Appearance Description:
Mika stands at a short 5'2" in height and 130lbs in weight. He's slender and in some places he still has a bit of baby fat. His face has a dusting of freckles across the bridge of his nose and on his cheeks. His hair is messy and blonde and it looks like it's never seen a comb. His eyes are blue and almond-shaped, they always have sort of hint of humor in them or a lazy gaze, there is no in-between. His skin is a milky white and has a bit of a tan to it. He always wears bright colors, normally only seen in lazy and casual attire. Which consists of baggy t-shirts, oversized sweaters, and loose jeans. He always wears the same beat-up sneakers and he doesn't seem to be getting rid of them any time soon. His hands are calloused to the touch from working with craft tools.
When in Fox form, he's white in color, long-haired and his blue eyes are much brighter. He's about the size of a young fox kit, he's not exactly matured enough. He only holds two tails. Which carries over to his human form.
Personality Description:
Think of a sunshiney day mixed with gumdrops, and a dash of laziness and naivety and you have Mika Harima. Mika is the kindest soul who wears his heart on his sleeve. He doesn’t see the bad in people and he’ll damn well try to make friends with them. He’s child-like and sees the world through naive eyes, that comes from his sheltered childhood. He can be lazy and doesn’t exactly do things when it’s time to do them. He’s creative and artsy and is usually seen making arts and crafts (namely jewelry) and posting them online to sell. He’s stubborn, hardheaded, and curious. He’s a walking mess. He would love to spend most of his time in his dorm room nerding out over his hobbies, gaming, and sleeping. He's a bit of a brat at times, he doesn't take care of himself very well either. He's a leader, not a follower and seems to have an overactive imagination. He's always one for an adventure as long as it's not strenuous. He's pretty sociable and tends to get along with anyone if given the chance to.
Active Abilities:
Fox Shift- As a son of the Kami of Foxes, Mika has the ability to change into a fox at will. While he's still struggling to grasp his shift completely, he is slowly getting better at it. Unfortunately for him, he sometimes shifts without his consent.
Food Summoning- As Inari is a Kami of agriculture Mika has the ability to summon food items. While they can only be small amounts of food, such as snacks.
Fox Fire- Mika has the ability to summon foxfire from his two tails. Which usually manifests as light, electricity, or fire. This is the one power he doesn't have a full grasp on just yet. When his emotions are high he's known to activate this power accidentally, setting something on fire or zapping someone nearby.
Passive Abilities:
Enhanced Senses- As a fox-being, Mika has enhanced sight, smell, and hearing. He can only hear from a mile away and no farther than that. His sight is able to adapt to the dark but he cannot see from far distances, his smell can pick up things that a human nose is blind to.
Craftsman- His parent Inari, is a Kami of industry and merchants, so Mika has a natural affinity to making art and crafts. This is where his talent in jewelry making comes from, as well as cooking.
Weaknesses:
Completely Mortal- Mika while supernatural by nature, he's completely mortal, he can get sick, he can die, his heart can stop.
Emotional- His powers act up based on his emotions. This can cause harm unless he's calmed down or placated. It can also cause his true form to show.
Biography:
Mika Harima was born from the union between the Kami Inari, a Kami of foxes, fertility, agriculture, and craftmanship. He grew up in the less populated areas of Japan. His mother was a jeweler and that's what caught Inari's attention and thus the woman and the Kami fell in love. Mika was a ball of sunshine from childhood, he was a child that would always ask questions, he was always curious and friendly. Though there was one thing, Mika's mother was married to another man when she conceived Mika. The man figured that Mika was his son. That was until the tail came.
Mika started exhibiting strange abilities once he reached ten, he would shock his mother when they hugged to his displeasure. His mother knew that a strange thing like a tail would attract unwanted attention so she told him to keep it tucked in his jacket and pants that way no one would know. She took him out of school and homeschooled him until she could figure out a solution. Mika's father then knew that the boy was not his son and that his wife had cheated on him. That's when Mika lost the only father he knew. He packed up and left the two on their own.
While she was homeschooling him she taught him the ins and outs of her trade and Mika began making his own jewelry, while a little bit of amateurish the jewelry still looked pretty. Mika became increasingly sad, he couldn't see any of his friends, and the rare times he did go out he had to keep a low profile. He wondered if this was the way he was going to live his life now.
That's when a strange person ended up at their front door explaining of a place that would be a safe place for him. A place where he wouldn't have to hide and he could go to a school where he could be free to be himself.
Mika was twelve when he first stepped on the island with his mother, he started his first day as a sixth-grader and had been attending Starlight Academy ever since.
