A is Chiou Xia, a Chinese American who’s family has been living in Nebraska as long as long as anyone could remember and works as research assistant. Mother B is Adrine Magarian, a third generation Armenian American who now works as freelance webpage designer.
Nyota’s moms first meet at a Star Trek convention in 1991 but only really got to know each other during the Chicago Comic-Con of 1993 where they quickly bonded over their love of Star Trek. Upon learning that they both lived in Nebraska and that they were an hour’s drive from each other, they both agreed see each other in the future. Right from the start the two of them were attracted to one another but feared that the other did not share their sexual preference. Instead they both settled on staying just good friends, fearing that if they revealed their true feelings they will only scare away their friend. In 1995, Adrien’s parents where fed up with their adult daughter living at home contributing nothing and kicked her out of the house. Suddenly without a home, she asked her dear friend if she could stay over at her condo while she worked on finding a job and somehow afford a place to live. Chiou jumped on the opportunity and insisted that Adrine can live with her for as long as she wanted, provided she helped with chores to which Adrine graciously accepted.
The next several years was worthy enough to create a cute and quirky summer romance flick targeted for lesbians with a love for Star Trek (a very narrow demographic) as the two women tried to get as close to the other without trying to come off too much as lesbian. By 1998, Adrine was starting to suspect that Chiou was interested in her more than a friend after an incident involving mayonnaise. Adrine, after building up her courage, revealed her true feelings for Chiou. Chiou was at first shocked, but revealed to Adrine that she shared the same feelings as for Adrine. Nebraska law at the time did not recognize same-sex marriage so the two had a private wedding at home in the Bajoran wedding tradition. As with many couples, they two desired eventually desired to have child together. Wanting a genetic relationship with their child, the couple recruited Chiou’s older brother Len into being the sperm donor for Adrine upon agreeing that Len was under no legal obligation for the child and he forfeits any rights he might have for the child. Chiou’s parents were highly supportive of the plan (in fact they were the ones who coerced their son to provide the sperm) but this was mostly out to the desire to finally have a grandchild after waiting for so long.
In 2002, Adrine’s artificial insemination with Len’s sperm proved successful with the birth of the young baby girl named Nyota Enterprise Magarian-Xia… a mouthful of a name. The two newly crowned parents cherished their little bundle of joy and attended to every need of their doting daughter. As their child grew up, the two Trekies tried to enforce their love of love of Star Trek onto her. Thus Nyota grew up surrounded by all things pertaining to Star Trek: posters of Starfleet on the walls of her bedroom, figurines of classic characters from the Star Trek universe filling her tow chest, and models of the various starship seen throughout the franchise lining the shelves of her room. Most afternoons were spent in between her moms on the living room couch watching every episode and every movie of related to Star Trek ever produced. Occasionally her moms would bring her along to the various conventions and having the little Nyota dressed up as tiny Vulcan or Klingon except that one time one she was a small Borg. To this day Nyota will admit in privately that she is fan of Star Trek but will concede that she is nowhere near as fanatical as her moms who can claim fluency in Klingon.
Nyota’s life was fraught with difficulty as her parents enrolled her in school. For one, none of her classmates knew what Star Trek was and it was something that baffled the young Nyota! On a more serious note, even at young age Nyota appeared to struggled with learning how to read and write. By first grade, Nyota was diagnosed with an advance form of dyslexia and required a specialized education to accommodate her learning disability. Her fellow classmates however assumed that Nyota learning disability meant that she was retarded and ridiculed her for being so dumb. Nyota started to believe their teasing, resulting in her performing poorly in not only reading and writing but in school in general. During second grade, Nyota couldn’t decide which of her moms she should bring to the “Bring you Mom to School Day” event so she begged for the both of them to come since her two moms were the world to her. While both Adrine and Chiou were comfortable with only one of them going, they found their daughter’s pleas too heartwarming to refuse. When time for Nyota to introduce her home to her entire classroom, she surprised everyone by introducing not one mom but two! The children were quickly stricken with awe as they never seemed to imagine someone having two moms before and really liked their colorful jumpsuits that they were wearing. While the children asked endless question to Nyota’s moms, the other moms stared at them… some with disgust… others with scorn.
