Night Walking

It was dark out, the time was 12:38 at night. The stars were bright, and the moon shone brightly. The brightness was scary to the 17 year-old Nykolas, who walked about the grass, drenched in black clothing. Nyk was an odd one, he loved black things, and frightened to death of light, and bright things, and white things.

He walked around the trees, and bushes. To some, it would frighten them to walk about in the night, when there was a chill breeze to make branches waver and making noises that would make people think there was someone there, but Nykolas found it the most comforting thing in the world, it was better then the large frightening thing of day known as the sun.

Nyk went around the wide lawn, you could say exploring, that's what he always does in the night mostly, or what other people would do in the day. He saw better at night to him, since all his life, he was afraid of day, and always lived in the shadows, the darkness gave him comfort from the dreadful days of sunlight.

Living in a place where she was unaccepted for who she was, had made Fallon Aria's personality grow darker. Her light blonde hair had been dyed black, which surprisingly matched her dark skintone. Her eyes were always lined with thick black eyeliner, and her lips were shaded a rich, deep blood red.

Her clothes had shifted from that of a normal teenager to dark and different. A black tank-top covered her small upper torso, but her arms were covered by black and dark purple striped 'sleeves'. Her lower body was clad in a pair of black cargo pants, with a black tutu type skirt above it.

She entered the dark, quiet lawn looking for serenity. People were overrated, she had decided, and she liked her darker self better anyways. But it did make her sad... People didn't love her so she decided to get rid of her like for them. She longed for a friend who wouldn't ignore her or judge her for her darkness. She paused when she saw someone on the lawn, but said nothing, instead deciding to fall over onto the lawn and stare up at the stars.

As Nyk walked, he took no notice of the younger girl who was out wandering about, his own curiosity of the place got to him a little. He loved the exploring at times, even dark alleys he would, it was fun, then darkness was fun, even though, he wasn't evil, or cruel, he was a nice boy, who merely loved the night, and feared day. His family always thought him a little strange that way.

After a bit of wandering the place, he then, noticed the girl who laid down, and looked at the stars. He grimaced slightly. Who could bare look up at those frightening bright stars? To him, it was odd, but not so much, since his family loved day, and stars, he bet they had thought him strange to. Silently, Nykolas made his way over towards her, not once glancing at the night sky, or moon.

When he was close, he watched the girl a moment, then decided to say something.

"Hullo." He said, voice calm, though, a little curious.

Fallon sat up with a start and faced the person who had broken the silence. She looked at him quietly, trying to decide whether or not to acknowledge his presence. She was hoping for silence and no people, but it would be kind of nice to have some human contact. She made a decision quickly, and spoke quietly, her voice soft from lack of use. "Hullo." she replied, feeling slightly dull.

She stirred again and shifted her position. She was unsure how to deal with people. She had horrible social skills. She smiled a small, closed mouth smile in an attempt to be friendly. "Do you like the dark?" was her quiet, awkward question as she watched his face closely.

"Hullo." She had returned back, and Nyk smiled, and started to walk a little closer, then, where the moon shined, and his eyes widened and he stepped back, and took a glance at the bright moon, but quickly away, it was bright, and scary. He looked over at the girl again, bit his lip, and started walking out from the shadows, but gave a shudder.

"Do you like the dark?"

He cocked his head slightly, but didn't find it odd, he never found many questions odd. "Yeah... not the evilly kind, but shadows, and night darkness and such is fine with me... I love it." Nykolas replied. When he was closer, he crouched down.

"Do you like it? The dark?" He asked, though, something just told him she did, since she had asked the question, but then, maybe she didn't? He shrugged, not knowing.

She watched him with wide eyes, looking slightly like a panicked deer. Then she dipped her head. "Yeah. I do. It's like a warm cozy blanket." she attempted a smile again, and then looked away from him around the empty lawn.

She shifted slightly and pulled her knees to her chest, moving her hand to shut off the soft music playing gently from her earphones. She turned her eyes to him again. "What's your name?" she asked softly, cocking her head to the side.

He looked away a moment, something caught his eye a moment, but saw it was nothing, and turned back to the girl, and gave a slight smirk. He had never thought of it as a blanket, but once he thought about it that way, it was just like, it seemed.

"What's your name?"

"Nykolas, most call me Nyk, though." Nykolas replied. Nyk had always liked his named, he thought it was spelled a neat way also, well, he thought it was cool way. "What is your name?" He returned the question, though, not that much curios to what her name might be.
