Bestial Translation--Noli Zaphir
Noli’s linking powers of translation used to only work on verbal and written forms of communication, as well as sign language--but as she spends more time with animals, she has started to notice that their small gestures and quirks have begun to ‘mean’ more to her than they once did.
Noli doesn’t necessarily ‘speak’ to animals ala Doctor Dolittle-style. Rather, she is able to ‘communicate’ through her presence, giving off an aura of whatever she wants the animal to feel. If a creature feels threatened, she can calm them by giving off a soothing aura that lets them know she is not a threat. She can only suggest how an animal should perceive her--she cannot control them.
In turn, she can understand the small movements and subtle cues of animals in ways most cannot. By watching an animal, she can ‘translate’ in her mind exactly what they are trying to communicate as if she were the same species as them.
This power only works on truly 'bestial' animals--not on shifters, or animals that can speak like people.