Nyota expected all of the other kids to be all over her about how cool her moms were the next day judging from the positive reception the day before. To her surprise, everyone seemed to go out of their way to avoid her like the plague. When she finally got a girl to open up why everyone was avoiding her, she told her that her parents instructed her that she not associated with her or else she was going to hell. Nyota was distraught, finding that the other students had reasons similar to first girl: that she was unchristian, is a bad influence, will give you the case of the gays, and one boy even calling her an advocate of Satan who was trying to lead him astray from the path of heaven. The fact that Nyota had two mom now gave her tormentors all the more reason to bully her. Nyota tried to ignore them at first but the teasing so aggravating that when she was “accidently” pushed into the mud she finally lashed out at the girl who dared pushed her. Nyota’s savagery shocked both the girl and the bystanders that by the time Nyota was pulled off of her by a member of the school staff, the girl had a broken finger and required several stiches to her face. The girl was taken to a hospital while Nyota was suspended for a several days. While both of her moms sympathized with their daughter, they felt it best punish her behavior by grounding her due to her excessive violence. By the time she returned to school, she had garnered a reputation as brute… which worked out for her as the bullies who used to call her mean names now had to wary of her breaking their fingers. The few that tried to harasses her however she scared off with Klingon proverbs she memorized… which tended to scare them off as they thought it was some sort of demon speak. Since then, Nyota was know as a good for nothing hooligan always causing trouble. It was a reputation that Nyota embraced as she used her influence to force the other students to do as she says.
A few months after beginning 8[sup]th[/sup] grade, Nyota felt usually fatigued and her parents, being the overly cautious parents they were, took her to the clinic when she mentioned her fatigue to them. The doctors her dismissive (as was Nyota) and thought of her condition as nothing more than a cold. When Nyota returned to the clinic with skin infiltration and lymphadenopathy doctors took her condition far more seriously. Nyota was then transferred to another hospital for more concrete tests which revealed that the young lady had an aggressive form of cancer known as T-Cell prolymphocytic leukemia. This form of leukemia was exceptionally rare, Nyota’s cause exceptionally remarkable considering that this form of leukemia was never observed in children before her case. Its aggressive nature also made it difficult to cure even with recent advancements in the field. Doctors informed Adrine (Chiou was not recognized as a Nyota’s parent at the time though she was recognized as her aunt) that her daughter was at best only going to live 5 years but more realistically less than 8 months.
Nyota’s parents were desperate to try to save their child. They tried raising money online and trying to get the LGBT and Star Trek community to help pitch in for treatment but even with generous donations the two mom’s came to learn that no amount of money was going to help save their daughter. Chiou’s mother Liling(who would be dammed to lose her only grandchild) offered to help by using her own familiarity of traditional Chinese medicine. While both Adrine and Chiou were skeptical of Liling’s traditional approach, they allowed her try to treat Nyota regardless since they both knew that that their way no way they were going to be able to argue the old woman out of her plans. For the next couple of months, Liling uses a variety of medicines ranging from acupuncture to the consumption of herbs and animal products (about half of them being illegal to be in passion of). With nothing working and Nyota growing weaker and weaker, her grandma eventually presented Nyota with a small, highly decorated wooden box. Within the box, a single pearl, darker than the midnight sky, sitting on top of pillow of fine red silk. Her grandma told her how this blessed stone will slowly bring her body into balance.
Nyota (who was out of it from the heavy use of drugs and chemotherapy the doctors had put her under) misunderstood her grandmother and shallowed the tiny black object thinking she was supposed to eat it like all of the other strange herbs and animal parts her grandmother gave to her. Judging from the shocked expression from her grandma and her parents faces… she wasn’t supposed to have eaten the pearl. At first her grandma lectured her for her idiocy, then she started to laugh spontaneously by how random the moment was. In turn her moms started to crack up with laughter, even Nyota herself couldn’t help chuckling weakly. Once the laughter died die, Nyota remarked how she felt a little better, calming that laughter was the best laughter. Her moms agreed but her grandma insist that that it was the stone that she shallowed. Unbeknownst to everyone present… that Nyota had consumed stone as no ordinary gemstone. It was but a tiny black sun… the corpse of a long dead Three-Legged crow of eastern legends that was said to have controlled the very sun itself. Within that corpse… the dormant soul of the ancient sun god waiting to be rekindled.
Next day, Nyota felt much better… to which she jokingly attributed to eating the black stone. When the doctors ran some follow up test for an earlier treatment they performed on Nyota, it was found that the cancerous cells disappeared seemingly overnight. The doctors and nurses were ecstatic and claimed that Nyota’s recovery to be the work of one of the experimental treatments they put her under. Everyone seemed to agreed that the doctor’s treatment was effective, with the exception of Liling who insisted that it was her traditional medicine that accomplished what the modern doctors could not. Regarless of who or what was responsible for Nyota sudden recovery, everyone welcomed the news that the girl’s life was saved. While Nyota was eager to leave, the doctors insisted that she remain under observation for several days due to the risk of a relapse. Her mothers agreed with the doctors and left her under their care for the next several days. In those during that time, Nyota suffered migraines and recurring dream in which she was a great fiery bird that walked on the burning fields of the sun. The more nights she slept, the more vivid they became. While the migraines where a concern to the doctors, they were largely dismissive of Nyota’s usual dreams. It was on the day before she was to be released from the hospital, Nyota ready to leave behind the awful hospital memories for good when she remembered something… something that was not her own.
