Personality:

Monsumasmaleekria’s personality is still developing, really. She spent most of her life in an odd place between full sentience and vague instinctive behavior. Her mental clarity is quite new in comparison, and thus, she is still experimenting and figuring herself out. One trait that is constant, however, is Monsuma’s curiosity. She is extremely intrigued by other cultures and is eager to learn all she can. It should also be noted that Monsuma is completely ignorant of all Earthen customs, from social etiquette to basic terminology, and is rather clueless at this point in time. She will stumble, and stumble often. In general, Monsuma is rather energetic, though whether she is introverted or extroverted is yet to be known.

Powers:

Upon joining Starlight Academy, Monsumasmaleekria had a spell cast upon her that made her able to enjoy regular life. It gave her the ability to freely shift between her usual form as a Oodoragaynseylax as well as a humanoid form. This humanoid form is average sized and changes depending on the time of day. Her speed and strength become proportionate to her size and her skin remains as tough as concrete. In her night form, Monsumasmaleekria has steel-strength plates defending her joints and back, while in her day form, she has feathered wings. The charm is also responsible for clearing the fog that clogged Monsuma’s mind, allowing her to experience the full benefits of sentience. She has also received a basic understanding of english, though it is broken here and there.

Oodoragaynseylaxes are known as the Keepers of their world, Children of Oodora, half sky and half water. As the dominant species on the planet, their duty is to protect it and nurture its growth through their heritage. As such, their main power resides in weather manipulation. A single Oodoragaynseylax is capable of creating mild winds, clearing clouds, stopping small storms, and creating new ones. Their storms are mild and do not have lightening. However, the intensity of the power stacks with other Oodoragaynseylaxes. When groups of the beings form, they are able to call upon tornadoes and hurricanes, though several fully-grown Oodoragaynseylaxes must be present and exerting their full force to accomplish this. OOC moderator permission is required for any weather manipulation a beyond calling and dispersing clouds locally (meaning in the sky above the Oodoragaynseylax).

Species Traits:

Oodoragaynseylaxes are capable of nonverbal communication with beings of either the sun/sky or moon/water. Sun/light and sky beings could include sun elves, Angels and birds - any beings that are primarily adapted for the sun and/or sky. Meanwhile, moon/darkness and water beings follow the same pattern - fish, moon-type werewolves, demons, dark elves etc all count. etc. They do not need to learn the other being’s language, only requiring eye contact to get their messages across. This communication does not extend to command or hypnosis. It is only a means of communication, and can work with both sentient and nonsentient beings.

Oodoragaynseylaxes do not have any set gender. They are able to change their physical sex at any given time, and whether or not they identify more with one of the genders is subject to personal preference. Generally speaking, the entire species is genderfluid and doesn’t really understand the concept of set genders. Also, every 1-5 human years, every member of the species lays 1-3 eggs, whether or not they mated. If Mated, the egg is a mix of the two gene pools; if Mated several times, then each parent shares an equal part of the genes. If Unmated, the egg is half-mother and half-seemingly-randomized. An Oodoraganseylax does not need to mate with a member of it’s own species for the egg to be considered Mated; crossbreeds are possible.

Eggs require extreme care consistently for several months, and are incredibly fragile. Even if cared for perfectly, an egg may die without warning, and the life of a young Oodoragaynseylax is not assured until they hatch. It takes about five human years before a Oodoragaynseylax is considered sexually, mentally and emotionally mature, but it may be centuries before they reach their full size. The lifespan of a Oodoragaynseylax is unknown. Some pass away after only a thousand human years, while others have been around for eons. Though tough to kill, Oodoragaynseylaxes are not immortal by any means, and will all pass on eventually.

Oodoragaynseylaxes do not require any sort of oxygen or other gas to maintain life. Rather, they absorb sun and moonlight, their specific necessity depending on their current form. Oodoragaynseylaxes can go up to a week without exposure to natural light. An extent of this, they seem to transcend gravity and can float and fly at will. Oodoragaynseylaxes, perularily, are completely fine in open space, so long as they have access to sunlight, moonlight and sufficient nutrients. They do hold proportionate weight on every planet, and their strength and speed stats are relative to their size, neither more or less than one would expect of such large beings. Running, flying and swimming speeds are all equivalent due to the Oodoragaynseylaxes’ disregard for gravity.

Labeled as a species trait as this is linked directly to the species. During the day, Oodoragaynseylaxes take on a form that somewhat resembles a large snake-like dragon, accessorized by a mane, a furry muzzle and large feathered wings. However, during the night, they take on a stockier, more brutish form, complete with a hard shell rather than wings and four small finned appendages. Both forms are roughly the same size and are extremely large. In general, both forms possess massive, razor sharp teeth and skin plates that are about as tough as concrete. The spiked shell on the night form is even harder, equivalent to steel.

History:

Most of Monsumasmaleekria’s life has been fairly monotonous, her mind clouded and only half-sentient as she birthed eggs (most of them lost), associated with other Oodoragaynselaxes and cared for her planet. Her instincts as one of her planet’s Keepers left her only semi-sentient, thinking but fogged as she moved through the years.

10,000 years after her birth, a fleet of intergalactic creature collectors happened upon Monsumasmaleekria’s planet. They seeked an Oodoragaynselax for their collection and chose Monsumasmaleekria, along with several others, to take with them. After bringing them to an artificial station, complete with its own massive ecosystem and weather pattern, the Oodoragaynselaxes created a terrible storm in their rage. An area of the station was destroyed, along with the security measures, and the Oodoragaynselaxes escaped in a frenzied rush, becoming separated.

Monsumasmaleekria ended up roaming space aimlessly, not quite sentient and not quite instinctual, until she arrived at the Starlight Observation Station. There, administrators were able to charm her into total sentience and discuss her position. Monsumasmaleekria ended up requesting a human form and a place at the Academy to learn and grow, having no idea how to return to her home world. It only helped that this strange new culture was absolutely intriguing.

Additional Information:

Seylax - Child, Children
Monsuma - Sun/Light/Ray/Bright/Gleam/Glimmer etc.
Kria - Wave/Ripple/Turbulence

Monsumasmaleekria translates loosely to Ripples of Light.
Oodoragaynseylax translates loosely to Child/Children of Oodora.

Monsumasmaleekria is an amazing natural artist and can often be found recreating scenes from her home planet to share.

The language of the Oodoragaynselaxes is unpronounceable to most tongues, but sounds rather magical and musical when spoken by natives. It is heard as a series of clicks, bubbles, zips, chirps, whistles, musical notes and whale song. Oodoragaynselaxes are also shown to purr.

Monsuma speaks in somehwhat broken English, currently. She also speaks with a somewhat unidentifiable accent.

**Can be placed into the Pre-K section if there is not one for specialized classes etc.

Credit for artwork to the original artists. I do not claim it as my own.
