It was about lunch time when Live finally woke up. Even though school was still going on, Live did not have any classes to attend. She had a few tests she was going to have to take in the next couple weeks so she could get credit for the courses from her old high school but beyond that she had nothing to do. So she rolled out of bed, threw on her favorite pair of ripped black leggings, her black boots, and her dark blue hoodie. She braided her hair and put on her red baseball cap with a pot leaf on the front. She grabbed her dark blue backpack with the tribal print and left her room. The woman at the admissions office had given her a map of the island and she pulled it out as she headed outside. It looked like she could either take the bus straight to the McDonald's but it also wasn't too far to walk. So Live set off in the direction of McDonald's. She choose a route that would take her away from most people and off into the woods.

As soon as she knew she was in the clear (which she was able to make sure of by using the shadows in the woods to sense for any other people near by), she stopped by a tree and sat down. She pulled a sandwich bag out of her bag, a grinder, and a bowl. She let out a heavy sigh as she saw she only had one nug left. She threw it in the grinder, ground it up, and packed the bowl. There was still enough left for maybe another two bowl packs but that was it. She was gonna have to find someone to buy weed from asap.

Live packed everything except the bowl back in her bag and started walking again, smoking as she went. Once she finished she put away the bowl and pulled out a pack of American Spirits. She only had four left and let out another sigh as she realized she would also have to try to find some place (or someone) that she could get cigs from, since she was still under 18. She lit one and by the time she was done with it, she had arrived at McDonald's. She was decently high and ready to eat. She entered the cool building, and took in a deep breathe. The walk through the woods had kept her mostly shielded from the sun but she could still feel its drain on her body. She walked up to the counter and ordered two big macs, a medium fry, an Oreo McFlurry, and a large sweet tea. She didn't smile or look at anyone. Even when she ordered, she kept her eyes down and didn't say more than needed to get her order placed. Live moved to a both in the far corner and leaned back. Her half closed eyes scanned over the room and the maybe thirty people. It wasn't too busy but there were still about twenty more people than Live would have preferred.

[ ooc: i... sort of added an additional character for their safety purposes. joker's a fun guy, i promise. ]

[ #81056444890 (Thorn) & #91827364501 (Joker) ]

The first thing Thorn did that day was vomit.

She knew she shouldn't have had that third sticker that night. But she did. And she regretted it. She hadn't eaten dinner but she was puking her guts out, barfing out liquid, blood and god knew what else into her toilet. Her throat felt like burning. Her vision swam and she felt weak. She had her cheek to the toilet seat. That feel when you're so trashed that you're making out with the toilet.

"Good job on the drugs, babe. In a few years you'll be the next Winehouse", Joker said behind her. Despite the sarcasm, she noticed there was a hint of worry in his voice. He pried her off the toilet and propped her up against the bathroom wall, splashing her face with water. Thorn groaned and pushed his face away, which was a mistake, because she realized she didn't have enough balance herself so she had to support her weight with an arm on the sink.

"All right, all right, geez, I'm fine, doll, cut it out!"

She garnered whatever strength she had left and washed her face, then drank a good amount of water from the sink, which was also a mistake. Her stomach was empty but full of water. She grabbed a pill bottle from the medicine cabinet and saw Joker glaring at her at the corner of her eye.

"Painkillers."

"What."

"I saw you judging me."

"I ain't saying nothing." He shoved his hands in his pockets and looked away. And that was the end of their argument.

She grabbed her smokes from the cabinet and handed one to Joker. He gave her a funny look, but lit it up with her. Joker was a social smoker while Thorn inhaled the shit like oxygen. He had to cough a couple of times, unused to the regulars, but it went down to Thorn's dried up lungs too fast.

"You got class today?"

Joker shrugged. "Nah."

"Cool, me neither. I finished all my plates. Let's get McDonald's."

They got ready in ten minutes. Thorn pulled on a black dress with elaborate buckles on them and black knee-high boots while Joker went with his usual shades, jeans, ironic Pepe t-shirt and black suit jacket.

McDonald's wasn't far. Ever since they reunited a week ago, they opted to live together at an apartment Downtown. It was a well enough arrangement, though odd things were common place. They helped oil each other's gears. Thorn was addicted to stickers that made her sick, and Joker slept with a mechanical, wooden horse in his bed. Along the way, both of them threw out their smoke, but Thorn switched it with a joint when they passed through a park.

She was as high as a freaking kite now.

When they got to McDonald's, the menu was swimming in front of her. Everything looked enticing. She reached the cashier and ordered one of everything. Joker pushed her aside and ordered them four cheeseburgers, two large fries, a float and iced tea.

Now, had Thorn been more sober, she would've chosen a different booth that wasn't her usual because, well, it was occupied. Instead, she sat across the girl in black with a huge grin on the face.

Had Joker been a saner person, he would've took her to a different table. But since he was himself, he sat next to Thorn and nodded at the girl.

