The cold temperature told most people to cover up and wear many more layers than they used to during summer, but this woman, wearing only a pair of jeans and a tight tee-shirt seemed to ignore that she should feel cold or get hypothermia. In fact, her skin was not turning blue with frost or white with cold, she had a strange skin color, but that was there even before she started to get out in innapropriate clothing for the temperature. Her long black hair was tied back with many braids with silver bangles entangled in them. Her black eyes were looking down idly at the reflective surface of the water while her feet touched the sand under the wet surface. The cold was not affecting her as it would normal people because she did not have a normal body heat to start with. She was whatever temperature that her surroundings were, which gave her the perfect excuse to fool people with during the summer into believing she was a normal human. It was not the case, she was a vampire.

Alvyna was out. It was visible in the way that she drifted towards the sound of every animal in the area, in the way she looked everywhere so she didn't miss anything exciting, or scary. And it was certianly visible in the way that she was clutching a picture to her chest, asking her if she knew why she was on this strange island.

Every so often she would stop and ask one of the animals, mainly squirrels, if they knew where she was and why she was there or if they had seen her mother. So far, they had all been too busy preparing for winter to be bothered to give her more than an angry chatter back. The squirrels were so mean this time of year.

After wandering for a while, Alvyna came across the lake... and someone at the lake. She looked like she must be cold, not that Alvyna was dressed too much warmer, blue jeans, a blue Eeyore t-shirt with butterflies, bluegreen socks, her light blue shoes, and a blue zip-up hoodie that was zipped only partially were all the girl needed. She was used to the cold; cold winters, hot summers, it was just a little nippy out at the moment for someone where she came from. In fact, she generally felt warmer without the hoodie, but that was really just her hands, and it was only the comparison to the rest of her body that made them feel extra cold in the first place, but she couldn't be bothered to wear gloves in fall, that was crazy.

Alvyna watched the girl by the water a few seconds before walking up to her. "Hi, aren't you cold? My name's Alvyna. Have you seen my mom? Short, black hair, about 40 years old." She held out the picture of her mom, it was a simple head-and-shoulders shot, perfect for a yearbook or passport. She was pretty enough; short, black hair, and light green eyes made a strange combination on the tan skin.

(XDD I used a slightly changed quote from a game that I'm too scared to even think of playing. Free cybercookie if you know the game)

(Sorry, I have no idea what game that is.)

If the other's footsteps had not alerted her of the younger woman's presence, the chatter of the irate squirrels certainly would have. It was hard to miss in this forest. With her feet in the water, She turned around to watch the other approach. Her eyes were kken and she noticed many things about the younger female. There was no doubt in her that she was not a normal human being because most would find it too cold to wander around without a coat and gloves. Rayana herself was not a human although she possessed the body of one.

-No, I am not, neither do you look cold.- She replied.-I've never seen her.-

The black haired older woman wondered how the younger one could even just go up to her and talk when most children were taught not to talk to strangers.

"Oh, should I be?" Alvyna thought back to times when it was too cold for clothes like this, cocking her head as she did so. Each memory had snow or ice in it... Or a strong, chilly wind. "I guess if there isn't ice or snow, it's not that cold." She said as she straighted her head out and shrugged. "And, it's okay if you haven't seen Mom. No one's seen her, not once." Alvyna sniffled a bit before tears started running down her face. "I want my mommy!" she wailed. She was bawling at this point, spurred on by the strange combination of the body of an eightteen-year-old girl and the mentality of an eight-year-old child. Not that Alvyna understood any of the reasons, she just wanted her mother. The fact that she was on a strange island next to a strange person she didn't know ment nothing to her. All she cared about at that moment was that her mom wasn't there. Her mom had never been there. In fact, there was only one time in Alvyna's short existance when her mother was to be seen. She was lying in bed, the first time Alvyna had come out. Alvyna had been quickly led out of the room with tears streaming down her face much as they were now. At this moment the girl leaned over into the body next to her for some comfort, crying all the time. "Why can't you be here Mommy?!"

(Oh my gosh, she's so adorable! If her speech sounds a tad off, it's because I don't pay attention to how eight-year-olds talk. I probably should have thought about that XD . . . I seem to like building backstory while rping. I read too many novels where this kind of thing would be necisary. XD Also, to clear some things up, the memory is their mother on her deathbed, but Alvyna doesn't know it. She had come out that first time because Ana needed to be a child again. I'm not quite sure how it works though... I don't know much about DID except for a few things, like the person who has it had those other personalities to help deal with things in his or her life and they may or may not remember what happens when another one takes over the body. Having a character like this is tricky. By the way, I should hope you can guess why she's having mood swings.)

The black haired woman could not help but agree because cold left her indifferent most of the time. Although the ice gathering on her skin could be a bother, well, walking encased in ice was even worse. The vampire could not help her own temperature matching the ambient one, she was a cold blooded creature after all.

-Most people usually get cold around these temperatures, but I suppose I am not anywhere near normal.- She informed the younger woman.

Rayana was pretty sure that the girl's mother was either MIA or dead, which would explain why nobody ever saw her. The next action of the young woman took her by surprise as she got an armful of sobbing teen. Stiffening out of habit, she reluctantly put her arms around the woman-child and soothing rubbed her back.

(Sorry, I have no idea)

Alvyna looked up, calming down a little but still with tears and the occasional sniffle. "You're c-cold." She stated, hugging her tighter. "Don't you notice?" She was getting as close as possible now, trying to share body heat. "Why don't you feel cold? They told me I don't feel it so much because I'm used to it, They say we live in a place called The Frozen Tundra, but I don't think that's here. Where is here?" She was oddly calm about not knowing where she was and wiped the drying tears from her face. "I'd ask Them, but I don't want to stop my time right now. I wanna see more 'fore I go back."

(Trying to fight past my block. The Frozen Tundra is one of Green Bay's nicknames.)