Nyota began to recall taking on the form of a great three-legged crow wreathed in flames, being a caretaker for the fires of the sun and occasionally visiting earth to feed on its rich grasses and delectable trees. She remembers the humans greeting the light and warmth she had brought them as she passed by. She remembers growing bored of her routine and descended upon the earth with all of her brothers. The humans complained that the light and warmth with the gave them was too much and that they were causing the lands to burn under their combined radiance. She remembers laughing at them… why would such worms complain about their radiance? How dare they question a god who gives heat and light to an otherwise cold and dark world! Most insulting! And then… and then they murdered her… they killed her and all of her brothers! The treacherous humans recruited that vile mythical archer who then slayed them all?! How dare they… to defy the caretakers of the sun! How dare they defy a god! HOW DARE THEY KILL HER AND ALL OF HER BROTHERS! The flood of memories from a long dead god the sun was too much for the young Nyota… the overwhelming anger and lifetime of memories caused her to genuinely believed herself to be an ancient Three – Legged Crow reborn! And she was to have her revenge!
With her powers inherited from the three-legged crow, Nyota went one a rampage as she was determined to set the planet ablaze! While the ancient crow may have been capable of such a feat in ancient times, thankfully for the world Nyota’s mortal body was a poor conduit and had only a minuscule fraction for of the once vast powers of the Three-Legged Crow. Nyota nearly exhausted herself in less than 30 minutes but in those 30 minutes had caused several burn injuries and some perporty damage, mostly from a fire she started. It was during the end of her “reign of destruction” that that a scout for Starlight Academy (having been reported of a possible gifted person in Nebraska a few days before from a large magical spike from the Starlight Academy Observation Station) arrived only to find Nyota using her causing harm with her newfound abilities. When the said scout tried convince her to stand down peacefully, Nyota refused to listen and attempted to destroy them. While Nyota was capable of serious damage, the scout proved too experienced and was able to avoid her dangerous attacks as they attempted to subdue her. Having nearly exhausted all of her power, Nyota attempted to go over her limits and attempted to create a small supernova with her miniaturized sun. Nyota however had reached the limited of her power and the attack backfired, causing a premature explosion. The force of the explosion was enough knock her unconscious as well as destroying her left arm beyond all recognition.
With the fighting now over, the scout quickly took to treat the girl’s injuries as best as they could. As they tended to the girl, both of Nyota’s mothers (having been on their way to the hospital to visit their daughter) recognized the limp figure amidst the desolation and rushed to her side with the scout patching up Nyota. Both of Nyota’s moms told the scout everything that they could about their daughter while the scout understood that the girl’s powers only manifested recently and was perhaps overwhelm by whatever possesses her to go on spree of destruction. The scout in turn explained to them the situation that her daughter was now in. The scout convinced Adrine and Chiou that it was best that they have their daughter imminently transferred to the Starlight Academy as they had facilities to help rehabilitate Nyota as well as providing a in a safe environment with other children like her. Her parents reluctantly agreed, understanding that it was Nyota’s best option of a somewhat normal life.
Nyota was thus transferred to Behavioral Corrections Facility to help rehabilitate her. The first 6 months of her stay was mostly revolved around physiatrist having to convince her that she was Nyota Enterprise Magarian-Xia, a young girl from Nebraska and not some ancient sun god as she now believed herself to be. Eventually they managed to get through to her and helped her coup with the memories of the Three Legged Crow, memories that seem as real to her as own childhood memories. The rest of the time was time was spent having her adjust to the loss of a limb, understanding her powers, anger management sessions, and therapy. After a near 2 year stay in the correction facility, they considered her rehabilitation mostly successful but had concerns over certain behaviors such as episodes of aggression, lack of guilt for the people that she killed during her rampage, and anti-social behaviors. Still, the staff of the Behavioral Center signed off on her release in hopes that associating with other people like like her in the high school environment of the Starlight Academy will help her confront and overcome her her lingering social issues. Nevertheless, the Center advised that Academy to accommodate certain needs of hers, especially those concerning her dyslexia as it has been a constant source of frustration for Nyota. They also recommended that she would enroll in painting and join the art club since they found painting highly calming for the girl who is prone to anger.
