Appearance Description: Mugsie is a squirrel however he's twice the size of American squirrels, while his tail is fluffy and 130 percent bigger then the size of his body. His colours are Autumn red with streaks of grey and brown over the body and throughout the tail, his eyes are black and glossy with a small hint of red in them. He has small to medium claws on his hands and sharp teeth, unkind to his other squirrel breathes and more akin to carnivores.
Personality Description: Mugsie is a top bloke most of the time, though he's fairly likely to speak up on people's stupidity and he's highly sarcastic. He'll protect Matty till his last breath, because he considers her a memeber of his family.
He won't interfere in her love life or friendships unless he feels the other person is causing trouble or not what they say, he like to chill in a special compartment in Matty's backpack while allowing his tail to hang out the bottom. If someone grabs that tail, Mugsie immediately jumps up and out subsequently tearing the face of the perp.
Species Abilities: As a squirrel Mugsie is quite fast and agile, able to move across the ground or tree tops without issue or slowing down. His reaction time is also better then most and will react quicker to things he notes before most others, his senses such as hearing and smell are also fairly attuned and allow him to pick up on things better then most. Though his sense isn't up to the level of say a dog for smelling power, and his hearing just scraps to that of a cat.
His carnivorous side makes him an apt hunter usually employing a drop from a height such as a tree or such to attack a prey unawares, he knows where to bite or scratch a prey to get an instant kill. Mugsie can also use his tail while running or even fighting to his advantage, though it can also lead to him being an easier target because of its size. His speed agility and reaction time generally relate to weather he's got enough energy, food wise and other such things while his hunting skills need to be used regularly to keep up to scratch.

Mugsie is a fairly intelligent creature and unlike some of his brethren, Mugsie is what one would call sentient. This allows him several useful things, such as awareness of self which makes him sometime keen on lookin good for the day and Matty has to fight over the mirror sometimes. He doesn't consider himself a pet to Matty and she feels the same, Mugsie is essentially Matty's brother of sorts and count on one another to get by.
Mugsie can both feel and show emotion, not only that he can perceive himself and other subjectively. He can suffer pain and enjoy pleasure while also being able to think for himself and create things, he also often learns new things while sitting in Matty's classes. He hopes this new school will allow him to learn in the open rather then hidden in a bag, alongside all this Mugsie is capable of human speech which he's learned while growing up with Matty and her family. Mugsie is also capable of reading and writing in English, however it's only on the level of an actual human seven year but his speech and intelligence is at least that of a high schooler akin to Matty's age.
Even though Matty is a fairly upbeat person, Mugsie can be a little bit of the opposite but not in a negative sense. More like he worries a little more, thus he's gained his own personality that differs from that of those around him. His sarcastic nature does take small nuances from Matty's friends and family, but his honest and blunt nature is mostly his own. His speech at first was broken but now it's fairly good, and comes off like any other person except that he looks like a squirrel. He also speaks in a New Jersey accent, sounding a little like an Italia-American gangster from Jersey.
Biography: Mugsie was born in his native land of Malaysia, where his mother died when a predator attacked her. A hunter had noticed the surviving baby and brought it back to town with him, luckily he was only a short time away from weaning. Ending up being sold to a young American girl named Matty who'd gone to the country for a basketball tournament, bringing Mugsie back with all the right papers and information known about him.
Once home Matty took care of Mugsie like he was a memeber of her family, when he was able Matty would take him to the Forrest where he'd get used to the trees. And this would also allow him to hunt animals and get used to such things, over time spent together Matty and Mugsie became inseparable. She would often take Mugsie with her, and he'd hide in her bag so people didn't cause a fuss. A hole was made in the bottom of her bag so Mugsie's tail would hang out, this was often something people brought up or tried to play with much to Mugsie's chagrin.
As he grew, Matty noticed Mugsie wasn't your average squirrel excluding the meat eating part Mugsie seemed quite intelligent. And with a little help from Matty and his own potential genetics, Mugsie learned to speak English and even read and write though his reading and writing wasn't as good as his speech. But he enjoys learning new things but can be a bit critical to others, especially when it concerns Matty who he sees like a sister. Mugsie also enjoyed being the team mascot for Matty's basketball team, and could be seen on the sidelines of rafters cheering the team on. He looks forward to this new place he and Matty are going too, and hopes it'll be interesting and fun.
