New Shoes

Astrial had been bought a pair of shoes by the school since she wasn't allowed to go bare foot any more. She had practiced waling around her room with them on before class and before meeting up with Orion. She thought she had the hang of it and grabbed her bag with her school stuff in it to meet Orion in the Cafeteria. She was very slow, shuffling her feet along till she got to the stairs where she had to turn sideways and hold the rail and go down one step at a time. She was coming down the steps from the second floor landing to the the last set of stairs when her ankle gave out and and she tumbled over the stairs head first landing crookedly with her ankle. One of her shoes had gone flying off landing on the floor beside her. She was okay Astrial had thought, she had just tripped. Then the pain set in like a blow to the head and she started crying. And crying very hard. A student saw her and offered to help her up. So she tried and but collapsed again from worse pain. The guy picked her up and carried her off to the infermary. She told the guy once he lay her on a bed in the nurses office to find Orion for her, and he agreed to do so. So Astrial lied there tears straming down her face waiting for the nurse and Orion to arrive.

She was happy to be hugged and held and started to tell him what had happened from when she put the shoes on to how she fell on the stairs. She was glad he was here. It's not fun to be alone when your hurting. "I tried to make it to breakfast with you. I'm sorry I missed it." She was sniffling and had her head burred into her chest. Her hand had been holding his in almost a death grip squeezing it very hard.

The nurse's assistant walked in and said that she is sorry to tell us that the nurse has an emergency to attend to and will be an hour late to be here. She thought the news bothered Orion because She thought he might have stiffened while he was holding her. She couldn't see his face since her face was pushed against his chest. This was very bad news which meant she was going to be in agony for a while. AstrialI started sobbing harder. The harder she cried the more it jerked her ankle from it's resting position.

A few minutes later the boy that had helped her came back with her bag and her lost shoe and placed it beside them on the floor. "Thanks, " Astrial said between tears, and then the boy left them alone again. "Orion do you kiss boo boo's? My mom used to do that as a good luck to get better kinda thing." She blushed. "Can you kiss mine better?"