"Hey, new beans," Joker said, chewing on a fry. Thorn was full on ravaging her burger. "You're in the High School, right? You're kinda hard to ignore 'cause you're a walking, talking Hot Topic ad."

Thorn elbowed him. "Shut up, Joker. I think her style's great. You know what would help your look, though?" She leaned forward, glancing at her tattoos. She had roses on her collarbones, a mystical tree on her right arm and the prologue of Dorian Grey on the left. On her shoulder was a pentagram with a goat's head — the official symbol of LaVeyan Satanists. "Hey, quick, give me a list of your favorite bands and I'll tell you if I like you."

Live was half way through her fries and almost finished with one burger when suddenly, a girl slid into the booth across from her. She was honestly stunned. She was so use to everyone staying away from her, and she liked it that way. Who was this stranger who thought she could just sit wherever she wanted? This table was already claimed.

The girl grinned at her and then started chowing down on the burger. Live couldn't help but smirk a bit as she saw the slight red to the girls eyes. "Well, the fact that she's probably high makes this a bit better but..." Her thoughts were interrupted as a second person joined the booth. He said hello and made some, what he probably thought was funny, comment about Hot Topic. "And now it just got worse again..." Live thought setting down her burger and crossing her arms.

"Hmph. How'd you know I walk or talked? I could have been a mute paraplegic." Live said dryly, her empty gray eyes locked on Joker. "And the only thing I own from Hot Topic is a pair of socks and a wallet. I don't do brands." Live was all about going against the norm, even the norm of subcultures. Hot Topic was worse than any other store in existence. The only reason she had stuff from there was because it was on sale one day, so she stole it. She completely ignored his question/comment about her being in high school.

Live was about to ask the two to leave, still unsure as to why they had even sat there in the first place, when the girl spoke up. She picked up easily on the girl's hint about tattoos. Live had always appreciated them but had never seen herself getting any. She wasn't a big fan of anything too "permanent".

She noticed Thorn's iconic Satanist symbol tattooed on her right shoulder. Normally Live would have assumed that Thorn was like every other person who really had no idea what the true meaning of that symbol, however this town wasn't like other places. Within the first hour of being on the island she had already met a succubi so who knew exactly who or what this girl was.

Torn's last statement caught Live off guard a bit. She stared at the girl for a moment, "Uh.... Live's high was getting a bit higher at the moment and for a second she considered answering but then shook off the thought as she remembered her annoyance with the two strangers intruding on her peaceful lunch. "Look, I don't know who the hell you two are and why you decided to sit at my table without even asking, but I'd greatly appreciate it if I could finish my meal in peace." Believe it or not, this was Live asking politely. Her people skills weren't exactly top notch.

Joker lowered his sunglasses to show off his bright red eyes so she could clearly see how unimpressed he was at her comeback. "But you're talking now so who's the real idiot here?"

Thorn scoffed, picked up her fries and threw it at Joker's face without a second thought. Joker squealed like a little girl and fell backwards, head rattling and vision whitening as the back of his head made contact with the concrete. Thorn laughed.

All right. He deserved that. He took a couple more fries from the floor and stuffed them in his mouth before propping himself and his chair up again, smacking Thorn on the arm.

"I don't do brands either. I don't trust corporations. Sure, your shirt's cheap, but they're hand stitched by children in developing countries, man! I hope you love your tiny stitches because they were made on the hard backs of poor Viatnamese women."

She... didn't really understand what she was saying anymore. She saw her hand and — trippy. Was it really her hand? She raised it up and stared at it for a few seconds.

Thorn was high as a shit. This meant she had a hard time connecting two thoughts together. First, this was her usual table. Second, she didn't really see why they couldn't share it. Still, she understood that she needed to win the girl over. She reached into her pocket and slid a cigarette box that contained two rolls of marijuana at the girl's direction. "Think of it as a gift," she said before chomping up a huge part of her burger.

Live watched the two strangers interact, as they threw fries and fell to the floor. She could tell the two were older than her but they didn't seem to be acting that way. Someone else might have found the situation entertaining but Live just saw it as annoying. But then again she found basically everything annoying.

She did like what the Thorn girl said about corporations. At least she had some decent thoughts but Live still wasn't sure how she felt about her. The girl had just barged right into the middle of Live's meal. If there was one thing Live really had a problem with, it was others invading her personal space.

As the girl pushed a ciggarete box across the table Live's eyebrows raised. She grabbed the box slowly, as if she wasn't sure whether or not to trust it, and then opened it. She could tell immediately what was in the box and closed it. She looked up at the girl, "You just giving these to me?" Live said feeling very skeptical of the girl. Who just gave away two joints to a total stranger?

Live did start to think though that maybe she should try to be nicer to these two now. Not because Thorn had given her a gift but because this meant they knew where to get weed. Also, Live thought she might be able to get this girl to buy her cigarettes or tell her which gas stations would sell to minors. [[occ edit: 9/3/16 Live has a fake ID]]
